Perversion is one of the three fundamental diagnostic categories that Lacan has proposed. In perversion, the first paternal function is achieved so that the alienation takes place, however, the secondary father function, “The name of the father” is not recognized, thus the person cannot be separated from their mother. This subject is included in the symbolic system with alienation, but the subject’s position is the mother’s object of enjoyment due to not being separated. Disavowal is seen as the mechanism in the formation of perversion, while defence mechanisms are defined as one’s reactions to castre. In the disavowal mechanism, the person both knows and rejects castration. Hence, one can accept two opposing ideas at the same time. The main purpose of this study is to exemplify the disavowal mechanism in the therapy process by compiling information about Lacanian perverse structure and disavowal mechanism, while sharing information for therapy process by summarizing a case using the disavowal mechanism. Therefore, in this article, Lacanian perverse structure and the mechanism of disavowal will be explained. Then, a case that was formulated in this framework will be introduced and the mechanism of disavowal will be exemplified. In the last part of the article, recommendations for the therapy process will be given.

The objective of this work is to propose a reflection on the personality of women who suffer gender-based violence, to verify whether this aspect is based on psychopathological traits, as highlighted by the major current nosographic systems. We examine the dependent organization of personalities by describing their main characteristics, starting also from the first descriptions started with Kreapelin, to the last ones, related to Swap II and DSM5 and understand that these cannot actually represent the only answer that explains the reasons that lead a woman not to notice the violence she suffers. The proposed question leads the author to consider other closely related issues, such as those related to masochism, aggression and violence, in addition to the possibility of being able to take into consideration further hypotheses of authors who, while moving in the psychoanalytic field, do not fully embrace the deterministic aspect.

Aggressiveness, assertiveness, and sexual deviance: An empirical-quantitative examination of Stoller's perversion theoryObjectives: The main aim of the present study was to empirically examinate the psychodynamic-founded perversion theory of Robert D. Stoller (1979), particularly his assumption of a transformation of aggressive impulses into sexual deviant fantasies due to traumatic experiences. Methods: In the present study different aspects of the theory were examined by using a sample (N = 954) of individuals convicted of sexually motivated offenses who had been clinically and forensically assessed between 2002 and 2018 at the Federal Evaluation Centre for Violent and Sexual Offenders (FECVSO) in the Austrian Prison System. As a part of the psychological testing procedure, German-speaking questionnaires for the assessment of aggressiveness and assertiveness were applied. Results: The results indicated that participants with a diagnosis of paraphilia showed significantly less spontaneously expressed aggression and less social competence compared to individuals without such a diagnosis. Conclusions: The findings of the present study are in line with the core assumptions of Stoller's perversion theory by demonstrating an inverse relationship between the diagnosis of paraphilia and self-reported aggression.

This article methodically gathers concepts and findings from related disciplines to propose that there is a fundamental, disorder-specific psychological impairment, which defines Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as etiologically different from simple PTSD. This impairment is a flawed working model for restoration of trust when one partner fears betrayal. This working model is legacy of childhood relationships with manipulative caretakers who kept the child powerless to test the trustworthiness of their reasons to break promises and to fail the child's expectations. Manipulative caretakers invert the respective roles and responsibilities for restoration of trust, which constitutes perversion of intimacy. This article describes how that fundamental flaw becomes the cause of patients' disorder, by episodically rendering them powerless to ascertain a perception of grave betrayal as true or false in later relationships. Repeated failure with experiments for certainty about others' love explains the characteristic personality traits and beliefs of persons with Complex PTSD, i.e., cynicism about the world's benevolence, self-derogation and sense of a foreshortened future. This article closes with reference to a study that investigated the efficacy of a crisis intervention designed to remediate this fundamental impairment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The high rate of violence, abuse and sexual perversion among children in Indonesia is increasingly worrying. Sexual education has not yet been included in the academic curriculum in elementary or high schools in Indonesia. Sexual education is still thematic and conducted when meeting the right moment that is not planned. The purpose of this study is to increase knowledge about sexual problem prevention behavior for children using serial card education media. This is a quasi-experimental study to increase the sexual knowledge among respondents by using serial card as education media. Study was conducted in October 2020 to 53 students of 6th grade (11-13 years old) of SDN 36 Gunung Sarik that chosen with purposive sampling. The paired data hypothesis analysis (paired t-test) results obtained from the pre-test and post-test for students showed that sexual education using serial card media was effective in increasing students' knowledge of preventive behavior from various risks of violence, harassment, and sexual perversion.Â

The concept of perversion in Freud's work is marked by different times to realize a gradual process of complexity whose starting point is the questioning of the evil as purely phenomenological, after which emerges the psychic plane and thus then the notion of perversion as oedipal product which underlies the mechanism of disavowal, this being the notion that in its articulation with femininity grounds the question of the status of perversion in a woman under which motherhood and masochism appear as ways to think about the matter.

