Providing care to newborn babies is a big responsibility. Unfortunately, on many occasions, professional experts in the field only offer their knowledge and prescribe treatments. They are far from meeting the real needs of their patients. Above all, these babies, premature or not, need the most powerful of all human feelings: "love". This article reflects on these issues and others related to some principles in which newborn care should be based.

La atención a los bebés recién nacidos implica una gran responsabilidad. Muchas veces profesionales expertos en la materia, desgraciadamente, solo son capaces de aportar conocimientos y tratamientos. ¡Qué lejos están de las verdaderas necesidades! Estos bebés, sean prematuros o no, requieren ante todo de la más potente de las prácticas de convivencia humana “el amor”.
