1. One electron-controlled multiple-valued dynamic random-access-memory

Abstract: We propose a new architecture for a dynamic random-access-memory (DRAM) capable of storing multiple values by using a single-electron transistor (SET). The gate of a SET is designed to be connected to a plurality of DRAM unit cells that are arrayed at intersections of word lines and bitlines. In this SET-DRAM hybrid scheme, the multiple switching characteristics of SET enables multiple value data stored in a DRAM unit cell, and this increases the storage functionality of the device. Moreover, since refreshing data requires only a small amount of SET driving current, this enables device operating with low standby power consumption.

Abstract: International audience; Primary cosmic-ray elemental spectra have been measured with the balloon-borne Cosmic Ray Energetics And Mass (CREAM) experiment since 2004. The third CREAM payload (CREAM-III) flew for 29 days during the 2007–2008 Antarctic season. Energies of incident particles above 1 TeV are measured with a calorimeter. Individual elements are clearly separated with a charge resolution of ∼0.12 e (in charge units) and ∼0.14 e for protons and helium nuclei, respectively, using two layers of silicon charge detectors. The measured proton and helium energy spectra at the top of the atmosphere are harder than other existing measurements at a few tens of GeV. The relative abundance of protons to helium nuclei is 9.53 ± 0.03 for the range of 1 TeV/n to 63 TeV/n. This ratio is considerably smaller than other measurements at a few tens of GeV/n. The spectra become softer above ∼20 TeV. However, our statistical uncertainties are large at these energies and more data are needed.

Abstract: We report results from a study of the charmed double strange baryons Ωc 0 and Ωc * 0 at Belle. The Ωc 0 is reconstructed using the Ωc 0 → Ω- π+ decay mode, and its mass is measured to be (2693.6 ± 0.3-1.5 +1.8) MeV / c2. The Ωc * 0 baryon is reconstructed in the Ωc 0 γ mode. The mass difference MΩc* 0 - MΩc0 is measured to be (70.7 ± 0.9-0.9 +0.1) MeV / c2. The analysis is performed using 673 fb-1 of data on and near the Υ{hooked} (4 S) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. Abstract: We measure the CP-violating asymmetries in decays to the D0 → K+ K- and D0 → π+ π- CP eigenstates using 540 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at or near the Υ{hooked} (4 S) resonance. Cabibbo-favored D0 → K- π+ decays are used to correct for systematic detector effects. The results, ACP K K = (- 0.43 ± 0.30 ± 0.11) % and ACP π π = (+ 0.43 ± 0.52 ± 0.12) %, are consistent with no CP violation. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: We have searched for neutrinoless τ lepton decays into l and V0, where l stands for an electron or muon, and V0 for a vector meson (φ{symbol}, ω, K* 0, over(K, )* 0 or ρ0), using 543 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. No excess of signal events over the expected background has been observed, and we set upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (5.9 - 18) × 10-8 at the 90% confidence level. These upper limits are significantly more restrictive than our previous results for the lφ{symbol}, l K* 0, l over(K, )* 0 and l ρ0 modes. © 2008 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: We study the characteristics of the low mass p (p) over bar enhancements near threshold in the three-body decays B+ -> p (p) over barK(+) and B+ -> p (p) over bar pi(+). We observe that the proton polar angle distributions in the p (p) over bar helicity frame in the two decays have the opposite polarity, and measure the forward-backward asymmetries as a function of the p mass for the p (p) over barK(+) mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays, B+ -> (p) over bar Delta(++) and B+ -> p (Delta) over bar (0), and set upper limits on their branching fractions. These results are obtained from a 414 fb(-1) data sample that contains 449 x 10(6) B (B) over bar events collected near the Gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Abstract: The angular distributions of the baryon-antibaryon low-mass enhancements seen in the charmless three-body baryonic B decays B+ -> p pbar K+, B0 -> p pbar Ks, and B0 -> p Lambdabar pi- are reported. A quark fragmentation interpretation is supported, while the gluonic resonance picture is disfavored. Searches for the Theta+ and Theta++ pentaquarks in the relevant decay modes and possible glueball states G with 2.2 GeV/c2 < M-ppbar < 2.4 GeV/c2 in the ppbar systems give null results. We set upper limits on the products of branching fractions, B(B0 -> Theta+ p)\times B(Theta+ -> p Ks) < 2.3 \times 10^{-7}, B(B+ -> Theta++ pbar) \times B(Theta++ -> p K+) < 9.1 \times 10^{-8}, and B(B+ -> G K+) \times B(G -> p pbar) < 4.1 \times 10^{-7} at the 90% confidence level. Abstract: We present spectra of prompt electrons from decays of neutral and charged B mesons. The results are based on 140 fb −1 of data collected by the Belle detector on the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance at the KEKB e + e − asymmetric collider. We tag ϒ ( 4 S ) → B B ¯ events by reconstructing a B meson in one of several hadronic decay modes; the semileptonic decay of the other B meson is inferred from the presence of an identified electron. We obtain for charged and neutral B mesons the partial rates of semileptonic decay, to electrons with momentum greater than 0.6 GeV / c in the B rest frame, and their ratio b + / b 0 = 1.08 ± 0.05 ± 0.02 , where the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.

