ACCEPTANCE & commitment therapy , *COMPASSION-focused therapy , *PSYCHOTHERAPY , *RHEUMATISM , *MENTAL depression - Abstract
Introduction. Fibromyalgia is a chronic rheumatic disease whose main characteristic is a persistent deep aching over most of the body. Several studies show that depressive symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia can worsen the disease's course, magnifying the pain's impact. The present study aimed to compare the effect of two psychological therapies on reducing depressive symptomatology in 27 women with fibromyalgia. Method. Female participants were randomly assigned to Attachment-Based Compassion Therapy (ABCT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The DASS-D depression scale served to collect data at three-time points: pre-treatment, post-treatment, and three months after the end of the treatment. Results. A repeated measures analysis of variance revealed that the reduction in depression after treatment was significantly greater in the ABCT group compared to the ACT group, and this effect remained at the 3-month follow-up. Discussion and conclusions. ABCT seems a more effective treatment than ACT for reducing depressive symptoms in fibromyalgia patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DIVISION of labor , *ANT colonies , *OPEN clusters of stars , *PARTICLE decays , *FREE will & determinism , *MULTIPLICITY (Mathematics) - Abstract
Despite the common use of the concept of emergence, no uncontroversial theoretical framework has been yet formulated in this regard. In this paper, I examine what this circumstance suggests about the significance and usefulness of this concept. I first trace a brief history of the notion of emergence from its first formulation among the British Emergentists to its contemporary uses. Then, I outline its most common features and examine three examples of emergent phenomena, namely particle decay, free will, and division of labour in ant colonies. These three cases of emergence exhibit different features and imply criteria which only partially overlap. I then suggest that the multiplicity of features and criteria recognised as defining emergence, rather than being a threat to the tenability of the concept, should encourage the assumption of a pluralist attitude that is consistent with both the employment of this idea in different sciences and the recognition of emergent phenomena across different levels of organisation. Finally, I propose that emergence can be approached in a similar way to how Richard Boyd approached the problem of natural kinds, namely by identifying an open cluster of properties, rather than a set of necessary and sufficient conditions. A values scale can be defined by two components: a set of values and an order relation. These two components help explain some popular opinions about values scales that favor some sort of axiological relativism. In this contribution we offer a reduction strategy that allows us to accept the presence of said components without necessarily implying an axiological relativism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this article is to explore Derrida's approach to transcendental phenomenology as found at the intersection of two contemporary texts (one on Foucault and the other on Heidegger). In relation to the first, we inquire to what extent or under what conditions transcendental reduction can be associated with madness, silence and violence. In relation to the second, we inquire to what extent nonematicity would render transcendental phenomenology unsubmissive to the schema of Vorhandenheit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MAPUCHE (South American people) , *SUBALTERN , *SOCIAL stratification , *COLONIES , *HISTORIC buildings , *OPPOSITIONAL culture , *TWENTIETH century , *SOCIAL processes - Abstract
This work addresses Mapuche history in one of its most dramatic chapters in its history. The reduction of the Mapuche population that survived the war of occupation of their territories (Ngülümapu) is a point of work and research that links recent history with the history of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In this way, the methodology and theoretical framework of this proposition, is built from the historical method, the work with primary and secondary sources, and the conceptual support from the colonial and subaltern debates, which propose analytical outputs to social processes and politicians that are studied in this work. We believe that in this way, the conceptual and epistemological foundations, which affirm this proposal, allow projecting this work and this discussion beyond the temporal and spatial margins, in which this proposal is framed. ATOMIC absorption spectroscopy , *REDUCTION potential , *PILOT plants , *NICKEL , *MINES & mineral resources - Abstract