I investigate the possibility that in order to reach truly disturbed parts of the patient's mind, the analyst also may need to mobilise similar areas in his own psyche. I examine the part musicality might contribute to this well-known idea, that is, I consider what is set off in the analyst's mind by the changing qualities of the actual music of the analytic couple's voices, and also by the musical events that occur in response in the analyst's mind. The term perversion is particularly used to explore the perverse qualities of the musical countertransference. I propose that these primal musical processes are ubiquitous, taking place at a fundamental psychic level before images or words are formed. I re-examine Isaacs' (1948) theory that the images of unconscious phantasy are the most archaic expression of the drives, and suggest that the music of unconscious phantasy may assert its prior claim in this regard, the infant's ability to form images deriving from this prior musical capacity. I propose that the words - a much later development - that are then uttered by the analytic couple can be thought of as the text in which the mind attempts to describe what is already occurring musically at the level of the drives and unconscious phantasy. I suggest that many operas offer a paradigm of this process, and offer a helpful way for analysts to think about verbal communication, both interpersonal and intrapsychic.

Objective: The main tasks of this study are as follows: to substantiate the interdependence of perversion as a form of violence and the human ego in the context of hybrid warfare; to prove the existence of perversion as a form of violence against a person in the context of hybrid warfare in Ukraine (personal perversion); to describe the alteration of ego states as conditions for effective human self-regulatory activity in the context of hybrid warfare. Background: Hybrid warfare, including the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, as a phenomenon, has been widely studied both abroad and in Ukraine. However, there are very few works on the psychological impact of such a war. There are currently no works on disorders of human self-regulatory activity in the context of hybrid warfare, which makes the study unique and relevant. Method: The study used a combination of various methods, in particular, structural-clinical interviews, psychological counseling and therapeutic meetings, data analysis. Data were collected for 2014-2020. The total number of participants was 55 people aged 25 to 63 years, with 70% female and 30% male. Results: The latent tension and denial of hybrid warfare result in a gradual increase of neurotization, which is in 95% of cases passes into a neurosis state with concomitant manifestations of symptoms. There is also a deterioration in psychological well-being and phylogenetic disorders (erogenous dysfunction in men, uncontrolled neurotic masturbation in women). Disorders of the mental level of self-regulation determine the manifestation of the mental content of perversion, in which perversion takes on the character of intrapersonal functioning. Conclusion: The combination of disorders of the physical, mental and personal levels of the self-regulatory activity of the psyche increased perverse tendencies in social and political life, which provoked a high rate of psychotization of the entire society and an increase in deficit characterological manifestations of each individual.

A contemporary definition of perversion is offered that aims to reveal a form of psychic functioning as a quality of being toward others in the external world, translating to a mode of relating toward internal objects, and/or a mode of relating toward one's body as an object. This quality of being is contrasted with perversion denoting a specific set of behaviors, as in classical conceptualizations. Two schematics illustrate healthy and perverse phenomenological positions (i.e. identifiable within the person's preconscious or conscious perspective and experience). These positions highlight ways in which perverse modes of experiencing can be depicted, by use of internal psychic positions and the extent to which these are integrated, interpenetrate one another or are truncated and foreclosed. In particular, a perverse internal psychic mode is proposed where affective, embodied, and pre-reflective self-experience is split off or dissociated. The case of Laura is offered as an illustration of a perverse mode of being and a perverse relationship to her body. I also suggest that perverse modes of relating towards others (primarily through objectification) is more common in males whereas the objectification of one's body is more common in females.

This article will illustrate sadomasochistic dynamics as they arise within the consulting room and highlight the main function of perversions. Although the term “perversion” can be considered outdated, or worse, pejorative, if used in its original meaning, it remains the most appropriate term to describe the plight of certain patients who suffer from a specific sexualised form of acting out. One aim of the perversion is to attempt to reverse an earlier trauma by turning that passive experience, often not consciously remembered, into an active one. The patient suffering from a perversion replaces unwanted or unbearable historical affects with current actions that are sadomasochistic, sexually exciting, and highly gratifying, albeit temporarily, thereby keeping the patient’s mind far away from the desolation of the initial trauma. At times, the actions patients are driven to for survival are paradoxically life-threatening. I will briefly refer to the difficulties of the countertransference in working with perverse patients.