Abstract: We have measured π + π − and K + K − production in two-photon collisions using 87.7 fb −1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the asymmetric energy e + e − collider KEKB. The cross sections are measured to high precision in the two-photon center-of-mass energy ( W ) range between 2.4 GeV W 4.1 GeV and angular region | cos θ ∗ | 0.6 . The cross section ratio σ ( γ γ → K + K − ) / σ ( γ γ → π + π − ) is measured to be 0.89 ± 0.04 ( stat. ) ± 0.15 ( syst. ) in the range of 3.0 GeV W 4.1 GeV , where the ratio is energy-independent. We observe a sin −4 θ ∗ behavior of the cross section in the same W range. Production of χ c 0 and χ c 2 mesons is observed in both γ γ → π + π − and γ γ → K + K − modes.

Abstract: We report measurements of radiative B decays with K η γ final states, using a data sample of 253 fb −1 recorded at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − storage ring. We observe B + → K + η γ for the first time with a branching fraction of ( 8.4 ± 1.5 (stat) −0.9 +1.2 (syst) ) × 10 −6 for M K η 2.4 GeV / c 2 , and find evidence of B 0 → K 0 η γ . We also search for B → K 3 ∗ ( 1780 ) γ .

Abstract: The Resistive Plate Chambers [M. Abbrescia, et al., Nucl. Instr. and Meth. A 550 (2005) 116] are used in the CMS experiment [CMS Collaboration, The CMS experiment at the CERN LHC 2008, J. Inst. 3 (2008) S08004] as a dedicated muon trigger both in barrel and endcap system. About 4000m2 of double gap RPCs have been produced and have been installed in the experiment since more than one and half Years. The full barrel system and a fraction of the endcaps have been monitored to study dark current behaviour and system stability, and have been extensively commissioned with Cosmic Rays collected by the full CMS experiment.

