This research was conducted from April 2020 to October 2020 entitled "Diversity of Tree Species at Syiah Kuala University". The data collection technique was performed through a survey of 21 observation plots including faculties, office units, worship facilities, health facilities and other supporting facilities. The data analysis includes the Important Value (NP) and Species Diversity Index (H'). The results showed that the species composition of trees growing on the campus of Syiah Kuala University were 46 species belonging to 27 families. Six tree species that had relatively high importance value compared to others, namely Pterocarpus indicus (19.61%), Swietenia mahagoni (19.56%), Polyathia longifolia (12.76%), Mimusops elengi (12.48%), Roystonia regia (12.27%), and Samanea saman (10.176%). The Diversity Index (H') of those tree species ranged from 1.549 to 2.634. The conclusion is that the tree species composition was relatively limited when compared to the Cronquist classification, and the tree species diversity index was in the medium category.

The combination of pedagogical competence and good professional competence becomes a necessity for teachers. PCK is a knowledge developed by teachers over time, through experiences on how to teach the material in various techniques and approaches to gain a wealth of student understanding. This research was conducted to find out the profile of PCK of Biology teachers of senior high schools. The study was conducted in April 2018. The population in this study was all Biology teachers of senior high schools in Bireuen district (N=137). While the samples of this study were 32 Biology teachers selected by cluster sampling. The method used in this research was the quantitative method with descriptive analysis through survey design. Teachers’ PCK was obtained by CoRe (Content Representation) instrument and triangulated data with students’ questionnaire. The results showed that PCK profile of Biology teachers at senior high schools in Bireuen district was at the growing PCK level.

Crust moss (lichen) is a symbiotic organism between fungi and algae which play important roles in environment and can grow in extreme conditions. Therefore, those are important issues to be concerned. The study was aimed to identify the lichen species and their substrates in the Ie Seu um area of Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency. This research used exploratory survey methods. Observations were done at radii of 10, 20 and 30 meters from the hot spring. The parameters of the study were lichen species, types of thallus and substrate. Besides, the parameters consisting of air temperature and humidity, and light intensity were also measured. Data was analyzed descriptively and was revealed in tables and figures. The results showed that there were 16 lichen species consisting of 7 species (at radius of 10 meters), 6 species (at radius of 20 meters), and 9 species (at radius of 30 meters). From the total species, there were 12 crustose-thallus species and 4 foliose-thallus species. The substrate types serve as the habitat of lichen were trees, stones and dead wood.

This research is intended to know the types of plants, parts, how to care and its use for hypertension disease drugs in the community in Rundeng of Subulussalam City. Data collection is done by interview and observation. Data analysis was done descriptively ie data in table form. The results of the study found 22 species of plants, consisting of 21 genus, 18 families as hypertension drugs used by the community in Rundeng of Subulussalam City. The use of plant parts that are used as hypertension drugs are all parts of plant organs, the leaves are the most widely used parts. The most dominant way to use it is by boiling it, in a blender and then drinking the water. The most dominant way to use plants for medicine is by drinking and eating as fresh vegetables.

This study aims to determine the effect of metacognitive strategiy on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in human digestive system material at SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 in Banda Aceh. This research was conducted in the second semester of the 2018/2019. The method used in this study is Experimental with the Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of the study were all students of class XI IPA in both SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 Banda Aceh. The students of SMAN 5 from class IPA 4 was used as the control class meanwhile students from class IPA 2 as the experimental class. Students in SMAN 12 from class IPA 1 was used as control class meanwhile students from class IPA 2 as the experimental class. Data analysis was carried out by normality, homogeneity and t-test. The results showed that the use of metacognitive strategiy had an effect on students' critical thinking abilities, this can be seen from the results of the t-test in SMAN 5, namely t-hit 15,59 > t-tab 1,64 and in SMAN 12 namely t- hit 15,32 > t-tab 1,645, as well as influencing the cognitive learning outcomes of students, seen in the results of the t-test in SMAN 5 namely 10,07 > t-tab 1,64 and in SMAN 12 which is 3,68 > t-tab 1,64. The conclusion is that the use of metacognitive strategiy influences critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 in Banda Aceh.

