Background: Dyslipidemia is a potentially modifiable risk factor in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Information on the safety and efficacy of statins in pediatric CKD is limited., Methods: Patients with CKD stage 2-5 and aged 5-18 years with low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) > 130 mg/dL and/or non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) > 145 mg/dL were enrolled from September 2019 to February 2021. All patients were administered atorvastatin 10 mg/day, which was escalated to 20 mg/day if LDL-C remained > 100 mg/dL and/or non-HDL-C > 120 mg/dL at 12 weeks. Proportion of patients achieving target lipid levels (LDL-C ≤ 100 mg/dL and non-HDL-C ≤ 120 mg/dL) and adverse events were assessed at 24 weeks., Results: Of 31 patients enrolled, target lipid levels were achieved in 45.2% (95% CI 27.8-63.7%) at 24 weeks; 22 patients required dose escalation to 20 mg at 12 weeks. There was no difference in median lipid level reduction with 10 (n = 9) versus 20 mg/day (n = 22, P = 0.3). Higher baseline LDL-C (OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.00-1.11) and older age (OR 36.5, 95% CI 2.57-519.14) were independent predictors of failure to achieve target lipid levels with 10 mg/day atorvastatin. None had persistent rise in AST/ALT > 3 times upper normal limit (UNL) or CPK > 10 times UNL. No differences were noted in adverse events due to atorvastatin 10 or 20 mg/day., Conclusion: Atorvastatin (10-20 mg/day) administered for 24 weeks was safe and effectively reduced LDL-C and non-HDL-C in children with CKD stages 2-5. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is common in critically ill patients, affecting almost one in four critically ill children and one in three neonates. Higher stages of AKI portend worse outcomes. Identifying AKI timely and instituting appropriate measures to prevent and manage severe AKI is important, since it is independently associated with mortality. Methods to predict severe AKI should be applied to all critically ill patients. Assessment of volume status to prevent the development of fluid overload is useful to prevent adverse outcomes. Patients with metabolic or clinical complications of AKI need prompt kidney replacement therapy (KRT). Various modes of KRT are available, and the choice of modality depends most on the technical competence of the center, patient size, and hemodynamic stability. Given the significant risk of chronic kidney disease, patients with AKI require long-term follow-up. It is important to focus on improving awareness about AKI, incorporate AKI prevention as a quality initiative, and improve detection, prevention, and management of AKI with the aim of reducing acute and long-term morbidity and mortality., (© 2023. Guidelines recommend initiating supplemental enteral feeding through a nasogastric (NG) or gastrostomy tube (G-tube) in patients with chronic kidney disease who have inadequate oral intake despite repeated nutritional counseling. While G-tube placement is shown to improve both nutritional status and anthropometric indices of children with CKD in developed regions, information from developing countries is lacking. This retrospective report reviewed the impact of G-tube feeding on nutritional intakes and anthropometric parameters over a 1-y follow-up in 5 children with CKD-5D managed at one tertiary care center in India. Gastrostomy feeding facilitated significant increments in caloric and protein intake and was easy and safe. However, G-tube feeding led to additional expenses, and the changes in growth parameters were variable in the short term. Background: Children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) generally have worse educational and psychosocial outcomes compared with their healthy peers. This can impair their ability to manage their treatment, which in turn can have long-term health consequences through to adulthood. We attempted to capture the experiences of children with CKD and to describe the perspectives of their parents and caregivers on access to educational and psychosocial support., Methods: Children with CKD (n = 34) and their caregivers (n = 62) were sampled via focus groups from pediatric hospitals in Australia, Canada, and the USA. Sixteen focus groups were convened and the transcripts were analyzed thematically., Results: We identified four themes: disruption to self-esteem and identity (emotional turmoil of adolescence, wrestling with the sick self, powerlessness to alleviate child's suffering, balancing normality and protection); disadvantaged by lack of empathy and acceptance (alienated by ignorance, bearing the burden alone); a hidden and inaccessible support system (excluded from formal psychological support, falling behind due to being denied special considerations); and building resilience (finding partners in the journey, moving towards acceptance of the illness, re-establishing childhood)., Conclusions: Children with CKD and their caregivers encountered many barriers in accessing psychosocial and educational support and felt extremely