In the current era of quantum computing, robust and efficient tools are essential to bridge the gap between simulations and quantum hardware execution. In this work, we introduce a machine learning approach to characterize the noise impacting a quantum chip and emulate it during simulations. Our algorithm leverages reinforcement learning, offering increased flexibility in reproducing various noise models compared to conventional techniques such as randomized benchmarking or heuristic noise models. The effectiveness of the RL agent has been validated through simulations and testing on real superconducting qubits. In this proceedings, we present two new quantum circuit simulation protocols recently added as optional backends to Qibo, an open-source framework for quantum simulation, hardware control and calibration. We describe the current status of the framework as for version 0.2.9. In this proceedings we present Qibocal, an open-source software package for calibration and characterization of quantum processing units (QPUs) based on the Qibo framework. Qibocal is specifically designed for self-hosted QPUs and provides the groundwork to easily develop, deploy and distribute characterization and calibration routines for all levels of hardware abstraction. Qibocal is based on a modular QPU platform agnostic approach and it provides a general purpose toolkit for superconducting qubits with the possibility of extensions to other quantum technologies. After motivating the need for such a module, we explain the program's flow and show examples of actual use for QPU calibration. In this proceedings we demonstrate some advantages of a top-bottom approach in the development of hardware-accelerated code. We start with an autogenerated hardware-agnostic Monte Carlo generator, which is parallelized in the event axis. This allow us to take advantage of the parallelizable nature of Monte Carlo integrals even if we don't have control of the hardware in which the computation will run (i.e., an external cluster). The generic nature of such an implementation can introduce spurious bottlenecks or overheads. Fortunately, said bottlenecks are usually restricted to a subset of operations and not to the whole vectorized program. By identifying the more critical parts of the calculation one can get very efficient code and at the same time minimize the amount of hardware-specific code that needs to be written. Quantum technologies are moving towards the development of novel hardware devices based on quantum bits (qubits). In parallel to the development of quantum devices, efficient simulation tools are needed in order to design and benchmark quantum algorithms and applications before deployment on quantum hardware. In this context, we present a first attempt to perform circuit-based quantum simulation using the just-in-time (JIT) compilation technique on multiple hardware architectures and configurations based on single-node central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs). One of the major challenges in scientific code development is to balance the level of complexity between algorithms and programming techniques without losing performance or degrading code readability. In this context, we have developed qibojit: a new module for the Qibo quantum computing framework, which uses a just-in-time compilation approach through Python. We perform systematic performance benchmarks between our JIT approach and a subset of relevant publicly available libraries for quantum computing. In this proceedings we describe the current development status and recent technical achievements of Qibo, an open-source framework for quantum simulation. After a concise overview of the project goal, we introduce the modular layout for backend abstraction released in version 0.1.7. We discuss the advantages of each backend choice with particular emphasis on hardware accelerators for quantum state vector simulation. We present MadFlow, a first general multi-purpose framework for Monte Carlo (MC) event simulation of particle physics processes designed to take full advantage of hardware accelerators, in particular, graphics processing units (GPUs). The automation process of generating all the required components for MC simulation of a generic physics process and its deployment on hardware accelerator is still a big challenge nowadays. In order to solve this challenge, we design a workflow and code library which provides to the user the possibility to simulate custom processes through the MadGraph5_aMC@NLO framework and a plugin for the generation and exporting of specialized code in a GPU-like format. The exported code includes analytic expressions for matrix elements and phase space. The simulation is performed using the VegasFlow and PDFFlow libraries which deploy automatically the full simulation on systems with different hardware acceleration capabilities, such as multi-threading CPU, single-GPU and multi-GPU setups. The package also provides an asynchronous unweighted events procedure to store simulation results. Crucially, although only Leading Order is automatized, the library provides all ingredients necessary to build full complex Monte Carlo simulators in a modern, extensible and maintainable way. We present PDFFlow, a new software for fast evaluation of parton distribution functions (PDFs) designed for platforms with hardware accelerators. PDFs are essential for the calculation of particle physics observables through Monte Carlo simulation techniques. The evaluation of a generic set of PDFs for quarks and gluons at a given momentum fraction and energy scale requires the implementation of interpolation algorithms as introduced for the first time by the LHAPDF project. PDFFlow extends and implements these interpolation algorithms using Google's TensorFlow library providing the possibility to perform PDF evaluations taking fully advantage of multi-threading CPU and GPU setups. In this work we demonstrate the usage of the VegasFlow library on multidevice situations: multi-GPU in one single node and multi-node in a cluster. VegasFlow is a new software for fast evaluation of highly parallelizable integrals based on Monte Carlo integration. The parameters tuning of event generators is a research topic characterized by complex choices: the generator response to parameter variations is difficult to obtain on a theoretical basis, and numerical methods are hardly tractable due to the long computational times required by generators. Event generator tuning has been tackled by parametrisation-based techniques, with the most successful one being a polynomial parametrisation. In this work, an implementation of tuning procedures based on artificial neural networks is proposed. In this proceedings we demonstrate how to implement and construct the PineAPPL grids, designed for fast-interpolation of Monte Carlo simulation with electroweak and QCD corrections, using the VegasFlow framework for Monte Carlo simulation on hardware accelerators. We provide an example of synchronous and asynchronous filling operations of PineAPPL grids from Monte Carlo events generated by VegasFlow. We present VegasFlow, a new software for fast evaluation of high dimensional integrals based on Monte Carlo integration techniques designed for platforms with hardware accelerators. The growing complexity of calculations and simulations in many areas of science have been accompanied by advances in the computational tools which have helped their developments. VegasFlow enables developers to delegate all complicated aspects of hardware or platform implementation to the library so they can focus on the problem at hand. This software is inspired on the Vegas algorithm, ubiquitous in the particle physics community as the driver of cross section integration, and based on Google's powerful TensorFlow library. Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) model the parton content of the proton. Among the many collaborations which focus on PDF determination, NNPDF pioneered the use of Neural Networks to model the probability of finding partons (quarks and gluons) inside the proton with a given energy and momentum. In this proceedings we make use of state of the art techniques to modernize the NNPDF methodology and study different models and optimizers in order to improve the quality of the PDF: improving both the quality and efficiency of the fits. Machine learning has been applied to several problems in particle physics research, beginning with applications to high-level physics analysis in the 1990s and 2000s, followed by an explosion of applications in particle and event identification and reconstruction in the 2010s. In this document we discuss promising future research and development areas for machine learning in particle physics. We detail a roadmap for their implementation, software and hardware resource requirements, collaborative initiatives with the data science community, academia and industry, and training the particle physics community in data science. The main objective of the document is to connect and motivate these areas of research and development with the physics drivers of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider and future neutrino experiments and identify the resource needs for their implementation.