Abstract: [1] Interplanetary shocks that precede coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are mainly responsible for sudden impulses, which are characterized by a simple step-like increase in the horizontal H component. Such a magnetic field change has been explained as a compression of the magnetosphere by the passage of a sudden increase in the solar wind dynamic pressure. Strong compression of the dayside magnetopause could cause geosynchronous satellites to be exposed to solar wind environments where large fluctuations of the interplanetary magnetic field and highly energetic particles are present. In this study, we chose 26 event pairs consisting of a type II burst/CME occurring in conjunction with a sudden commencement/sudden impulse (SC/SI) whose solar wind, and Earth magnetic field data are available. We then investigated relationships among three physical properties (kinetic energy, directional parameter, and speed) of near-Sun CMEs, solar wind dynamic pressure, and SC/SI amplitude. As a result, we found that (1) the CME speed is more highly correlated with SC/SI amplitude than its kinetic energy and direction parameter; (2) by adopting the empirical relationship between solar wind dynamic pressure and amplitude of symmetric H (a steplike increase in the horizontal H component at low latitude), we could derive an empirical formula for the relationship between solar wind dynamic pressure near the Earth and the CME speed; (3) the CME speed has a linear relationship with the difference of magnetopause locations derived by using the model of Shue et al. (1998) at the subsolar point before and after the shock arrivals; (4) a fast CME greater than 1600 km s−1 could be a driver of the magnetopause crossing of a spacecraft at geosynchronous orbit. Our results show that the CME speed is an important parameter for early prediction of geosynchronous magnetopause crossing.

Abstract: We present the partial branching fraction for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays and the corresponding value of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi- Maskawa matrix element |Vub|, using a multivariate analysis method to access ∼90% of the B→Xu ν phase space. This approach dramatically reduces the theoretical uncertainties from the b-quark mass and nonperturbative QCD compared to all previous inclusive measurements. The results are based on a sample of 657×106 BB pairs collected with the Belle detector. We find that ΔB(B→Xu ν;p *B>1.0GeV/c)=1. 963×(1±0.088stat±0.081syst)×10-3. Corresponding values of |Vub| are extracted using several theoretical calculations. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: The Muon System of the CMS experiment at CERN employees three different detector technologies—Drift Tube Chambers (DT) in the barrel part, Cathode Strip Chambers (CSC) in the endcaps and Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC) both in the barrel and the endcaps. TDs and CSCs serve as precise muon trajectory measurement devices. The RPCs are responsible for the bunch crossing identification and for a fast muon transverse momentum measurement. The total number of RPCs is 480 in the barrel and 756 in the endcaps, covering an area of about 3500 square meters. A brief overview of the system will be presented as well as some recent results about the system stability and performance.

Abstract: We study B -> Kd(*)l(+)l(-) decays (l = e,u) based on a data sample of 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We report the differential branching fraction, isospin asymmetry, K* polarization, and the forward-backward asymmetry (A(FB)) as functions of q(2) = M(ll)(2)c(2). The fitted A(FB) spectrum exceeds the standard model expectation by 2.7 standard deviations. The measured branching fractions are B(B -> K*l(+)l(-)) = (10: 7(-1.0)(+1.1)) x 10(-7) and B(B -> Kl(+)l(-)) = (4.8 (+0.5)(-0.4) +/- 0.3) x 10(-7), where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic, with the muon to electron ratios R-K* = 0.83 +/- 0: 17 +/- 0.08 and R-K = 1.03 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.06.

Abstract: We report a measurement of the exclusive B+ meson decay to the D-s(()*K-)(+)pi(+) final state using 657 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We use D-s* -> D-s(-) -> phi pi(-), (K) over bar*(892)K-0(-) and (KSK-)-K-0 decay modes for D-s(()*()) reconstruction and measure the following branching fractions: B(B+ -> Ds-K+pi(+)) = (1.71(-0.07)(+0.08)(stat)(-0.20)(+0.20)(syst) +/- 0.15(B-int)) x 10(-4) and B(B+ -> D-s*K--(+)pi(+)) = (1.31(-0.12)(+0.13)(stat)(-0.25)(+0.25)(syst) +/- 0.12(B-int)) x 10(-4). The uncertainties are due to statistics, experimental systematic errors, and uncertainties of intermediate branching fractions, respectively.

Abstract: We report on a search for the X(1812) state in the decay B-+/--> K-+/-omega phi with a data sample of 657x10(6) B B pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. No significant signal is observed. An upper limit B(B-+/-->(KX)-X-+/-(1812),X(1812)->omega phi) K-+/-omega phi)< 1.9x10(-6) (90% C.L.).