disempowered and isolated as a consequence. Improved availability and access to psychosocial and educational interventions are needed to improve the wellbeing and educational advancement of children with CKD. Data on the effect of vitamin D supplementation on fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), in chronic kidney disease (CKD) are scarce. In a prospective interventional study, the effect of vitamin D supplementation on cFGF23 (C-terminal FGF23) levels in children with CKD stages 2-4 was examined. Forty-one children with CKD and vitamin D insufficiency were administered 600,000 units of cholecalciferol over 3 d; 88% of patients achieved sufficiency at 8 wk. Significant increase in serum cFGF23 and phosphate levels was observed in CKD stage 2 after supplementation, but not in CKD stages 3 and 4. There was no correlation of the change in cFGF23 level with baseline or change in bone health parameters (calcium, phosphate, parathormone or alkaline phosphatase) or with change in flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) of the brachial artery. It is concluded that cholecalciferol supplementation increases serum calcium and reduces PTH, but does not adversely affect FGF23 levels in CKD., (© 2022. Advances in kidney genomics in the past 20 years has opened the door for more precise diagnosis of kidney disease and identification of new and specific therapeutic agents. Despite these advances, an imbalance exists between low-resource and affluent regions of the world. Individuals of European ancestry from the United States, United Kingdom, and Iceland account for 16% of the world's population, but represent more than 80% of all genome-wide association studies. South Asia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa together account for 57% of the world population but less than 5% of genome-wide association studies. Implications of this difference include limitations in new variant discovery, inaccurate interpretation of the effect of genetic variants in non-European populations, and unequal access to genomic testing and novel therapies in resource-poor regions. It also further introduces ethical, legal, and social pitfalls, and ultimately may propagate global health inequities. Ongoing efforts to reduce the imbalance in low-resource regions include funding and capacity building, population-based genome sequencing, population-based genome registries, and genetic research networks. More funding, training, and capacity building for infrastructure and expertise is needed in resource-poor regions. Rationale & Objective: Clinical decision-making priorities may differ among children, their parents, and their clinicians. This study describes clinicians' perspectives on shared decision making in pediatric chronic kidney disease (CKD) and identifies opportunities to improve shared decision making and care for children with CKD and their families., Study Design: Semistructured interviews., Setting & Participants: Fifty clinicians participated, including pediatric nephrologists, nurses, social workers, surgeons, dietitians, and psychologists involved in providing care to children with CKD. They worked at 18 hospitals and 4 university research departments across 11 countries (United States of America, Canada, Australia, People's Republic of China, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand, and Singapore)., Analytical Approach: Interview transcripts were analyzed thematically., Results: We identified 4 themes: (1) striving to blend priorities (minimizing treatment burden, emphasizing clinical long-term risks, achieving common goals), (2) focusing on medical responsibilities (carrying decisional burden and pressure of expectations, working within system constraints, ensuring safety is foremost concern), (3) collaborating to achieve better long-term outcomes (individualizing care, creating partnerships, encouraging ownership and participation in shared decision making, sensitive to parental distress), and (4) forming cumulative knowledge (balancing reassurance and realistic expectations, building understanding around treatment, harnessing motivation for long-term goals)., Limitations: Most clinicians were from high-income countries, so the transferability of the findings to other settings is uncertain., Conclusions: Clinicians reported striving to minimize treatment burden and working with children and their families to manage their expectations and support their decision making. However, they are challenged with system constraints and sometimes felt the pressure of being responsible for the child's long-term outcomes. Background: More than 50% of children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have uncontrolled hypertension, increasing their long-term risk of cardiovascular disease and progression to kidney failure. Children receiving medications or dialysis may also experience acute blood pressure fluctuations accompanied by debilitating symptoms. We aimed to describe the perspectives of children with CKD and their parental caregivers on blood pressure to inform patient-centered care., Methods: Secondary thematic analysis was conducted on qualitative data from the Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology-Children and Adolescents initiative, encompassing 16 focus groups, an international Delphi survey and two consensus workshops. We analyzed responses from children with CKD (ages 8-21 years) and caregivers (of children ages 0-21 years) pertaining to blood pressure., Results: Overall, 120 patients and 250 caregivers from 22 countries participated. We identified five themes: invisibility and normalization (reassured by apparent normotension, absence of symptoms and expected links with CKD), confused by ambiguity (hypertension indistinguishable from cardiovascular disease, questioning the need for prophylactic intervention, frustrated by inconsistent messages and struggling with technical skills in measurement), enabling monitoring and maintaining health (gaging well-being and preventing vascular complications), debilitating and constraining daily living (provoking anxiety and agitation, helpless and powerless and limiting life activities) and burden of medications (overwhelmed by the quantity of tablets and distress from unexpected side effects)., Conclusions: For children with CKD and their caregivers, blood pressure was an important heath indicator, but uncertainty around its implications and treatment hampered management. Background: Information on the course of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is limited., Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the presentation and outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with CKD followed at any of the four pediatric nephrology centers in New Delhi from April 2020 to June 2021. Outcomes, including cardiopulmonary and renal complications, were reported in relation to underlying disease category and illness severity at presentation., Results: Underlying illness in 88 patients included nephrotic syndrome (50%), other CKD stages 1-4 (18.2%), CKD 5D (17%), and CKD 5T (14.8%). Thirty-two of 61 patients with symptomatic COVID-19 and 9/27 asymptomatic patients were admitted for median 10 (interquartile range 7-15) days. Seventeen (19.3%) patients developed moderate or severe COVID-19. Systemic complications, observed in 30 (34.1%), included acute kidney injury (AKI, 34.2%), COVID-19 pneumonia (15.9%), unrelated pulmonary disease (2.3%), and shock (4.5%). Nineteen (21.6%) had severe complications (AKI stage 2-3, encephalopathy, respiratory failure, shock). Eight (11%) of twelve (16.4%) patients with severe AKI required dialysis. Three (3.4%) patients, two with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome in relapse and one with CKD 1-4, died due to respiratory failure. Univariate logistic regression indicated that patients presenting with nephrotic syndrome in relapse or moderate to severe COVID-19 were at risk of AKI (respective odds ratio, 95%CI: 3.62, 1.01-12.99; 4.58, 1.06-19.86) and/or severe complications (respective odds ratio, 95%CI: 5.92, 1.99-17.66; 61.2, 6.99-536.01)., Conclusions: Children with CKD presenting with moderate-to-severe COVID-19 or in nephrotic syndrome relapse are at risk of severe complications, including severe AKI and mortality. Objective: To describe the perspectives on life participation by young adults with childhood-onset chronic kidney disease (CKD)., Design: Semi-structured interviews; thematic analysis., Setting: Multiple centres across six countries (Australia, Canada, India, UK, USA and New Zealand)., Participants: Thirty young adults aged 18 to 35 years diagnosed with CKD during childhood., Results: We identified six themes: struggling with daily restrictions (debilitating symptoms and side effects, giving up valued activities, impossible to attend school and work, trapped in a medicalised life, overprotected by adults and cautious to avoid health risks); lagging and falling behind (delayed independence, failing to keep up with peers and socially inept); defeated and hopeless (incapacitated by worry, an uncertain and bleak future, unworthy of relationships and low self-esteem and shame); reorienting plans and goals (focussing on the day-to-day, planning parenthood and forward and flexible planning); immersing oneself in normal activities (refusing to miss out, finding enjoyment, determined to do what peers do and being present at social events); and striving to reach potential and seizing opportunities (encouragement from others, motivated by the illness, establishing new career goals and grateful for opportunities)., Conclusions: Young adults encounter lifestyle limitations and missed school and social opportunities as a consequence of developing CKD during childhood and as a consequence lack confidence and social skills, are uncertain of the future, and feel vulnerable. Some re-adjust their goals and become more determined to participate in 'normal' activities to avoid missing out. Rationale & Objective: The inconsistency in outcomes reported and lack of patient-reported outcomes across trials