The article presents a literature review of evidence on the psychological needs of students with hearing and/or visual loss as well as the impact of their views of need support on their motivation, engagement, and outcomes. Topics mentioned include the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) of motivation, implications for educational practice and suggestions for future studies, and three basic psychological needs of every student according to SDT.
