- Abstract
The prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease is continuing to increase worldwide and is more commonly diagnosed in women of reproductive age. Individuals with Crohn's disease may have inaccurate perceptions regarding the rate of infertility, heritability, and the safety of taking therapies for Crohn's disease during pregnancy, all of which greatly affect their decisions surrounding family planning. Given this area of need for both patients and providers, in this article, we have included the latest evidence on the impact of Crohn's disease on fertility, heritability, pregnancy outcomes, and the safety of medications for Crohn's disease during pregnancy and lactation., Competing Interests: Disclosure The authors have nothing to disclose., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier Inc.