in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) limits shared decision making. As part of the Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology (SONG)-Kids initiative, we aimed to generate a consensus-based prioritized list of critically important outcomes to be reported in all trials in children with CKD., Study Design: An online 2-round Delphi survey in English, French, and Hindi languages., Settings & Participants: Patients (aged 8-21 years), caregivers/family, and health care professionals (HCPs) rated the importance of outcomes using a 9-point Likert scale (7-9 indicating critical importance) and completed a Best-Worst Scale., Analytical Approach: We assessed the absolute and relative importance of outcomes. Comments were analyzed thematically., Results: 557 participants (72 [13%] patients, 132 [24%] caregivers, and 353 [63%] HCPs) from 48 countries completed round 1 and 312 (56%) participants (28 [40%] patients, 64 [46%] caregivers, and 220 [56%] HCPs) completed round 2. Five outcomes were common in the top 10 for each group: mortality, kidney function, life participation, blood pressure, and infection. Caregivers and HCPs rated cardiovascular disease higher than patients. Patients gave lower ratings to all outcomes compared with caregivers/HCPs except they rated life participation (round 2 mean difference, 0.1), academic performance (0.1), mobility (0.4), and ability to travel (0.4) higher than caregivers and rated ability to travel (0.4) higher than HCPs. We identified 3 themes: alleviating disease and treatment burden, focusing on the whole child, and resolving fluctuating and conflicting goals., Limitations: Most participants completed the survey in English., Conclusions: Mortality, life participation, kidney function, and blood pressure were consistently highly prioritized by patients, caregivers, and HCPs. Patients gave higher priority to some lifestyle-related outcomes compared with caregivers/HCPs. Trials in children with chronic kidney disease do not consistently report outcomes that are critically important to patients and caregivers. This can diminish the relevance and reliability of evidence for decision making, limiting the implementation of results into practice and policy. As part of the Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology-Children and Adolescents (SONG-Kids) initiative, we convened 2 consensus workshops in San Diego, California (7 patients, 24 caregivers, 43 health professionals) and Melbourne, Australia (7 patients, 23 caregivers, 49 health professionals). This report summarizes the discussions on the identification and implementation of the SONG-Kids core outcomes set. Four themes were identified; survival and life participation are common high priority goals, capturing the whole child and family, ensuring broad relevance across the patient journey, and requiring feasible and valid measures. Stakeholders supported the inclusion of mortality, infection, life participation, and kidney function as the core outcomes domains for children with chronic kidney disease., (Copyright © 2020. Rationale & Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has wide-ranging and long-term consequences for young people and their families. The omission of outcomes that are important to young people with CKD and their caregivers limits knowledge to guide shared decision making. We aimed to identify the outcomes that are important to young people with CKD and their caregivers., Study Design: We used the nominal group technique whereby participants identified and ranked outcomes and explained their priorities., Settings & Participants: Young people with CKD (stages 1-5, dialysis, or transplantation) and their caregivers were purposively sampled from 6 centers across Australia, the United States, and Canada., Analytical Approach: Importance scores were calculated (scale of 0-1), and qualitative data were analyzed thematically., Results: 34 patients (aged 8-21 years) and 62 caregivers participated in 16 groups and identified 48 outcomes. The 5 highest ranked outcomes for patients were survival (importance score, 0.25), physical activity (0.24), fatigue (0.20), lifestyle restrictions (0.20), and growth (0.20); and for caregivers, kidney function (0.53), survival (0.28), infection (0.22), anemia (0.20), and growth (0.17). 12 themes were identified reflecting their immediate and current priorities (wanting to feel normal, strengthening resilience, minimizing intrusion into daily life, imminent threats to life, devastating family burdens, and seeking control over health) and considerations regarding future impacts (protecting health/development, remaining hopeful, concern for limited opportunities, prognostic uncertainty, dreading painful and invasive procedures, and managing expectations)., Limitations: Only English-speaking participants were recruited., Conclusions: Kidney function, infection, survival, and growth were the highest priorities for patients with CKD and their caregivers. Background & Objectives: Effective communication and shared decision making improve quality of care and patient outcomes