Metacognition skills enable students to develop into independent learners because they are the managers and assessors of their own thinking and learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of metacognition strategies on learning outcomes and students' critical thinking skills on the subject of human circulatory system in SMA Negeri Trumon, South Aceh Regency. The method used in this study was True Experimentation with the form of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample selection was conducted by random sampling. The population in this study were 223 students with a sample size 150. Data collection techniques on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills were carried out by providing pre-tests and post-tests in the form of objective tests. The learning outcomes and critical thinking skills was analyzed using N-Gain. N-Gain value for learning outcomes in experimental class (67,16) > N-Gain control class (51,57). The conclusion of this study is that the metacognition strategy influences the learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of students on the human circulatory system subject at SMAN Trumon, South Aceh District.

Fern is one of vegetation groups in the area of Suhom Waterfall, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar, Aceh, Indonesia. The study was aimed to determine the species of Pteridophyta scattered in the Suhom Waterfall Area, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar and their feasibility as a learning media of the Botany of Non-Vascular Plant course. The qualitative approach was used in this survey study. The research location was divided into three stations, Station I (the area above the waterfall), Station II (around the pool), and Station III (the river flow). Data were analyzed descriptively and the results showed that there were 33 species of Pteridophya that were classified into 4 Classis and 14 Familia. The Classis and Familia were Filicinae (Aspleniaceae, Anthyriaceae, Blechnaceae, Davalliaceae, Dropteridaceae, Glecheniaceae, Marceliaceae, Polypodiaceae, Pteridaceae, Schizaceae and Thelipteridaceae), Lycoopodiinae (Selaginellaeae), Lycoopodiinae (Selaginellaeae), and Psilotinae (Psilotaceae).

A research to investigate the improvement of student learning outcomes on Biotechnology concept with the application of SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society) based handout has been carried out at MAS DarulIhsan Aceh Besar on the second semester of the Academic Year 2017/2018. The research used The Pre-experimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The samples were 32 students of class XII/b MAS Darul Ihsan Aceh Besar. The data were collected by using multiple choice questions. The results showed that student learning outcomes were increased after the implementation of handout based on SETS. It can be concluded that the application of handout that is based on SETS approach can improve students learning outcomes on Biotechnology concept in MAS Darul Ihsan Aceh Besar.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui upacara adat, jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan, pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap pemanfaatan tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara adat suku Aceh di Provinsi Aceh. Penelitianini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober sampai dengan Desember 2016 pada masyarakat suku Aceh (Aceh Utara, Pidie dan Aceh Besar) di Provinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey eksploratif dan Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada suku Aceh terdapat upacara adat kelahiran, pernikahan, kematian dan beberapa upacara adat lain seperti sunat rasul, kenduri blang, kenduri padee bijeh, kenduri jeurat, peusijuk naik haji, rumah baru dan kendaraan baru. Upacara adat suku Aceh menggunakan 28 jenis tumbuhan antara lain: 11 jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara penyambutan kelahiran, 20 jenis pada upacara perkawinan dan 11 jenis tumbuhan pada upacara kematian. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penggunaan dan makna simbolik dari tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara adat sangat baik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui jenis-jenis jamur makroskopis yang terdapat di kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser Kecamatan Blangjerango Gayo Lues. Metode yang digunakan observasi dan jelajah yaitu melakukan pengamatan langsung ke lokasi penelitian. Luas daerah penelitian adalah 5 Ha yang dibagi menjadi 5 stasiun dan pada masing-masing stasiun dibuat 10 transek sehingga jumlah transek 50 dengan panjang 100 m, lebar kiri dan kanan 20 m. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 28 spesies jamur terdiri dari 18 genus yaitu Ganoderma, Grifola, Hexagonia, Hirchioporus, Pycnoporus, Tremella, Auricularia, Collybia, Coriolus, Hypholoma, Pleurotus, Phylloporus, Marasmius , Clavaria, Clitocybe, Crepidotus, Rigidoporus, Tremidis, Coriolus, Lactarius, Mycena, Clitocybe, Clitocybula, Pluteus, Pleurotus. Anggota genus yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah genus ganoderma 3 spesies. Dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa jamur makroskopis tersebut layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran biologi di sekolah. This research was conducted to investigate the species of wood macroscopic fungi in National Park of Gunung Leuser, Blangjerango Gayo Lues. The methods used were direct observation and survey. The area of research was 5 Ha, divided into 5 stations with 10 transect stations for each. So, the number of transects were 50 transect stations with the length of 100 m, the width of the left and right was 20 m. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result showed that there were 28 species from 18 genera, namely Ganoderma, Grifola, Hexagonia, Hirchioporus, Pycnoporus, Tremella, Auricularia, Collybia, Coriolus, Hypholoma, Pleurotus, Phylloporus, Marasmius, Clavaria, Clitocybe, Crepidotus, Rigidoporus, Tremidis, Coriolus, Lactarius, Mycena, Clitocybe, Clitocybula, Pluteus, Pleurotus. The most common genera found in the location was 3 species from Ganoderma. It can be concluded that the wood macroscopic fungi in National Park of Gunung Leuser, Blangjerango Gayo Lues is suitable to be used for media in learning biology at school. The aim of this study is to find out the effect of the development of learning tools through a web-based SQ3R strategy to the improvement of students’ learning motivation in the concept of defense system of the body at class XI of MAS Jeumala Amal of Pidie Jaya (a private Senior High School). The data were collected from April 4th to May 11th, 2016 in the even semester of the school year 2015-2016. A quasi-experimental method is implemented with qualitative and quantitative approach. This study was conducted in four classes. Two classes were chosen for experimental class which consisted of 30 male students of IPA 3 and 30 female students of IPA 6. Meanwhile, two other classes were chosen as control class, they were 30 male students of IPA 1 and 30 female students of IPA 4. The instrument used was learners’ motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Kruskal-Wallis test with SPSS 17.0 for Windows at significant level of 0.05. The Chi-test results showed that the P-value < critical limit in which learning motivation was 0.000