The potential extraction of nickel and cobalt from a lateritic mineral sample was experimentally determined at a pilot plant scale. The reduction was carried out in a multi-hearth furnace, at a temperature of 750°C in the hearth H-15 and 3% additive oil was dosed. For its part, for leaching a suspension at 6,6% by weight of solidswas prepared, with 90 g/L of dissolved ammonia and a NH3/CO2 ratio of 1,8. The reduced mineral was characterized by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry and had an average content of nickel of 1,26%, cobalt 0,132% andiron 51,8%. Nickel extractable between 89-92% was obtained for redox potential Eh≤-500 mV. The inverse of ferrous iron in the reduce mineral had a statistically significant relationship with the redox potential and the extractable; these interactions were valid with the ore processed in the industry of "Mina Martí" and "Pinares de Mayarí" mining fronts. Extractable and Eh profiles were analyzed in the industrial furnace, which could be of interest for the investigations and the correction of the operation; finally, recommendations were issued to measure the potential reliably. Abstract To enlarge or reduce a given image, the methods used up to now were based on homotecia, on the practical use of the visual pyramid theory, on mathematical operations through proportion and a numerical constant, on grids, on mechanical utensils of very diverse nature or on photographic, projection, electronic or digital systems. The present study develops step by step, in a didactic and detailed way, a new method of enlargement and reduction of any type of images, of any shape, of any size, of any format, in any orientation, in a return to the artisanal facing the current technological systems, without the need to use numbers, with the exclusive use of simple drawing tools, based just on geometry, through the proportion and similarity of triangles. This method can have global applications, not only in easel painting and studio drawing, but also in wall painting and graffiti, and in other areas that can range from gardening to engineering.

- Abstract
This article has been related to the sustainable development objectives 12 "Responsible Production and Consumption" in order to know pollution produced by the mismanagement of solid waste that contaminates the environment by not having an adequate collection system and therefore are Burned and thrown to vacant lands or nearby estuaries. For this purpose, the deductive, exploratory and quantitative method was used that allowed us to consolidate a survey applied to residents of the urban area of the canton of Jipijapa. Among the most important results, we find that 29.4% of the surveyed sample has the garbage collection service twice a week without any problem, of which the most reused waste is plastic bottles with 36.7%, on the other On the other hand, 80.6% of the surveyed population agree that Environmental Education is taught from school. Sustainable Development Goal 12 "Responsible consumption and production" was also taken into account, target 12.5 "By 2030, considerably reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse activities, which indicates "higher levels would be achieved high waste reduction meditate reduction. With this investigation it was concluded that the inadequate management of common waste occurs due to the lack of training. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of this paper is to describe a low-cost and readily accessed Manual Aspiration Reduction System (MARS) for use treating ping-pong fractures in three patients. The MARS is composed of a pediatric anesthesia mask, part of a macro dripper, a 3-way stopcock, and two 60-ml syringes. Prior to its use in our patient, the system was tested on five adult volunteers to maximum negative pressure, and none reported pain during the procedure or experienced any other complication. We present three clinical cases of patients with depressed ping-pong fracture who were treated with the MARS at the bedside without anesthesia. The patients were monitored by the neonatology team throughout the procedure. Skull radiography revealed reduction of the fracture after the procedure performed with the MARS in all patients. The transfontanellar ultrasound and follow-up neurological examination were normal. The patient progressed favorably and was discharged from our service after 24 h. Due to its components, the MARS is a low-cost and readily accessed system. In this case, it permitted satisfactory reduction of a ping-pong fracture in all patients. This system should greatly simplify the treatment of such fractures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Sternoclavicular joint dislocation is an uncommon injury and is usually consequential to highenergy trauma. These can be classified as anterior or retro-sternal (posterior) dislocation. Sometimes they can be accompanied by injury to large vessels due to their anatomical proximity mainly retrosternal. Conceptually closed reduction is indicated as the first line of treatment in acute injuries and open reduction tends to be for failing the previous one. We present a case of anterior clavicular sternal dislocation, with recurrence after closed reduction under anesthesia and surgically operated with reconstruction and allograft use with favorable evolution six years after its surgical procedure. The leaching of a reduced lateritic mineral (RLM) sample in ammonia carbonate solution was experimentally studied to validate the effect of the specific air flow (K), in m³·t-1·min-1, on the potential extraction of nickel and cobalt. The reduction was carried out in a Selas furnace, at 700ºC and adding fuel-oil additive; for its part, for leaching, a