In modern reality, exist an intersection between hermeneutic applications based on the motivation of war and peace. The existence of subjective hermeneutics is identical as a breakdown in every difference but the fact that it raise chaos ignores the interpretation of synonymity change into regressive sophistic interpretation. The purpose of this research is to place subjective hermeneutics as a study of the free interpretation of sophia claims discipline (wise) with the assumption that it gives birth to renewable ethical polarization and also progressive. This research is a library that is used to answer specific problems directly that raises the perspective of truth claims of interpretation that is different from the old interpretations. The results showed that subjective hermeneutics should conciliate collaborations of narrative (haggadic interpretations), prescribed ways of life (halakhic rules) and (meaningholders of early texts (masoretic sources). But subjective hermeneutics propagates authoritative hermeneutics that distinguishes between original (competent) meanings and non-original (non-competent) meanings. Syaḥrûr through subjective hermeneutics uses perversion (taḥrîf method) from the word in Qur’an such as lawful ownership (milk yamîn), solemn convenant (mîthâq), adultery (zinâ) and illegal sexual intercouse (fawâḥiṡ) to initiate non-marital marriages.

Eventhough the number of neurosience studies has grown from the late 20th century, the topic of fear in Serbian literature of the second half of the 19th century has rarely been separately researched. For this analisys, the author has chosen an unusual book in which, unlikely to Serbian novels of the time, fear was often described. It is the first book of the stories about Serbian female convicts of the 19th century The Album of the Women’s Ward of Prison in Požarevac with Statistics (1898) by Milutin A. Popovic. Contrary to some Serbian, Swedish (1861) and American (1886) albuma of the time, Popovic narrated crimes and sometimes wrote confessions derived directly from the female prisoners. The purpose of this paper is to analyse fear, conditioned by time and space, its vocal, facial and body expressions, as well as personal reactions. In this interdisciplanary research the author has integrated perspectives and methods from the Theory of Literature and Affective Narratology, Comparative Literature, History of Serbian Society and Literature, Psychology, Political Psychology, Philosophy and to some extent Linguistics (Cognitive Semantics). It is argued that the author's insistence on truth was the part of terrorethics, of causing fear and shock. It establishes the triumph of truth without beautifying, calling for sensibility, compassion and responsibility, in order to improve society. The results of the investigation show that in Album fear is presented as a complex emotion. It appears as an act of defense, but also as a form of manipulation. Fear is often connected to women and it turned to courage. The fear of death and the fear of a dead human body are the most frequently described fears. The author also described gender-specific fear of pregnancy, abortion, and rape. The Album breaks stereotypes of the past Serbian society and reveals different cases of women’s political resistance and sexual freedom. In the Album, fear is rarely vocally expressed, rather it manifests through different bodily symptoms, their intensity and spectrum. In describing one of the cruelest crimes, the author included humor as a mean of defense and fear control. Emotional geography reveals a paradox: a home is a place of terror and life threat, while a prison emerges as an area of joy and security. Moreover, the book describes two key generators of the politics of emotions. One is made by the systematic violence of a patriarcharchal society toward women, and the other one by inadequate institutions which ignore serious social problems. The language of fear, shock, horror, provocation and perversion and the aesthetics of the genre is interpreted as a part of the author's efforts for readers to feel terror of psycho-physiological mechanisms of pain, and to make new connections with the society and its culture. The creation of a complex and multimedia genre of the album is in accordance with the author's multuple efforts to deconstruct the layers of real life and its different dangers, calling for counteractions, and showing the tragic link between inhumane and unordered society.

The perverse position in this case is caused by the strong presence of violence at the psychic subject's origin. Dexter expresses the suffered abandonment by acting-out, the serial murders, trying to reverse the state of passivity in which he is. Dexter's anxiety can be organized in two distinct ways: The first is conscious, supported by his father, Harry, who teaches him how not to leave traces of his crimes. The second way is unconscious and translates the desire of subject the other to pain, allowing the perverse, through projective identification, to enjoy the suffering he causes, being remitted to his originary experiences of subjection. We conclude that in perversion, anxiety is not only present but is also constitutive of subject's choice to operate through the path of violence.

This paper is aimed to accurately delimit the clinical categories of perversion and neurosis, exactly as Lacan elaborates them in his XVI Seminar, in close connection to the structural notions presented in it. Mainly, the topological frame of the Other structured by the significant and sustained by the (a)object and the immeasurability between the 1 and the object. The concepts that define the neurosis and the perversion are examined in general as well as the clinical varieties that integrate them. Two moments are highlighted: one in which Lacan opposes these categories according to the anaclitical and narcissistic cores, and, the other, in which Lacan abandons this last idea to characterize neurosis, the same as perversion, with regard to the Other, the lust and the (a) object. In the transition between one and the other, the phobia is situated as a rotating plate from the perversion structure to some neurosis form.