This study aimed to figure out the effect of guided discovery model towards metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the concept of human reproductive system. This research was conducted at MAS Babun Najah Banda Aceh from April to May 2016. The method used was true experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of four classes namely MIA XI-1, XI MIA-2, XI MIA MIA-3 and XI-4, while the sample were students of two classes of MIA XI-1 and XI MIA MIA-3. The research instruments used were metacognitive awareness inventory sheets and item of cognitive test. The data were analyzed by using independent samples t-test with SPSS 17.0 for windows. The results showed that metacognitive awareness has tcount > t table (3.422> 2.0154), meanwhile, t-test for cognitive learning outcomes also showed tcount > t table (3.089> 2.0154). It can be concluded that guided discovery model affected the increasing of metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the human reproductive system concept at MAS Babun Najah Banda Aceh.

Penelitian tentang keanekaragaman Rhopalocera di pegunungan Mata Ie Kecamatan Darul Imarah Kabupaten Aceh Besar bertujuan untuk mengetahui indeks keanekaragaman Rhopalocera yang terdapat di pegunungan Mata Ie dan kawasan wisata Kecamatan Darul Imarah Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode transek area. Data dianalisis dengan cara deskriptif. Analisis data indeks keanekaragaman dicari dengan menggunakan persaman Shannon Wienner. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 26 spesies Rhopalocera yang tergolong kedalam, 1 ordo dan 6 famili yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah famili Nympalidae dengan jumlah 9 spesies. Spesies yang paling banyak ditangkap adalah Colias phiodice dan Danaus plexipples yang masing-masing berjumlah 10 spesies. Indeks Keanekaragaman Rhopalocera tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun III dengan nilai 2,642, sedangkan indeks keanekaragaman terendah terdapat pada stasiun II dengan nilai 1,468. Research on Diversity Rhopalocera Mountains District of Darul Emirate Mata Ie , Aceh Besar district aims to determine the diversity index Rhopalocera contained in Mata Ie mountains and Tourism Region District of Darul Emirate Aceh Besar district. Data collected by using transect area. Data were analyzed by descriptive. Analysis of diversity index data found using the equation Shannon Wienner, and the similarity index found using equation Sorensen. The results were obtained 26 species were classified into Rhopalocera, 1 orders and 6 families are most commonly found are family Nympalidae the number 9 species. The most abundant species caught are Colias phiodice and Danaus plexipples each totaled 10 species. Rhopalocera diversity index is highest at the third station with a value of 2.642 , while the lowest diversity index are at station II with a value of 1.468.