but can be particularly challenging in pediatric chronic disease because children depend on their parents and clinicians to manage complex health care and developmental needs. We aimed to describe the perspectives of children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their parents with regard to communication and decision making., Study Design: Qualitative study., Setting & Participants: Children with CKD (n=34) and parents (n=62) from 6 centers across 6 cities in Australia, Canada, and the United States participated in 16 focus groups., Analytical Approach: Transcripts were analyzed thematically., Results: We identified 4 themes: (1) disempowered by knowledge imbalance (unprepared and ill-informed, suspicion of censorship, and inadequacy as technicians), (2) recognizing own expertise (intuition and instinct unique to parental bond, emerging wisdom and confidence, identifying opportunities for control and inclusion, and empowering participation in children), (3) striving to assert own priorities (negotiating broader life impacts, choosing to defer decisional burden, overprotected and overruled, and struggling to voice own preferences), and (4) managing child's involvement (respecting child's expertise, attributing "risky" behaviors to rebellion, and protecting children from illness burden)., Limitations: Only English-speaking participants were recruited, which may limit the transferability of the findings. We collected data from child and parent perspectives; however, clinician perspectives may provide further understanding of the difficulties of communication and decision making in pediatrics., Conclusions: Parents value partnership with clinicians and consider long-term and quality-of-life implications of their child's illness. Children with CKD want more involvement in treatment decision making but are limited by vulnerability, fear, and uncertainty. There is a need to support the child to better enable him or her to become a partner in decision making and prepare him or her for adulthood. Introduction: This study sought to determine the prevalence and predictors of peripheral neuropathy in nondiabetic children with chronic kidney disease (CKD)., Methods: Fifty-one consecutive normally nourished children, 3-18 years of age, with CKD stages IV and V of nondiabetic etiology were enrolled from May to December 2012. Nerve conduction studies were performed in 50 children. Blood samples were analyzed for the biochemical parameters, trace elements, and micronutrients., Results: The prevalence of peripheral neuropathy in our cohort was 52% (95% confidence interval 37.65, 66.34). The majority (80.8%) of the children had axonal neuropathy, and 11.5% had demyelinating neuropathy. Isolated motor neuropathy was identified in 92.3% of the children, and sensorimotor neuropathy was identified in 7.6%. The significant risk factors associated with peripheral neuropathy were older age, low serum copper, and dialysis therapy., Discussion: Electrodiagnostic studies should be performed in children with CKD to assess for peripheral neuropathy for the purpose of optimizing medical care. Objective: To determine the range and heterogeneity of outcomes reported in randomized controlled trials of interventions for children with chronic kidney disease (CKD)., Study Design: The Cochrane Kidney and Transplant Specialized Register was searched to March 2016. Randomized trials involving children across all stages of CKD were selected. All outcome domains and measurements were extracted from included trials. The frequency and characteristics of the outcome domains and measures were evaluated., Results: From 205 trials included, 6158 different measurements of 100 different outcome domains were reported, with a median of 22 domains per trial (IQR 13-41). Overall, 52 domains (52%) were surrogate, 38 (38%) were clinical, and 10 (10%) were patient-reported. The 5 most commonly reported domains were blood pressure (76 [37%] trials), relapse/remission (70 [34%]), kidney function (66 [32%]), infection (61 [30%]), and height/pubertal development (51 [25%]). Mortality (14%), cardiovascular disease (4%), and quality of life (1%) were reported infrequently. The 2 most frequently reported outcomes, blood pressure and relapse/remission, had 56 and 81 different outcome measures, respectively., Conclusions: The outcomes reported in clinical trials involving children with CKD are extremely heterogeneous and are most often surrogate outcomes, rather than clinical and patient-centered outcomes such as cardiovascular disease and quality of life. Efforts to ensure consistent reporting of outcomes that are important to patients and clinicians will improve the value of trials to guide clinical decision-making. Background: Children with chronic kidney disease (CKD), requiring dialysis or kidney transplantation, have a mortality rate of up to 30-fold higher than the general aged-matched population, and severely impaired quality of life. Symptoms such as fatigue and pain are prevalent and debilitating. Children with CKD are at risk of cognitive