The schmeme of nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computation (NHQC) offers an error-resistant method for implementing quantum gates, capable of mitigating certain errors. However, the conventional NHQC schemes often entail longer operations concerning standard gate operations, making them more vulnerable to the effects of quantum decoherence. In this research, we propose an implementation of the Super-Robust NHQC scheme within the Decoherence-Free Subspace (DFS). SR-NHQC has demonstrated robustness against Global Control Errors (GCEs). By utilizing capacitance-coupled transmon qubits within a DFS, our approach enables universal gate operations on a scalable two-dimensional square lattice of superconducting qubits. Numerical simulations demonstrate the practicality of SR-NHQC in DFS, showcasing its superiority in mitigating GCEs and decoherence effects compared to conventional NHQC schemes. Our work presents a promising strategy for advancing the reliability of quantum computation in real-world applications.

We investigate the performance of a Stirling cycle with a working substance (WS) modeled as the quantum Rabi model (QRM), exploring the impact of criticality on its efficiency. Our findings indicate that the criticality of the QRM has a positive effect on improving the efficiency of the Stirling cycle. Furthermore, we observe that the Carnot efficiency is asymptotically achievable as the WS parameter approaches the critical point, even when both the temperatures of the cold and hot reservoirs are finite. Additionally, we derive the critical behavior for the efficiency of the Stirling cycle, demonstrating how the efficiency asymptotically approaches the Carnot efficiency as the WS parameter approaches the critical point. Anomalous heat transfer (AHT), a process by which heat spontaneously flows from a cold system into a hot one, superficially contradicts the Clausius statement of the second law of thermodynamics. Here we provide a full classification of mechanisms of the AHT in nonequilibrium quantum systems from a quantum-information perspective. For initial states in local equilibrium, we find that the AHT can arise from three resources: initial correlation, intrasystem interaction, and intrasystem temperature inhomogeneity. In particular, for qubit systems, we prove that initial quantum coherence is necessary for AHT if the intersystem interactions are limited to the two-body type. We explicitly show the AHT dominated by each of the mechanisms in a three-qubit system. We proposed a new geometric quantum computation (GQC) scheme, called Floquet GQC (FGQC), where error-resilient geometric gates based on periodically driven two-level systems can be constructed via a new non-Abelian geometric phase proposed in a recent study [V. Novi\^{c}enko \textit{et al}, Phys. Rev. A 100, 012127 (2019) ]. Based on Rydberg atoms, we gave possible implementations of universal single-qubit gates and a nontrivial two-qubit gate for FGQC. By using numerical simulation, we evaluated the performance of the FGQC Z and X gates in the presence of both decoherence and a certain kind of systematic control error. The gate fidelities of the Z and X gates are $F_{X,\text{gate}}\approx F_{Z,\text{gate}}\approx 0.9992$. The numerical results provide evidence that FGQC gates can achieve fairly high gate fidelities even in the presence of noise and control imperfection. In addition, we found FGQC is robust against global control error, both analytical demonstration and numerical evidence were given. Nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation (NGQC) and nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computation (NHQC) have been proposed to reduce the run time of geometric quantum gates. However, in terms of robustness against experimental control errors, the existing NGQC and NHQC scenarios have no advantage over standard dynamical gates in most cases. Here, we give the reasons why nonadiabatic geometric gates are sensitive to the control errors and, further, we propose a scheme of super-robust nonadiabatic geometric quantum control, in which the super-robust condition can guarantee both high speed and robustness of the geometric gate. To illustrate the working mechanism of super-robust geometric quantum gates, we give two simple examples of SR-NGQC and SR-NHQC for two- and three-level quantum systems, respectively. Theoretical and numerical results with the experimental parameters indicate that our scheme can significantly improve the gate performance compared to the previous NGQC, NHQC, and standard dynamical schemes. Super-robust geometric quantum computation can be applied to various physical platforms such as superconducting qubits, quantum dots, and trapped ions. Linear response theory (LRT) is a key tool in investigating the quantum matter, for quantum systems perturbed by a weak probe, it connects the dynamics of experimental observable with the correlation function of unprobed equilibrium states. Entanglement entropy(EE) is a measure of quantum entanglement, it is a very important quantity of quantum physics and quantum information science. While EE is not an observable, developing the LRT of it is an interesting thing. In this work, we develop the LRT of von Neumann entropy for an open quantum system. Moreover, we found that the linear response of von Neumann entanglement entropy is determined by the linear response of an observable. Using this observable, we define the Kubo formula and susceptibility of EE, which have the same properties of its conventional counterpart. Through using the LRT of EE, we further found that the linear response of EE will be zero for maximally entangled or separable states, this is a unique feature of entanglement dynamics. A numerical verification of our analytical derivation is also given using XX spin chain model. The LRT of EE provides a useful tool in investigating and understanding EE.

The light propagating in a waveguide array or photonic lattice has become an ideal platform to control light and to mimic quantum behaviors in a classical system. We here investigate the propagation of light in a coupled waveguide array with one of the waveguides periodically modulated in its geometric structure or refractive index. Within the framework of Floquet theory, it is interesting to find that the light shows the localized propagation in the modulated waveguide as long as bound quasistationary modes are formed in the band-gap area of the Floquet eigenvalue spectrum. This mechanism gives a useful instruction to confine light via engineering the periodic structure to form the bound modes. Quantum metrology allows us to attain a measurement precision that surpasses the classically achievable limit by using quantum characters. The metrology precision is raised from the standard quantum limit (SQL) to the Heisenberg limit (HL) by using entanglement. However, it was reported that the HL returns to the SQL in the presence of local dephasing environments under the long encoding-time condition. We evaluate here the exact impacts of local dissipative environments on quantum metrology, based on the Ramsey interferometer. It is found that the HL is asymptotically recovered under the long encoding-time condition for a finite number of the probe atoms. Our analysis reveals that this is essentially due to the formation of a bound state between each atom and its environment. This provides an avenue for experimentation to implement quantum metrology under practical conditions via engineering of the formation of the system-environment bound state., Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures
