The intent of the paper is to evaluate the progress of R&D in the field of fullerene science in Russia in comparison with the world trends. With that end in view we use the databases (DBs) of Scientific and Technical Network International (STN) and also less known Russian DBs: of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (applications and grants received, research teams, titles and abstracts of the papers, published by projects participants); of ROSPATENT (patents), and of the Russian Higher Certification Commission (dissertation abstracts). The article reflects on the Session of the Scientific Council on Acoustics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held at the Krylov Central Research Institute last October 4-5, 2005. The session presented papers on musical and architectural acoustics, psychoacoustics, applications of acoustics diagnostics in research and nondestructive testing, laser acoustics, acoustic oceanology and underwater acoustics, and acoustic environmental problems.

Orienteering problem (OP) is a routing problem, where the aim is to generate a path through set of nodes, which would maximize total score and would not exceed the budget. In this paper, we present an extension of classic OP—Orienteering Problem with Functional Profits (OPFP), where the score of a specific point depends on its characteristics, position in the route, and other points in the route. For solving OPFP, we developed an open-source framework for solving orienteering problems, which utilizes four core components of OP in its modular architecture. Fully-written in Go programming language our framework can be extended for solving different types of tasks with different algorithms; this was demonstrated by implementation of two popular algorithms for OP solving—Ant Colony Optimization and Recursive Greedy Algorithm. Computational efficiency of the framework was shown through solving four well-known OP types: classic Orienteering Problem (OP), Orienteering Problem with Compulsory Vertices (OPCV), Orienteering Problem with Time Windows (OPTW), and Time Dependent Orienteering Problem (TDOP) along with OPFP. Experiments were conducted on a large multi-source dataset for Saint Petersburg, Russia, containing data from Instagram, TripAdvisor, Foursquare and official touristic website. Information about the International Conference on High-Energy Physics on May 14, 1956 in Moscow, Russia is presented. The event took place in the lecture halls of buildings belonging to the Academy of Sciences. It opened with a general session, in which a description was given of the existing big accelerators in Russia and of the ones under construction and under planning.

The article presents information on the XXIV International Conference on Interaction of Intense Energy Fluxes with Matter, held on March 1-6, 2009 at the training base of Kabardino Balkar State University in the settlement of Elbrus, Russia. A biography of Gurii Nikolaevich Savin, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian Soviets Republic's member, is presented. Savin was born in Vesyegonsk in Russia on February 1, 1907. He studied at the Mathematics Faculty of the Dnepropetrovsk Institute of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. His scientific effort was focused on solid mechanics. He became a professor, director of academic institute, vice president of the Academy of Sciences and winner of Stalin Prize in science and engineering.

The steps in the development of analytical chemistry and the organization of the school of analytical chemists in the city of Perm are considered. The role of G.G. Kobyak, the first head of the Division of Analytical Chemistry, in the organization of scientific research at the division, the selection of division staff, and the subsequent continuity of the formation of the division and the school of analytical chemists at Perm State University is outlined. The social and economic role of the Rybinsk Reservoir is assessed, and its hydrological, hydrophysical, and hydrochemical features are characterized. The reservoir biota formation is described and its potential for fishery is determined. The article focuses on the life and works of Igor Kirillovich Marshakov, Doctor of Science in Chemistry. Marshakov is a member of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences and a professor of the Faculty of Physical Chemistry at Voronezh State University in Russia. His studies and research focus on physical chemistry and corrosion problems, both fundamental and applied.

The article offers information on the sixth seminar in memory of D. N. Klyshko that was held at Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia from May 21, 2009. The seminar covered several areas of modern physics including the physics of entangled states, the generation, transformation, and measurement of non-classical states of light, and quantum information. The three day program of the seminar contained 34 oral reports and 19 posters.
