Under ultraviolet (UV) and visible light irradiation, semiconductive photocatalysis is leading to the disinfection and mineralization of organic compounds and other harmful contaminants. Some heavy metals and refractive organic compounds are not transferred to the next step, making mineralization difficult. The current study uses a straightforward hydrothermal technique to synthesise BiVO4/Au/Black phosphorene, a semiconductive composite photocatalyst. Black phosphorene levels in the composite ranged from 1 to 3%. Overall, four samples were created, with the composite with a 3% black phosphorene content being the most effective in the photodegradation of methylene blue. Ultraviolet (UV–vis) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies were employed to assess the optical characteristics of the materials, whereas X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were utilised to determine the morphology and crystallinity. The bandgap of the produced photocatalysts ranged from 2.5 to 2.25 eV, with decreased recombination when the quantity of black phosphorene in the composite was increased. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Owing to the first‐rate residences of graphene, the research had been achieved on novel two‐dimensional (2D) materials. The MXene is a 2D inorganic compound that consists of transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides. Ti₃C₂, the primary 2D‐layered MXene, was reported in 2011. This material that is a layered bulk material analogous to graphite, changed into derived from its 3D phase, is Ti₃AlC₂ MAX. The start of this review through reviewing the structures and morphologies and their fabrication routes. After this, the discussion converts to the mechanical, electrical, and electronic properties of MXenes. The awareness then turns to their thrilling capacity in energy storage, conversion, and utilization. Energy storage programs encompass electrodes in rechargeable lithium batteries and supercapacitors. In phrases of energy conversion and utilization, photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, solar steam manufacturing, photothermal therapies, photovoltaic devices are presented. Silver nanostructures were synthesized by utilizing facile and simple green methodology based on the usage of biogenic Phyllanthus emblica fruit extract. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed that the numerous phytochemicals were found to be present in the extract that were responsible for reducing the precursor salt into nanoparticles. After 10 min, the silver nanoparticles were formed in the system while the further nucleation for 30 min resulted in the generation of the silver nanostructures with dual morphology (spherical & rod-like morphology). The reaction time/nucleation time was found to be the major factor responsible for the modulation of the morphology of the biogenic nanomaterials. The crystalline nature with the cubic crystal system was observed in the case of the silver nanostructure via X-ray diffraction analysis. The antimicrobial efficacy investigated for these nanostructures revealed that the silver nanostructures possess comparable or greater efficacy than the selected control. The excellent efficacy is attributed to the smaller size and the peculiar morphological characteristics of the silver nanostructures. The catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol via silver nanostructures was also investigated by using the response surface methodology as an optimization tool. An extremely high percentage reduction value of 96.491 % with the rate constant value of 0.277 min−1 was documented in the case of Ag-NSs. The prepared silver nanostructures were found to be extremely stable till six reuse cycles. Our findings affirm that the efficient synthesis of nanostructures is achieved by using P. emblica fruit extract and the synthesized material further presents excellent viability for antimicrobial and catalytic applications. We report the synthesis of MnO nanoparticles (AI-MnO NAPs) using biological molecules of Abutilon indicum leaf extract. Further, they were evaluated for antibacterial and cytotoxicity activity against different pathogenic microbes (Escherichia coli, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis) and HeLa cancerous cells. Synthesized NAPs were also investigated for photocatalytic dye degradation potential against methylene blue (MB), and adsorption activity against Cr(VI) was also determined. Results from Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the successful synthesis of NAPs with spherical morphology and crystalline nature. Biological activity results demonstrated that synthesized AI-MnO NAPs exhibited significant antibacterial and cytotoxicity propensities against pathogenic microbes and cancerous cells, respectively, compared with plant extract. Moreover, synthesized AI-MnO NAPs demonstrated the comparable biological activities results to standard drugs. These excellent biological activities results are attributed to the existence of the plant's biological molecules on their surfaces and small particle size (synergetic effect). Synthesized NAPs displayed better MB-photocatalyzing properties under sunlight than an ultraviolet lamp. The Cr(VI) adsorption result showed that synthesized NAPs efficiently adsorbed more Cr(VI) at higher acidic pH than at basic pH. Hence, the current findings suggest that Abutilon indicum is a valuable source for tailoring the potential of NAPs toward various enhanced biological, photocatalytic, and adsorption activities.
