Six participants applied Glo Germ (DMA International) to their hands before a common physical examination (abdominal, cardiorespiratory, hip and knee) both with and without ETP. After each exam, UV light was shined on the exam table and photographs were taken. The number of hand touches on ETP-covered areas and uncovered areas were tallied and compared using t tests. Some new norms need to be adapted due to COVID-19 pandemic period where people need to wear masks, wash their hands frequently, maintain social distancing, and avoid going out unless necessary. Therefore, educational institutions were closed to minimize the spread of COVID-19. As a result of this, online education was adapted to substitute face-to-face learning. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the Malaysian university students’ adaptation to the new norms, knowledge and practices toward COVID-19, besides, their attitudes toward online learning. A convenient sampling technique was used to recruit 500 Malaysian university students from January to February 2021 through social media. For data collection, all students were asked to fill in a questionnaire that was developed based on previous literature, using Google Forms. 498 students completed the questionnaire (response rate 99.6%). Malaysian Ministry of Health was the main source (83.73%) that students refer to when looking for information on COVID-19. Only 40% of the participants had good overall knowledge about COVID-19; such knowledge was influenced by the students' field of study. The current practice towards COVID-19 was good only by 26.1% of participating students; such practice was influenced by the ethnic groups. Additionally, 60% of participated students agreed that COVID-19 can be successfully controlled. About one-third of participants had positive attitudes toward online learning. The major challenges facing students during online learning include distraction of the learning environment (80%), unstable internet connectivity (75%), lack of motivation (70%), limited technical skills (41%), and limited broadband data (34%). In conclusion, the knowledge and practice toward COVID-19 was good in less than half of Malaysian university students. Attitudes to the controlling of COVID-19 were positive, while the attitudes toward online learning were neutral among most of the Malaysian university students. Challenges toward online learning are diverse and include both technical and student-related problems.

In two experiments, we compared the effects of practice (real and imitative) with no practice on the observational learning of hand motor skills from animated videos. Experiment 1 investigated learning to play a series of piano clips of varying complexity. Results demonstrated improved learning efficiency with imitative practice compared to no practice. Experiment 2 featured a paper-folding task, and results indicated that real practice led to significantly greater learning than no practice. Furthermore, a significant interaction was found with gender and practice, where females learned best with both real and imitative practice, but males did not benefit from these interventions. However, males outperformed females in the no practice condition. Overall, we found benefits of practice versus no practice for both tasks. However, the most effective type of practice was dependent upon the task: imitative practice for piano playing, and real practice for paper folding. Background and Objectives: Paper recycling saves energy, and it is an example of resistance economy. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine knowledge, attitude and practice of Sari Training Hospital personnel on paper recycling and resistance economy. Materials and Methods: In the present descriptive study, conducted in 2017, 151 staff of Sari Training Hospital were selected in census method and their views regarding paper recycling and resistance economy were investigated through a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used to analyze the data. Results: 113 people (74.8%) considered recycling as an example of resistance economy. There was also a significant relationship between doing recycling at work and familiarity with the concept of resistance economy (p=0.001). Conclusion: The present study showed that more than 70% of people have adequate knowledge and attitude about paper recycling, but they need training in terms of performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This project, entitledOut of the Frame: Flight by Paper Plane, explores ways of utilising origami, and especially paper planes, to generate creative patterns in fashion design. It also explores ways in which paper plane crafts, as a mode of thinking, can be incorporated into ‘practice-led’ design research. Employing the practice-led research methods defined by Niedderer and Roworth-Stokes [(2007, November).The role and use of creative practice in research and its contribution to knowledge. Practice as posing research problems: out of the frame: flight by paper plane; 2. practice as context: origami and fashion design; 3. practice as a method of investigation: paper plane practice-led design methodology; 4. practice as a means of generating research outcomes: project evaluation and reflection. Throughout the practice-led design process, origami structures of paper planes serve as a valuable medium for exploring illimitable structures for further application and involve the designer in a complex problem-solving process through which optimal structures are developed. Boris Hessen's 'The Social and Economic Roots of Newton's Principia ' (see https://doi.org./10.1163/1569206X-00002041) is considered a pioneering work in the historiography of the natural sciences. For some, it marks the founding moment of the 'externalist' approach to this field of study. Previously, Hessen published another paper on Newton entitled 'Preface to Articles by A. Einstein and J.J. Thomson', which, some maintain, bears a stronger resemblance to works in the 'internalist' camp of the historiography of the natural sciences. For decades, scholars have puzzled over why Hessen chose to argue for, seemingly, diametrically opposed positions. In this paper, however, I argue that Hessen does not advance two different historiographical methods, but a single, dialectical-materialist approach that accounts for the 'unity in opposition' of the external and internal dimensions of natural-scientific theory. I draw from Hessen's two papers on Newton, his previously untranslated writings, as well as selections from the secondary literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article investigates the different shapes in which reading and writing practices occur when paper/pen are compared with keyboard/screen. The focus is on the bodily aspects of these practices. Reading and writing are viewed as techniques of the body, which over the years have become increasingly mediated by technologies. The analysis is grounded in the theory of social practice. Research material consists of written essays collected from 25 students at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2013. Results show that paper as material is considered suitable and adaptive to numerous reading purposes and bodily positions, while regarding the screen the places and positions of reading are viewed as more limited due to the material boundary conditions presented by devices. Students describe handwriting as a more flexible and relaxed bodily practice than typing, although the worsening skills of handwriting are recognized too. Skills and competences turned out to be less decisive factors than materials and images when trying to explain the differences in reading and writing practices when a paper/pen is compared with a keyboard/screen. Finally, the study argues that digital reading writing interfaces do not determine the ways we read and write as strongly as previously suggested. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