Abstract: We present a new measurement of the e(+)e(-)-> J/psi c(c)over bar cross section where the c(c)over bar pair can fragment either into charmed hadrons or a charmonium state. In the former case the J/psi and a charmed hadron are reconstructed, while the latter process is measured using the recoil mass technique, which allows the identification of two-body final states without reconstruction of one of the charmonia. The measured e(+)e(-)-> J/psi c(c)over bar cross section is (0.74 +/- 0.08(-0.08)(+0.09)) pb, and the e(+)e(-)-> J/psi Xnon-c(c)over bar cross section is (0.43 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.09) pb. We note that the measured cross sections are obtained from a data sample with the multiplicity of charged tracks in the event larger than 4; corrections for the effect of this requirement are not performed as this cannot be done in a model-independent way. The analysis is based on a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 673 fb(-1) recorded near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider.

Abstract: We present a time-dependent Dalitz plot measurement of CP violation parameters in B-0 -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) decays. These results are obtained from a large data sample that contains 657x10(6) B(B)over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. For the CP violation parameters, we obtain two consistent solutions that describe the data well. The first of these solutions may be preferred by external information from other measurements. There is no evidence for direct CP violation in B-0 ->rho(0)(770)K-S(0), B-0 -> f(0)(980)K-S(0) and B-0 -> K*+(892)pi(-), while measurements of mixing-induced CP violation in B-0 ->rho(0)(770)K-S(0) and B-0 -> f(0)(980)K-S(0) decays are consistent with that of b -> c(c)over bars decays. We also measured the phase difference between B-0 -> K*+(892)pi(-) and (B)over bar(0)-> K*-(892)pi(+), which may be used to extract phi(3).

Abstract: We report the first observation of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{+}pi;{-} using 605 fb;{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e;{+}e;{-} collider. The branching ratio with respect to its Cabibbo-favored counterpart B(D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{+}pi;{-})/B(D_{s};{+}-->K;{+}K;{-}pi;{+}) is (0.229+/-0.028+/-0.012)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We also report a significantly improved measurement of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D;{+}-->K;{+}pi;{+}pi;{-}, with a branching ratio B(D;{+}-->K;{+}pi;{+}pi;{-})/B(D;{+}-->K;{-}pi;{+}pi;{+})=(0.569+/-0.018+/-0.014)%.

Abstract: We study the charmless decays $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}h$, where $h$ stands for ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$, ${K}^{+}$, ${K}^{0}$,${K}^{*+}$, or ${K}^{*0}$, using a $605\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We observe ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{0}$ and ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{*0}$ with branching fractions of $({4.76}_{\ensuremath{-}0.68}^{+0.84}(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.61(\mathrm{syst}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ and $({2.46}_{\ensuremath{-}0.72}^{+0.87}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.34)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$, respectively. The significances of these signals in the threshold-mass enhanced mass region, ${M}_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}l2.85\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$, are $12.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and $9.3\ensuremath{\sigma}$, respectively. We also update the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{+})=({3.38}_{\ensuremath{-}0.36}^{+0.41}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.41)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ with better accuracy, and report the following measurement or 90% confidence level upper limit in the threshold-mass-enhanced region: $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{K}^{*+})=({2.19}_{\ensuremath{-}0.88}^{+1.13}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.33)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ with $3.7\ensuremath{\sigma}$ significance; $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})l0.94\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$. A related search for ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ yields a branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\overline{D}}^{0})=({1.05}_{\ensuremath{-}0.44}^{+0.57}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$. This may be compared with the large, $\ensuremath{\sim}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$, branching fraction observed for ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\overline{D}}^{0}$. The ${M}_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}$ enhancements near threshold and related angular distributions for the observed modes are also reported.