This work articulates the Freudian concept of Anaclitic Object-Choice with the Lacanian concept of Anaclitic Relation by examining their relations, similarities and differences. First, the Freudian concept is delimited and the complexity of its relations to other concepts of the Freudian theory is highlighted, pointing out the difficulties in understanding post-Freudian developments stemming from such complexity. Secondly, the Lacanian concept is delimited, or rather both concepts of anaclitic relation developed by Lacan in different moments of his work are described. The first concept, presented in Seminar 4, Lacan builds a concept over the eroticism and intersubjectivity axis, excluding the id's drives components (the core of the Freudian concept). The other concept is presented within Seminar 16, where the anaclitic relation is considered an essential characteristic of the perverse structure in opposition to the Narcissistic relationship, which is typical of neurosis.

Necrophilia is a perverted sexual behavior where the perpetrator gets pleasure having sex with the corpses. It is a rare sexual perversion reported in the journal or forensic literature. Here, we presented a necrophiliac case of an adult male working in the morgue of Bangladesh. The police arrested a 20-year-old man from Dhaka, Bangladesh on a charge of necrophilia. He has been working as a morgue assistant for the last couple of years and lived in the morgue premises. Suddenly, a forensic lab report of DNA profile indicated the sperm found in several dead bodies of women were from a single man. Initially, police suspected a rapist serial killer behind the crime though the post-mortem reports failed to identify any clue of rape or injuries on the dead bodies. Then, they collected the DNA samples from the teacups and cigarette butts of the accused person. After analysis, the report confirmed the presence of his sperm in the six dead bodies of women. Also, these six dead bodies were kept in the same morgue at night before the autopsies where the same morgue attendant was present every time. Based on these findings, further necrophiliac behaviors might be predicted among the morgue worker in Bangladesh. We hope this report will help the investigators for a better understanding of necrophilia cases. Based on the motivations of necrophiliac acts, the clinicians might adapt the better treatment and management plan of the perpetrator.

This article argues for a Freudian theory of internal emotion, which is best characterised as key “safety valves of the psyche”. After briefly clarifying some of Freud’s metapsychology, I present an account regarding the origin of (self-)censorship and morality as internalised aggression. I then show how this conception expands and can be detailed through a defence of a hydraulic model of the psyche that has specific “safety valves” of disgust, shame, and pity constantly counteracting specific sets of Freudian drives. This model is important for explicating Freud’s crucial concept of sublimation, which continues to have key therapeutic and normative relevance today, which I show through the case of jokes. I finish with the argument that largely happy, productive lives can be seen as in a dynamic between the release of too much (perversion) and too little (neurosis) psychical pressure through these mechanisms.

The general aim of the thesis is an interpretation of sadomasochism as a relevant sexuality and a psycho - sexual, socio - philosophical and cultural phenomenon, developed by multidisciplinary aspects of psychoanalysis and social philosophy with the focus on the philosophical analysis of the individual and social understanding of sadomasochism and the essential dilemmas about its intelligibility and adequate positioning of sadism and masochism in the domain of sexuality. I have made the effort of critically rethinking sadomasochism as a specific sexuality in its practice, but equal to every other sexual orientation according to the principle of egalitarian freedom of choice and philosophical elaboration of its position in the context of contemporary theories of sexuality. As a starting point for understanding the theories of sadomasochistic sexuality, a historical background of the concept of perversion and interpretations of sadomasochism is presented through a detailed overview and analysis of the earliest psychoanalysis of Richard von Krafft - Ebing and Sigmund Freud. The interpretation of sexuality and sadomasochistic relationships in the postpsychoanalytical theory of Jacques Lacan is elaborated as the most relevant for the contemporary psychoanalytical philosophy and understanding of sexuality. Sadomasochism is explained in terms of Lacan's conceptually - categorial system, as a special and unique relationship of signifiers, intermediated by desire described as the relationship of the other (objet petit a) and the Other (objet grande Autre). Lacan's structurally - categorial system of subjects, objects and indefinite different possibilities of relationships between individuals and signifiers reveals their both conscious and unconscious desires and therefore is an excellent method of studying and theoretizing sadomasochistic sexuality and interactions in all their varieties and development of the Symbolic, Imaginary and the Real order. The central original theses are interpretations of ontology and phenomenology in anthropological philosophy of sexuality of George Bataille and his naturalist conceptualization of sexuaity as a „violent transgression“, and at the same time erotic and sensual, spiritual and ritual, transcendental phenomenon. Bataille's theory of the essential, inevitable unity of sexuality and violence is strongly antropologically founded, relying on vivid depictions of ancient sexual ritual in comparison with contempory human sexual experience. According to Bataille, violence and sexuality, as primal animal insticts and human drives, are inseparable and therefore sadomasochism can be understood as a necessary trangression, transcending all taboos and cultural norms. His exquisite theses on sexuality, based on descriptions of the unity of the physical and the psychological dimensional and explaining the very origin of sadomasochism, are an excellent theoretical framework for the understanding the practice of sadomasochistic sexuality as an equilibrium of the violent, cruel, profane with the sacrificial, ritual and sacred, transcending into the domain of the spiritual. Bataille's works and thought on sexuality are interpreted as the basis for the ontology of sadomasochism, since transcendentality is the main characteristic of the state of mind caused by intense and unique sensations of the masochistic experience. Phenomenology of masochism, as the primary and far more complexed sexual predisposition and orientatation than sadism, is best expressed in the thought of Gilles Deleuze, centrally focused and concentrated on distingishing and dividing masochism and sadism into two different entities and forms of existence. Deleuze's theory of masochism is of great relevance, since he strictly excludes masochism from sadism, as two separate worlds, with his references on Leopold Sacher - Masoch and his notion of masochism as supersensuality. According to Deleuze, masochism is a world of its own, and the masochistic individual has a unique set of mind, psyche and desires for physical pain, opposite to a sadist, which ontologically differenciates masochists from sadist. Jean - Luc Nancy's philosophy of the body is of great significance for understanding sadomasochistic sexuality, since he positioned the body as the central part of the individual's person, selfhood and the realization of sexual identity. As I have demonstrated, he has developed a conceptual paradigm in which myself is the body and his term „corpus ego“ stands for the unity of body, self and mind. The unity of body, self and mind and the idea of the body as the self are followed by his understanding of physical sensations as life forces, which are the essential components of sadomasochistic sexuality and lifestyle. Jean Baudrillard's analysis of the postfuturist and postsexual society and his brilliant depictions of human drives for violent sexuality in comparison with the perception of reality or its simulation plays an extremely important role in explaining the contemporary technological society and specific sexual practices. Baudrillard has reformulated some of the major Lacan's terms and concept in his own, original and different interpretation of sexuality and violence in terms of seduction, pornography and sexual pleasure by referring to manifestations of extreme sexuality in voyeurism, implying various sadomasochistic practices, reaching the limitless hyperreality of taking pleasure in participating severe accidents and acts of brutality as a response to the exposition and submission to mechanisms of technology. Herbert Marcuse's philosophical interpretation of Freud is of extreme importance for the explanation of the reflexion of the physical in the social state and the broad problematics of contemporary society and the individual as a product of repressive civilization and repressed sexuality and the idea of an open possibility of realization of an non – repressive, but productive society of the pleasure principle. The essential part of the thesis is based upon the theories of the society and sexuality in Foucault's and Gilles Deleuze's philosophy, very different and highly critically opposed psychoanalitical approaches - a historical and „antihumanist“ analysis of social dynamics which shape individuals by conditioning their behaviour. The position of sadomasochist sexuality in the social context has been demonstrated by the historically - philosophical theory of power relations in the thought of Michel Foucault with an emphasis on his exquisite, detailed and probably most precise analysis of development of thought and science of sexuality. I have applied Foucault's theses on social power relations on the hermeneutics of sadomasochistic sexuality, since his main focus was the historical knowledge of sexuality, dating from ancient Greece, its practices and a specific ethics. Foucault's theory of sexuality was established precisely on societies buit upon the essential relation of power and knowledge which made sexuality a political and scientific issue, including the practice of sadomasochism as the best manifestation of paradoxical power relations, the one of equal individual, both wielding power and submitting to powerlessness, a realtionship beyond power, in search of knowledge through sexual experience and liberation. Sexuality, as an ultimate form of liberation, is presented with an emphasis on sadomasochistic sexuality as the ultimate form of interpersonal power exchange in the social context of sadomadochistic communities and subcultures and the reception of such practices by the traditional mainstream society. The final conclusion of Foucault's theses on sexuality is an interpretation of power relations in radical sadomasochistic relationships from the socio - philosophical, political, but also psychological perspective, along with the ethics of sadomasochism as a prescribed conduct regarding safety and consensuality. Contemporary theories and conceptions od sadomasochism, most expressed in the USA from 1990s to the present day have explained and interpreted the basic linguistic register of BDSM and represented the essential practices of this sexuality, which has, by social development, evolved from „true“ sadomasochism to populizarization and mainstream culture of the postcapitalist consumerist society. Numerous contemporary sociology and physchology theoreticians, including psychotherapists represent a positive attitude towards sadomasochism and shall be confronted with „heavy“ arguments of radical feminist authors against this sexual practice, but it is important to note that the renowned feminist theoreticians have taken the affirmative attitude towards S/M as practioners themselves. The intention of the thesis, after a philosophical overview of the phenomenon of sadomasochism in theory and practice, is an original interpretation and rethinking of various theories and the still present dubious and problematic understandings of sadomasochistic sexuality - as a psychopathological disorder, perversion, violence, abnormal sexuality or deviation, which should be disregarded and discarded as obsolete misinterpretations. Innovative interpretations of the relevant literature and my own personally developed theses in ontology and epistemology of the individual, community and the social totality shall constitute a unique opposition to the psychopatologization of sadomasochist sexuality in the social and the individual psychological sphere of the phenomenon of sadomasochism which, from the socio - philosophical and psychological perspective, has an immense role in contemporary society and culture.

