The article discusses the role of golf in U.S. politics. A scheduled round of golf between U.S. President Barack Obama and Republican party Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner is discussed both as evidence of the sport's popularity among U.S. public officers and legislators and a waning of the negative associations of the sport with lobbying and rich people held by many voters. An annual tournament between Republican and Democratic House members is considered.