Abstract: We have studied Bs0→Ds-π+ and Bs0→Ds K± decays using 23.6fb-1 of data collected at the Υ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. This highly pure Bs0→Ds-π+ sample is used to measure the branching fraction, B(Bs0→Ds-π+)=[3.67-0.33+0.35(stat)-0. 42+0.43(syst)±0.49(fs)]×10-3 (fs=NBs(*)Bs(*)/ Nbb) and the fractions of Bs0 event types at the Υ(5S) energy, in particular NBs*Bs*/NBs(*)Bs(*)=(90.1-4.0+3. 8±0.2)%. We also determine the masses M(Bs0)=(5364.4±1.3±0. 7)MeV/c2 and M(Bs*)=(5416.4±0.4±0.5)MeV/c2. In addition, we observe Bs0→Ds K± decays with a significance of 3.5σ and measure B(Bs0→Ds K±)=[2.4-1.0+1.2(stat)±0.3(syst)±0. 3(fs)]×10-4. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present the results of a study of the charmless vector-vector decay B-0 -> omega K*(0) with 657 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We measure the branching fraction to be B(B-0 -> omega K*(0)) = [1.8 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.3(syst)] X 10(-6) with 3.0 sigma significance. We also perform a helicity analysis of the omega and K*(0) vector mesons, and obtain the longitudinal polarization fraction f(L)(B-0 -> omega K*(0)) = 0.56 +/- 0.29(stat)(-0.08)(+0.18)(syst). Finally, we measure a large nonresonant branching fraction B[B-0 -> omega K+ pi(-); M-K pi is an element of (0.755, 1.250) GeV/c(2)] = [5.1 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.7(syst)] X 10(-6) with a significance of 9.5 sigma.

Abstract: We report on a search for the decay $B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0$ and other charmless modes with a $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ final state, including $B^0\to\rho^0\pi^+\pi^-$, non-resonant $B^0\to 4\pi^{\pm}$, $B^0\to\rho^0f_0(980)$, $B^0\to f_0(980)f_0(980)$ and $B^0\to f_0(980)\pi^+\pi^-$. These results are obtained from a data sample containing 657 million $B \overline B$ pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We set an upper limit on $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0)$ of $1.0\times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% confidence level (C.L.). From our $B^0\to\rho^0\rho^0$ measurement and an isospin analysis, we determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase $\phi_2$ to be $91.7 \pm 14.9$ degrees. We find excesses in $B^0\to \rho^0\pi^+\pi^-$ and non-resonant $B^0\to 4\pi^{\pm}$ with 1.3$\sigma$ and 2.5$\sigma$ significance, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions are less than $12.0 \times 10^{-6}$ and $19.3 \times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% C.L. In addition, we set 90% C.L. upper limits as follows: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\rho^0f_0(980))< 0.3 \times 10^{-6}$, $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to f_0(980)f_0(980))< 0.1 \times 10^{-6}$, and $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to f_0(980)\pi^+\pi^-)< 3.8 \times 10^{-6}$.

Abstract: We report a measurement of the exclusive e+ e- -->Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy near the Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) threshold. A clear peak with a significance of 8.2sigma is observed in the Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) invariant mass distribution just above threshold. With an assumption of a resonance origin for the observed peak, a mass and width of M=[4634 (+8)_(-7)(stat)(+5)_(-8)(syst)] MeV/c(2) and Gamma_(tot)=[92 (+40)_(-24)(stat)(+10)_(-21)(syst)] MeV are determined. The analysis is based on a study of events with initial-state-radiation photons in a data sample collected with the Belle detector at the Upsilon(4S) resonance and nearby continuum with an integrated luminosity of 695 fb(-1) at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider.

