This theoretical piece aims to analyze how Actor-Network Theory (ANT) can contribute to research in the field of Mathematics Education by harnessing the concept of inscription through Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT). We are guided by this theory, which was devised by Bruno Latour and his collaborators in order to discuss relationships between humans and non-humans when it comes to MKT, a term that has been discussed to permeate the form through which a teacher uses mathematics in teaching and how differently they act in comparison with how other professionals use it in their tasks. To initiate the discussion, we mapped the relations between ANT and MKT so as to highlight the concept of inscription. The conclusion is that both humans and non-humans can develop procedures of inscription, create parameters that allow the ordering of different mathematical relationships, which aim to stabilize sociotechnical networks and to generate an ever-bigger number of heterogeneous allies and aggregates. This article examines the connection between digital competence and job performance among public sector university teachers in Lima, Peru. The study reveals that a significant portion of teachers possess advanced digital competence, but there is still room for improvement. The research also highlights the positive correlation between digital competence and job performance, suggesting that enhancing digital skills can enhance teaching strategies and information management. The article emphasizes the need for universities to prioritize the development of digital skills in their teachers to bridge the digital divide between teachers and millennial students and improve educational quality. self-efficacy, self-compassion, positive and negative feelings, moral competence, social support, positive relationships with a colleague, work engagement, age, professional experience (in years), time teaching in the same school, number of schools currently teaching, and approximate number of students per week. One hundred primary and high-school teachers (74 women) participated in the study (mean age 40.9; SD = 10.01). Network analysis provided a model which encompasses the six most relevant aspects that interfere in the life and work of basic education teachers: life satisfaction, self-efficacy, self-esteem, positive affects, work engagement, and giving instrumental social support. In addition, the yielded model showed that self-efficacy presented the closest relationship with life satisfaction. We discuss the results in line with previous studies on self-efficacy. This study aims to associate vulnerabilities and health care actions with the workload and length of service of public school teachers in basic education in the state of Piauí. This is a documentary study. Analysis of the documents in the database of the School Management and Inspection Unit (UGIE) of the State Department of Education (SEDUC) was carried out. The 5141 registration documents of the 21 Regional Education Departments / GRE in the state of Piauí were analyzed. The data were analyzed using the statistical package, using descriptive analysis and the chi-square test, which were organized in tables. The results show that the use of alcohol and tobacco prevails in teachers with a higher workload and longer service time. Teachers with the most health insurance are also those with the highest weekly hours and the longest period of service. However, there is little incidence of teachers who use health services, the specialty most sought after is endocrinology and the least sought after is psychiatry. It is hoped that the results may assist expanded health promotion, politicization for self-care in health, training of care groups. Promotion of practices in conjunction with intersectoral public policies, reflections on the need for greater links between education and health, between the school, the community and health and care devices, independent and in addition to specific policies for this purpose. In this paper we present our reflections from the development of a postgraduate course on teaching practices at the university, in which the contributions of the attending teachers evidenced the essential articulation of didactics with other fields of knowledge, in order to understand the problems that teaching raises in the present. Issues such as the relationship of teaching with technology, with the ways of learning of young people, affectivity as a component of teaching, attention to diversity and the working conditions of teachers are presented as topics recurring, which although they are not new, have acquired other connotations that make them more complex. This made us think in the sense of considering a "didactics from or towards the edges", focusing on the contributions of those other fields to this discipline that offer greater richness to the analysis of teaching. The aim is to carry out the translation and cultural adaptation of the Cuestionario Sobre Formación Continuada del Profesorado into Brazilian Portuguese; carry out a back-translation of the instrument into Hispano-America Spanish; carry out the empirical validation of the instrument. This is methodological research. It was carried out in four stages: translation, synthesis, back-translation, committee of judges and pre-test. The pre-test was carried out with the participation of 45 high school teachers. The Alpha Cronbach of the questionnaire was 0.940. The Factor Analysis resulted in the grouping of the instrument's 46 questions into 10 factors. The translation and cultural adaptation of the instrument has been of high quality. The instrument's internal consistency was verified using Cronbach's Alpha. The Factor Analysis (FA) showed that there is an underlying dimension in each of these factors. The presented study aimed to understand how school violence and work context affect teachers' health. The study included 744 teachers of public schools. The instruments used for data collection were: Victimization Questionnaire, Work Context Assessment Scale, and Work-Related Harm Scale. Multinomial logistic regression analyses were performed. The results indicate that a high percentage of the participants considered the psychological and social harms as bearable. More than a third of the teachers evaluated physical harm more negatively. Gender and employment status were associated with physical harm. Physical aggression affected psychological harm. Verbal harassment and work organization were predictors of all types of harm. We concluded that models of work structuring, management practices, and being a victim of verbal harassment have a central role in teachers' health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COVID-19 caused, in the years 2020 to 2022, a global-scale pandemic. Due to the spread of the virus through interpersonal contact, presential school activities were temporarily suspended and the methodology of remote teaching was used. Considering this context, the present study aimed to analyze the teaching work throughout the pandemic. For that, a field research was carried out with 170 teachers of Elementary School - Early Years in the city of Cascavel/PR, who answered a questionnaire consisting of open and closed questions. The data collected were interpreted through statistical analysis and thematic analysis. With Historical-Cultural Psychology, it was possible to verify that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on teaching work, since pedagogical practices distanced themselves from the teacher's role of promoting the appropriation of knowledge by students. On the contrary, the teachers' work was related to the mechanical reproduction of contents and to bureaucratic and planning activities. Based on this, the importance of the teacher's role as an agent capable of promoting learning, the sense of autonomy and creativity of students is highlighted, supported by a critical and humanizing pedagogical practice. This study identified and related violence involving students and teachers, teachers bullying intervention strategies, and their beliefs and perception of self-efficacy to intervene in this problem. With a analytical approach, a cross-sectional study was carried out in 2018 with 46 teachers from Guaiúba, Ceará, Brazil. Three questionnaires were applied to investigate school violence and teachers' practices, beliefs, and perceived self-efficacy in face of bullying. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. There is a significant prevalence of violence in school environments, with a predominance of indirect and verbal violence regarding aggression from students to teachers. Teachers who were perpetrators of bullying in childhood agree more with normative (p = 0,04) and learning beliefs (p = 0,03), while teachers who were victims believe that avoidance strategies are inadequate (p = 0,02). Therefore, it is necessary to identify teachers' perceptions, beliefs, and history of bullying involvement to build more effective programs to combat school violence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Continuing education has been the subject of many studies carried out in the educational field, and the investment in this formative aspect showed to be relevant for enhancing and diversifying pedagogical practices. The aim of this study was to investigate the contribution of continuing education on the sport of rugby tag in view of the possibility of its development in school Physical Education. With a qualitative approach, the present research counted with the participation of 13 teachers, who met the inclusion criteria of the work and answered individually to a semi-structured interview. As main results, it was possible to: a) observe the importance of continuing education to expand knowledge about rugby tag; b) to investigate its possibilities of application in school Physical Education and; c) better understand the concepts of sport teaching. It is considered that the results achieved were only possible through the promotion of continuing education divided into three stages, allowing more time for dialogue and monitoring of teachers, just as these spaces for the re-signification of sport are relevant for a higher quality of teaching in school setting. The beginning of COVID-19 had an impact on the entire world population. In the university context, a special situation arose; for students, university attendance constituted a formative reference complementary to that of their own family. Social interaction and learning associated with this type of environment quickly suffered a disruption marked by confinement and physical isolation. The new conditions of socialization infer a new perception and, therefore, a new way of seeing reality. This situation, which has extended for almost three years, has collided with traditional learning styles, appealing to self-management and selfregulation of the educational process, but also to resilience in the face of damage to health and a redefinition of the way of relating to other people, especially in a time of socialization associated with university youth. The teacher's action is decisive for the educational work in childhood, therefore, this study aims to discuss the relationship between the teacher and the elaborated culture, as well as the influence of knowledge in the pedagogical relationship with children from 0 to 5 years old. The human development occurs through a cultural-historical process and the acquisition of knowledge occurs through the interaction of the subject with the environment and with others, reinforcing the need for teacher training as an element for the qualification of the educational work. The methodology used was bibliographic research based on Historical and Dialectical Materialism. The results indicate that Early Childhood Education as a space of systematized knowledge has the purpose of promoting the development of the child through proposals intentionally organized by the teacher. This article analyzes categories operated by bureaucrats when classifying types of users and their effects on the distribution of services, observing contexts of high inequality and universal policies. We analyze how teachers, as street-level bureaucrats, implement the policy by categorizing different types of students. We adopt an analytical lens of cultural schemes, which considers that individuals internalize associations between official and social (informal) categories from their experiences. The analyzed data were collected through vignettes applied to 40 teachers from the municipal education system of São Paulo, Brazil. We analyzed the use of categories through socio-semantic and semantic networks of categorizations and the construction of referral networks. The results show that teachers simultaneously mobilize political and social categories and that the introduction of the variable vulnerability in cases opens space for the introduction of social categories that generate different types of treatment for students with similar behaviors. The article is the result of a research that aimed to analyze the perception of teachers of the State Education Network belonging to the Regional Supervision of Joaçaba-SC, about the implementation of the New High School. It is a qualitative, descriptive and interpretative research that counted on the focal group technique for data collection. The data were collected between the months of August and September 2019, with the participation of 6 (six) schools with 72 teachers. Through the survey, it was possible to point out that teachers showed unfamiliarity, concern about the format and fear of losing consecrated space from the public school to other institutions that act in parallel with the school. This study analyzes, in municipalities in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, some indicators linked to the teacher, in particular, higher education, adequacy and teaching effort. At the same time, it seeks to understand how they are treated within the scope of the management carried out by the education departments with a focus on Elementary Education, final years. The mixed methodology was used, with data collection on the website of the National Institute of Studies and Research. In parallel, interviews were carried out with specialists who worked in the education departments. The results showed, on the one hand, that there were unqualified teachers, teaching classes in subjects which they were not majored and with a high teaching effort. The data were more unfavorable in the Southeast sub-region. On the other hand, the professionals who worked in the education departments, those who induce teacher education and local educational policies, were unaware of some indicators and their implications for education. The most used indicator to manage municipal education was the Basic Education Development Index, which demonstrates a certain lack of professional education. This article aims to analyze the teaching professional life cycle in the context of the Federal District (Brazil), considering the different phases indicated by the national and international literature (Huberman, 2000, Marcelo Garcia, 2019; Vaillant, 2008; and Papi, 2011). The methodology deals with the analysis of data on the relationship between temporality and working conditions. The study is the result of a survey with new/beginner teachers of basic education in the Education network of the Federal District. As data sources 427 questionnaires and 70 interviews were used. Theoretically, this study refers to Huberman (1989, 1992 and 1995), Duarte (2013), Marx (1999), Luckas (1990) among others. We chose the relationship between professional life stages and involvement with teaching work. The result shows that temporal marks have evidence in the professional life cycle, but that the marks of experience (perjivanie) constitute the professional life of teachers in the Federal District. The synthesis that emerges from the real shows that the difficulties and discoveries of beginning/entry teachers are intrinsically linked to their conditions and the ways of carrying out work, it is understood that the construction of new relationships and working conditions can enable the collective confrontation of the objective and subjective conditions that hinder the process of constituting an individuality for oneself.