impairment, and poorer educational, vocational, and psychosocial outcomes compared with their well peers, which have consequences through to adulthood. Treatment regimens for children with CKD are long-term, complex, and highly intrusive. While many trials have been conducted to improve outcomes in children with CKD, the outcomes measured and reported are often not relevant to patients and clinicians, and are highly variable. These problems can diminish the value of trials as a means to improve the lives of children with CKD. The Standardised Outcomes in Nephrology-Children and Adolescents (SONG-Kids) study aims to develop a core outcome set for trials in children and adolescents with any stage of CKD that is based on the shared priorities of all stakeholders., Methods/design: SONG-Kids involves five phases: a systematic review to identify outcomes (both domains and measures) that have been reported in randomised controlled trials involving children aged up to 21 years with CKD; focus groups (using nominal group technique) with adolescent patients and caregivers of paediatric patients (all ages) to identify outcomes that are relevant and important to patients and their family and the reasons for their choices; semistructured key informant interviews with health professionals involved in the care of children with CKD to ascertain their views on establishing core outcomes in paediatric nephrology; an international three-round online Delphi survey with patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, policy-makers, and members from industry to develop consensus on important outcome domains; and a stakeholder workshop to review and finalise the set of core outcome domains for trials in children with CKD (including nondialysis-dependent, dialysis, and kidney transplantation)., Discussion: Establishing a core outcome set to be reported in all trials conducted in children with any stage of CKD will enhance the relevance, transparency, and impact of research to improve the lives of children and adolescents with CKD.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) predisposes to accelerated atherosclerosis that is measured by carotid artery intima-media thickness (cIMT) and brachial artery flow-mediated dilation (FMD). Information on the association of these parameters with dyslipidemia in pre-dialysis pediatric CKD is limited., Methods: Eighty patients aged 9.9 ± 3.2 years, with estimated glomerular filtration rate of 38.8 ± 10.8 ml/1.73 m(2)/min, and 42 pediatric controls underwent cross-sectional analysis of lipid profile, cIMT, and brachial artery FMD. Significant differences in these parameters between patients and controls were analyzed using Student's t test. Predictors of cIMT and dyslipidemia were assessed using linear and logistic regression respectively., Results: Patients had elevated blood levels of triglyceride and of total and LDL cholesterol than controls (P ≤ 0.001); 73.8 % were dyslipidemic. Mean cIMT was higher (0.421 ± 0.054 mm vs 0.388 ± 0.036 mm, P = 0.001) and brachial artery FMD was reduced (10.6 ± 4.9 % vs 18.9 ± 4.1 %, P < 0.0001) in patients compared with controls. On multivariate analysis, hypertension (OR 3.68, P = 0.044) and male gender (OR 10.21, P = 0.004) were associated with dyslipidemia; cIMT was significantly associated with LDL cholesterol (β = 28.36, P = 0.033)., Conclusion: Dyslipidemia was prevalent and cIMT significantly elevated in pre-dialysis pediatric CKD, indicating increased cardiovascular risk. Elevated LDL cholesterol predicted increased cIMT, strengthening the association between dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis in early CKD.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of enalapril treatment on decline in glomerular filtration rate and reduction in proteinuria in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD)., Design: Open-label, randomized controlled trial., Setting: Pediatric nephrology clinic at a tertiary-care referral hospital., Intervention: Children with GFR between 15-60 mL/min/1.73 m2 were randomized to receive either enalapril at 0.4 mg/kg /day or no enalapril for 1 year., Outcome Measures: Change in GFR using 99mTc-DTPA and urine protein to creatinine ratio. Secondary outcomes included occurrence of composite outcome (30% decline in GFR or end stage renal disease) and systolic and diastolic blood pressure SDS during the study period., Results: 41 children were randomized into two groups; 20 received enalapril while 21 did not receive enalapril. During 1 year, GFR decline was not different in the two groups (regression coefficient (r) 0.40, 95% CI -4.29 to 5.09, P=0.86). The mean proteinuria reduction was 65% in the enalapril group, significantly higher than control group. The difference was significant even after adjustment for blood pressure was 198.5 (CI 97.5, 299.3; P<0.001). 3 (17.6%) patients in enalapril and 7 (36.8%) in non-enalapril group attained the composite outcome., Conclusions: Enalapril is effective in reducing proteinuria in children with CKD and might be renoprotective in proteinuric CKD.