Abstract: Using the previous Belle measurement of the inclusive photon energy in B→Xsγ decays, we determine the first and second moments of this spectrum for minimum photon energies in the B meson rest frame ranging from 1.8 to 2.3 GeV. Combining these measurements with recent Belle data on the lepton energy and hadronic mass moments in B→Xclν decays, we perform fits to theoretical expressions derived in the 1S and kinetic mass schemes and extract the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vcb, the b-quark mass, and other nonperturbative parameters. In the 1S scheme analysis we find |Vcb|=(41.56±0.68(fit)±0.08(τB))×10-3 and mb1S=(4.723±0.055)GeV. In the kinetic scheme, we obtain |Vcb|=(41.58±0.69(fit)±0.08(τB)±0.58(th))×10-3 and mbkin=(4.543±0.075)GeV. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the branching fraction $B(D_s^+\to\mu^+\nu_\mu)$ using a 548 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The $D_s$ momentum is determined by reconstruction of the system recoiling against $DK\gamma X$ in events of the type $e^+e^-\to D_s^\ast DKX, D_s^\ast \to D_s\gamma$, where $X$ represents additional pions or photons from fragmentation. The full reconstruction method provides high resolution in the neutrino momentum and thus good background separation, equivalent to that reached by experiments at the tau-charm factories. We obtain the branching fraction $B(D_s^+\to\mu^+\nu_\mu) = (6.44 \pm 0.76({\rm stat}) \pm 0.57({\rm syst})) \cdot 10^{-3}$, implying a $D_s$ decay constant of $f_{D_s} = (275 \pm 16({\rm stat}) \pm 12({\rm syst}))$ MeV.

Abstract: We report a study of the processes e+e-→J/ψD(*)D(*). In J/ψD*D* we observe a significant enhancement in the D*D* invariant mass spectrum, which we interpret as a new charmoniumlike state and denote X(4160). The X(4160) parameters are M=(4156-20+25±15)MeV/c2 and Γ=(139-61+111±21)MeV. We also report a new measurement of the X(3940) mass and width: M=(3942-6+7±6) MeV/c2 and Γ=(37-15+26±8)MeV. The analysis is based on a 693fb-1 data sample recorded near the Υ(4S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report improved measurements of time-dependent CP violation parameters for B{sup 0}(B{sup 0}){yields}{psi}(2S)K{sub S}{sup 0}. This analysis is based on a data sample of 657x10{sup 6} BB pairs collected at the {upsilon}(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral B meson in the {psi}(2S)K{sub S}{sup 0} CP-eigenstate decay channel, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified to be either B{sup 0} or B{sup 0} from its decay products. CP violation parameters are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays: S{sub {psi}}{sub (2S)K{sub S{sup 0}}=+0.72{+-}0.09(stat){+-}0.03(syst), A{sub {psi}}{sub (2S)}K{sub S{sup 0}}=+0.04{+-}0.07(stat){+-}0.05(syst). These results are in agreement with results from measurements of B{sup 0}{yields}J/{psi}K{sup 0}.

Abstract: We report the observation of a new ${D}_{sJ}$ meson produced in ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{D}}^{0}{D}_{sJ}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{D}}^{0}{D}^{0}{K}^{+}$. This state has a mass of $M=2708\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{9}_{\ensuremath{-}10}^{+11}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$, a width $\ensuremath{\Gamma}=108\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{23}_{\ensuremath{-}31}^{+36}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ and a ${1}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ spin-parity. The statistical significance of this observation is $8.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$. The results are based on an analysis of $449\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ events collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider.

Abstract: Using 462fb-1 of e+e- annihilation data recorded by the Belle detector, we report the first observation of the decay Ds1(2536)+→D+π-K+. The ratio of branching fractions B(Ds1(2536)+→D+π-K+)B(Ds1(2536) +→D*+K0) is measured to be (3.27±0.18±0.37)%. We also study the angular distributions in the Ds1(2536)+→D*+KS0 decay and measure the ratio of D- and S-wave amplitudes. The S-wave dominates, with a partial width of ΓS/Γtotal=0.72±0.05±0.01. © 2008 The American Physical Society.