suspension at 6,6 % by weight of solids was prepared, with 90 g/L of dissolved ammonia and a NH3/CO2 ratio of 1,8. The RLM was characterized by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry and had an average content of nickel of 1,03 %, cobalt 0,124 % and iron 55,9 %. It was confirmed that it is valid to apply, for a redox potential Eh≤-455 mV, K=1,3; and for Eh>-455 mV, K=1,8; and nickel extractable increased by 1,4%, and cobalt between 1,0 and 3,6% with respect to the traditional specific flow. The inverse of ferrous iron in the RLM had a statistically significant relationship with the redox potential and the extractable, which suggested assuming the measurement of Eh as a physical test to estimate the extraction potential. This article presents some theoretical difficulties that arise when applying the phenomenological method in empirical research in the human sciences. Although phenomenology is a frequent methodological option in this type of research, recently a debate has arisen around certain constitutive elements of the phenomenological method among prominent proponents of phenomenology as a method for the human sciences. The article examines the arguments that are under discussion and radicalizes the difficulties that this method has when carrying out qualitative research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The innovative idea of recycling the pseudostem of the banana leaf to give it a second use, creating a whole line of totally biodegradable disposables, not only supports the preservation of the environment but also the growth of the region's economy and job creation. This new disposable alternative seeks to replace ICOPOR, as it is known by Colombians and we call it that because the first company that began to produce this material in the country was called: the Colombian Porous Industry. But, its scientific name is expanded polystyrene (EPS), like the plastic, from which this material is derived, causes damage to the environment due to its main components, which are air and oil particles. Also, the large amount of space it takes up in the waste and how unattractive it is for recycling Profesional en Negocios Internacionales http://www.ustavillavicencio.edu.co/home/index.php/unidades/extension-y-proyeccion/investigacion Pregrado

There are high concentrations of vaporized mercury beyond what is permissible in areas of the department of Madre de Dios, product of gold mining, it is estimated that this department produces 70% of the gold from artisanal mining in the country, which are covered by the Law No. 27651 Law for the Formalization and Promotion of Small-scale Mining and Artisanal Mining and its Regulations Supreme Decree No. 013-2002-EM; but that cause environmental problems and health problems for artisanal miners who use it for amalgamation and obtaining gold. With the objective of reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing the available information on substitution alternatives and reduction of the use of mercury (Hg) in artisanal mining; it was shown that there are methods that include more effective ways of concentrating gold; for this, devices are used to capture mercury, or the use of processes that replace it.

THEORY of knowledge , *METAPHYSICS , *ONTOLOGY , *SUPERVENIENCE (Philosophy) , *PHILOSOPHY - Abstract
Claims about reduction or emergence appear in cases in which there are different levels of facts that have between them some kind of ontological connection by which one of them is 'made up' from the other. In the case of reduction, it is supposed that the reduced level of facts is 'nothing over' the reducing level of facts. In the case of emergence, on the other hand, it is supposed that the emergent level is something 'new' with respect to the emergence base. In both reduction and emergence some kind of ontological priority of one level with respect to the other is involved, as well as some kind of explanatory asymmetry between them. In recent years a lot of work has been devoted to different notions of ontological priority, like grounding and dependence, that might be useful for the clarification of the more traditional questions about the nature of reduction and emergence. This work presents and discusses various attempts to make that clarification. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For the last 30 years food safety criteria and parameters of food products have been improved. Maximum safety level has been reached in the European Union. Furthermore, since 2006 in European countries the stage is being set for stabilizing similar processes for getting of certain objectives in the improvement of food and beverages nutrition profiles (specifically of sugar, fats and salt). In this sense, Spain is one of the countries that has advanced the most and culminated in an agreement between the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (Aecosan) and the Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation (FIAB) for the improvement in the food and beverages composition as a priority objective for 2020. Although since 2010 there have been advances in sugar, saturated fats and salt reduction in certain food and beverages, this situation has been generalized from 2017. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