Psychoanalytic thinking about perversion has aroused condemnation from the right of the intellectual and political spectrum, and criticism that we have got it all wrong from gay rights activists and feminist writers. Freud reminds us that none of us can stand in a superior judgemental position in relation to those who suffer from perversions. In this chapter, the author addresses the subject of sadism because the desire to inflict pain upon the sexual object and to have it inflicted upon oneself is, as Freud maintained in the Three Essays, ‘the most common and the most significant of all the perversions’. He focuses particularly on sadism as a solution to primitive anxieties about survival. The author begins with recent and graphic illustrations of violence, which is motivated by a self-preservative instinct, to illustrate its destructiveness and the complex nature of the psychological ingredients that humans depend upon for their survival.

Although there is an extensive psychoanalytic literature on perversion, and numerous articles about creativity, few authors have explored relations between creativity and perversion. In particular, the role of childhood trauma and its impact on object relations has not been examined in patients with perversions whose creativity is blocked. In association with preoedipal anxieties and fantasies, childhood trauma can not only contribute to the development of perversion, but can also inhibit or distort the creative process by establishing an inner world characterized by the presence of a threatening internal bad object and the elusiveness of an internal good object. Though it is essential to help these patients establish an identification with the phallic father, an internal good maternal object, in the form of a muse, needs to be retrieved to bring inspiration and reduce the anxieties generated by an internal bad object, thereby facilitating the pursuit of authentic creative work. A detailed case report illustrates how this theoretical perspective guided the treatment approach to a male patient with macrophilia who was struggling to realize his creative potential.

Objective BDSM is a overlapping acronym that refers to the practices of bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism. The American Psychiatric Association “depathologized” kinky sex – including cross-dressing, fetishism, and BDSM –, despite retaining a clinical justification, in the fifth edition of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Henceforth, the paraphilias are considered “other sexual interests.” Method We analyze several psycho-sexological studies that treat sadomasochistic practices as psychic case studies. BDSM practices are no longer considered deviant behaviors, but, on the contrary, “common” behaviors that have been adopted by a large number of individuals. These individuals use contractualization in a specific context. Result Rather than considering BDSM practice to be a perversion by assimilating it to homosexuality, current research in gender and psychiatry and in the psychology of subsexualities has moved beyond the analysis of “deviance,” preferring a scientific study of the effects of BDSM practice, particularly of their positive effects on mood, stress, or depression. Discussion The BDSM and Therapy Project is concerned with articulating the possible risks of BDSM play and with clarifying situations where BDSM play is neither safe nor helpful. Members of the BDSM community have expressed the following points: the development of barriers between community members; the risks of alienation and isolation through stigmatization; having one's limits violated during a scene; the potential risk of dehumanization and destruction. Conclusion BDSM therapy, in a therapeutic setting as well as within the community, is based on consent. BDSM can be a form of psychotherapy for the subject. BDSM therapy would consist in the modification of the meaning of physical suffering by transforming it into voluntary pain, through consensual constraint. A functional BDSM therapeutic practice requires at least three conditions: (1) the SM relationship involves a willing dominant and a willing submissive; (2) this erotic duo exists in a codified setting; (3) the dominant is a “therapizer” in her/his display of empathy for the submissive; (4) a two-way flow of reciprocal benefits in terms of post-session well-being.

The concept of affirmative consent presumes a subject who is fully transparent to herself and who can anticipate the precise effects of her assent. This essay proposes limit consent, a concept that offers us different ways to think about the sexual—and about the analytic encounter. Limit consent involves a more nuanced negotiation of limits and becomes possible when the subject makes herself passible (Lyotard 1988) to an other—a condition that is neither active nor passive. Processes described in depth here suggest that passibility has ties to the rousing of infantile sexuality (Freud) and to the subject’s normative perversity (Laplanche). When the psychic economy of the infantile sexual is followed to its apex, a particular kind of state is produced that I call overwhelm—a word that is used here as a noun. Overwhelm is a state of dysregulation that can be confused with, but is not the same as, repetition compulsion. Overwhelm entails risk, and under some circumstances it may open up space toward significant psychic transformations. A detailed clinical example illustrates how overwhelm may make itself known in the clinical encounter, and how it can infiltrate the transference/countertransference. Specific technical suggestions are made regarding analytic work with overwhelm.

The first adolescent developmental tasks associated with sex that must be mastered is the formation of new relationship and more mature with the opposite sex. The development of interest in the opposite sex follows a certain pattern, likewise for autistic adolescent who experience growth in their sexual side. Sexuality is the integration of feelings, needs, and desires that shape a person’s unique personality, revealing a person’s tendency to be male or female. Sex, on the contrary, is defined as sex or other activities/events from physical relationship sex itself. Adolescent with autism do not like the adolescent age. Parents who have children with autism have different challenge, especially in providing sexual education to their children. Sexual education for adolescents with autism is very important they are more prone to experience sexual harassment. Sexual education is also important for autistic adolescent to them give an adequate understanding regarding changes in physical, mental, and the emotional maturity associated with sexual problems and provide knowledge about the mistake and sexual perversion so that they can protect themselves against the exploitation that can disrupt the physical and mental health.

Narcissism as a multifaceted problem is studied in contemporary Ukrainian literary studies, including in psychoanalytic works devoted to philology. In particular, it is a project of the psychohistory of the Ukrainian literature proposed by Nila Zborovska. But the problem of narcissistic perversion, which is becoming more and more relevant in modern times, has not yet been isolated in literary criticism. Instead, fiction is an example of a clear depiction of such a problem in the images of imitators, egocentric manipulators, the display of unhealthy (sick) relationships etc. The main features of the perverse narcissist are singled out in the article. At the same time, manifolds and greater breadth of this type were found in the example of fiction (as opposed to the regularities in accessible psychoanalytic studies). The examples of hysteria and hysteroidism in reliance on the heroines of Lessya Ukrainka are considered, compared with the image of Lisa Khokhlakova in the novel by F. Dostoevsky “The Brothers Karamazov”. The paralyzed Ukrainianity and paralyzed Christianity in the feminine version are singled out. It is found that the absence of sublimation (in relation on Nerisa) leads to loss of moral qualities. The research emphasizes on the national identity (Nerisa vs Euphrosyne and Antaeus). The characters of Nerisa (“Orgy” by Lessya Ukrainka) and Salome (O. Wilde) are compared. The Lady Macbeth syndrome was identified as one of the signs of perverse narcissus. On the basis of the analyzed texts, there are extracted some binary oppositions, such as: sacred/profane, introvert/extravert, spiritual/fleshly, up(top)/low, creativity/imitation, Eros/Thanatos. Methods of research: comparative, Jungian (analytical psychology), translation studies, mythological, intermedial. For a clearer understanding of the clinical picture of feminine characters, the historical context is presented. The material of the analysis is artistic literature and opinion journalism (epistolary texts). Attention is paid to the texts of the Ukrainian, British, American, Austrian, Russian literatures, as well as folklore and mythology of different nations. Keywords: text, work, archetype, character, narcissistic perversion, narcissist, manipulation, aggressor, victim.

Jules Baillarger was one of the foremost figures of nineteenth-century neurobiology. He is remembered today for his discovery that the human cerebral cortex is composed of six intercalated layers. Even today, two horizontal fiber bundles within cortical layers IV and V are referred to as the outer and inner bands of Baillarger. It is a measure of the importance of Baillarger's discovery that his findings were elaborated upon with advances in microscopy and the development of methods for staining neurons and myelin by, notably, Theodor Meynert and Santiago Ramon y Cajal. Furthermore, Baillarger's observation that there are variations in the thickness of one or another of the six cortical layers in different cortical regions, and the discovery of giant pyramidal motor neurons in layer V of the precentral gyrus, ultimately led to the

