Memoria presentada por Yolanda de Pro Díaz para el Máster de Recursos Minerales y Riesgos Geológicos por la Universitat de Barcerlona (UB) y la Universitat Autònoma de Barcerlona (UAB), realizada bajo la dirección del Dr. Roger Urgeles Esclasans y del Dr. Claudio Lo Iacono del Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC).-- 25 pages, Bathymetric and seismo-acoustic data collected from the north-western Sicilian offshore (south-western Tyrrhenian Sea) were analyzed in order to identify geomorphic features and processes which might have represented a geo-hazard threat in the region. These processes include faulting, mass wasting and fluid escape. Most faults in this sector are considered to be both active and seismogenic. Despite an extensive effort has been made to map and quantify mass wasting and fluid escape features, their on-going activity could not be fully determined. The mass wasting’s most frequent expected volumes are ~0,1 km3, but the highest expected volumes are 2-3 km3, with a recurrence period of ~17 ky for the greatest volumes. It is concluded that due to the low but present risk of tsunami generation (determined in other works, e. g. Sørensen et al., 2012; Alberico et al., 2018) and the high exposition of population and infrastructures both in the coast al area and inland it is vital to keep a periodic surveillance of the geological processes in the study area