Abstract From the Freudian claim that neurosis would be the negative of perversion, this article seeks to bring back to the academic context this nosological entity that pays such a high price because of its name. This article seeks to discuss perversion in the course of Freud’s work, besides demystifying details of the perverse dynamics, little explored at present. Moreover, the texts of Lacan will be approached, from which the French psychoanalyst criticizes the Freudian proposal with another famous expression in the psychoanalytic environment: the unconscious in the open. A detailed research was conducted in texts in which the Freudian and Lacanian expressions appear, paying attention to the original terminology proposed by these authors. Having said this, and based on the Freudian assertion, negative perversions were constituted by fantasies of perverse contents, sometimes causing neurotic symptoms, as opposed to positive perversions, that is, when these fantasies are put into practice without the presence of feelings of disgust, shame or indecency. It was sought, therefore, to understand the dynamics of the perversions in Freud and understand the delimitating criteria between perverse traits and actual perversions, which gained a clinical status in the course of his work, serving as base for the development of other theories in respect theme.

The Erlangen University Psychiatric and Mental Clinic was an annexe to the Erlangen Mental Asylum, so when Leonhard worked there he became acquainted with acute and chronic stages of schizophrenia. This can be viewed as a decisive impulse for his later differentiated classification of types of schizophrenia. The suspicion that Leonhard suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder cannot be supported. His reticence concerning social-psychiatric aspects is analysed in the context of his early professional contact with the ‘Erlangen system’ of open care and its Nazi perversion. Leonhard’s role in National Socialism is still uncertain. His unsuccessful attempts to retain the Erlangen Chair of Psychiatry and Mental Illness in 1951 can be viewed as his first difficulty in the tensions between West Germany and East Germany.

SENSORY perception , *RORSCHACH Test , *PHENOMENOLOGICAL psychology , *APPERCEPTION , *ADAPTABILITY (Personality) , *PERSONALITY - Abstract
The author starts with a discussion about two notions appearing into the Rorschach test: the perception and the apperception. By this way, it is suggest ways for a phenomenological study of the Rorschach test. These proposals are consistent with those of the Comprehensive System (Proposed by John E. Exner). Then the author proposes a protocol analyzing of a patient with a perverse psychological functioning. In one hand, the result obtained by the Form Quality (FQ) is detailed in particular regarding to the status of unusual perceptions. According to the Comprehensive System proposed by J.E. Exner, a significant proportion of responses "u" (46 % for this protocol) indicates that the person is not influenced by any social request or any expectation and some of his behaviors could ignore or avoid any question about social convention. From an other point of view, when analyzing these data, an adaptive dimension for these unusual perceptions is identified. The pervert perceives the stimuli that "really exists" according to him not everyone can perceive it. This advantage allows a better adaptation to the environment and the ability to change this environment. The manipulation (a particular skill that is most of the time attributed to the perverse person) is probably a consequence of having an original perception of reality. It is also discussed the interpretation of the "anatomical content" in connection with this adaptive hypothesis. In addition, the author also discusses a particular answer of the protocol: the answer "shoes" that presents a specific perceptual characteristic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sexual science or sexology arose in the last three decades of the nineteenth century, when psychiatrists and neurologists began to study and treat deviant sexualities as sickly 'perversions'. The new science of experimental psychology did not engage with this morally contested subject. Research into sexuality was rooted in a biomedical and clinical approach. All the same, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, some medical experts increasingly explained perversion as well as regular sexuality in a psychological way. This trend was intertwined with the changing definition of sexuality as either a pushing or a pulling force, which pertained not only to biological versus psychological interpretations, but also to the contrast between nature and culture, male and female sexuality, and pessimistic and optimistic evaluations. All of this has contributed to the shaping of the modern concept and experience of sexuality, and also to its sociopolitical regulation in the twentieth-century Western world.

Since Freud’s exposition of the nature of perversion in his seminal work Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality (1905), there has been a multitude of rich and varied explorations of human sexual fantasies and behaviours that are considered perverse or perversions within the psychoanalytic literature. However, with more recent societal shifts towards the acceptance of sexual orientations and practices which would previously been categorized as deviant, perversion has become a pejorative term seen as stigmatizing and debasing those whose sexual preferences do not conform to the traditional norm. In this chapter I will argue that certain psychoanalytic concepts of perversion retain utility in how we might think about and help individuals whose sexual desires and practices cause distress to themselves and/or others, particularly in the realm of intimate relationships. Historical and contemporary theories about the nature and origins of perverse fantasies and behaviour are presented and explored, focusing on how the deviant sexual act may be conceptualized as a defence against anxieties stemming from disturbances in early attachment relationships. Such ideas inform a psychoanalytic approach to the assessment, management and treatment of perversions, particularly in consideration of transference and countertransference dynamics.
