The book Streaming Television, Necromedia, and Gore Capitalism: exploring the series Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story problematizes the visibility of extreme crimes, the mediatization of violence, and the celebrating culture of abject figures. Divided into essays, the text addresses various themes presented to the viewer, such as the cult surrounding Jeffrey Dahmer, audience reception, and platform capitalism. This review focuses on two aspects that contribute to communication research: the diverse perception of collective authorship and object-oriented analysis, which captures a phenomenon based on its conditions of possibility and generated effects. Objective: This study investigates subjective and objective interaction processes expressed in the series that can foster the construction of representations of girl power today. Methodological design: To do so, I conducted in-depth interviews with individuals who call themselves fans of the series and analyzed journalistic materials published in digital media vehicles that link the concept of girl power to the series' imaginary. Results: The results were interpreted in the light of intersectional feminism and critical marketing. I observed that the act of placing women at the center of narratives represents a shift in contemporary dramaturgy. Research limitations / implications: It is not possible to conclude that this series is feminist, as highlighted by some interviewees. This divergence arises due to conceptual mismatches between female empowerment; post-feminism; neoliberal appeals; the attitude of the characters; and those responsible for the construction of the series observed during the analysis of the study. Originality: The study unites theories from different theoretical heritages, thus stimulating different perspectives and interdisciplinary openings to understand contexts that connect marketing, consumer behavior, and consumption to feminist studies. Furthermore, it stimulates the development of critical thinking capable of impacting societies, organizations, institutions, and consumption focused on the debate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The research analyzes the construction of LGBT+ characters and plots in Spanish serial fiction shown on distribution platforms in the last decade. It uses critical discourse analysis, which is divided into macro level analysis and micro level analysis. The microanalysis is composed of topics, lexicalization and propositional framing. The results show, among others, that the majority of characters appear in marginal contexts, that recurring stereotypes continue to be used, and that LGBT+ orientation and identity are presented in a negative or ambiguous manner. The purpose of this article is to analyze how the TV series Irmão do Jorel - especially the 25th episode of the 1st season: "Fúria e Poder sobre Rodas" - helps to understand the social dynamics that involve young people and adults in the constitution of their images. The episode raises questions, such as the various manifestations of existing gender, in addition to confronting the issue of sexual identity as something that is under construction during the development of being. The diverse approaches to themes such as gender and identity, treated in an unusual way in an image product with wide access to the general public, helps to bring to light the social dynamics that involve young people and adults. The playful way of dealing with complex and delicate topics like this, brings new forms of access and approaches. The focus is on how social construction, related to gender issues, is approached in a subtle, representative and capable of causing reflections way on educational constitutive processes during childhood and youth that influence and involve the identity construction of individuals. This manuscript contains a detailed comparison between numerical solution methods of ordinary differential equations, which start from the Taylor series method of order 2, stating that this series hinders calculations for higher order derivatives of functions of several variables, so that the Runge Kutta methods of order 2 are implemented, which achieve the required purpose avoiding the cumbersome calculations of higher order derivatives. In this document, different variants of the Runge-Kutta methods of order 2 will be exposed from an introduction and demonstration of the connection of these with the Taylor series of order 2, these methods are: the method of Heun, the method of midpoint and the Ralston method. It will be observed from the solution of test differential equations its respective error with respect to the analytical solution, obtaining an error index dictated by the mean square error EMC. Through this document we will know the best numerical approximation to the analytical solution of the different PVI (initial value problems) raised, also fixing a solution pattern for certain problems, that is, the appropriate method for each type of problem will be stipulated. It was observed that the Ralston method presented greater accuracy followed by the midpoint method and the Heun method, in the other PVI it is observed that the midpoint method yields the best numerical solution since it has a very low EMC and difficult to reach by the other methods. This paper analyzes the discourse of the documentary series "Amazônia Sociedade Anônima" on the Brazilian Amazon, shown in 2015 by TV Globo's Fantástico program. As a theoretical basis, we refer to Benchimol (2009), Borges (2011), Martino (2007) and others. We used as methodology Bibliographical Research, Documentary and Discourse Analysis (AD) of french line. It is pointed to a romanticization of the Amazonia and to the fact that the social problems and conflicts derived from the aggressions to the environment, to the original, riparian, family and quilombola farmers in the Amazonia are minimized, isolated or treated as irrelevant. Caroline de Pierre Probst est une série qui a marqué les Trente Glorieuses. La petite héroïne, créée en 1953 pour la collection des « Grands albums Hachette », a accompagné au moins trois générations de lecteurs en leur proposant 44 aventures en 54 ans. Plus de la moitié de ces albums ont pour thème de fond la mobilité et le tourisme. Pierre Probst semble utiliser la série comme une « métaphore » du voyage, conformément à une proposition marquante de Michel de Certeau. Il est un géographe au sens étymologique du terme : il raconte et dessine (graphêin) la Terre (gê). Dans cet article, il sera question d’analyser les 26 albums à thématique spatiale évoqués précédemment afin de montrer que Probst est un « faiseur d’espaces » et qu’il utilise les espaces sériel, diégétique et pictural (aux échelles respectives de la série, des histoires et des images) pour faire de la série ce que nous avons décidé de nommer une « série-géographe ». Caroline by Pierre Probst is a series that marked the Glorious Thirties. The little heroine, created in 1953 for the collection « Les Grands Albums Hachette », accompagnied at least three generations of young readers with 44 adventures in 54 years. More than a half of these picturebooks have mobility and tourism as main theme. Pierre Probst seems to use the series like a « metaphor » of the journey, in accordance with an important proposal by Michel de Certeau. He is a geographer in the etymological meaning : he tales and draws (graphêin) the Earth (gê). In this paper, we will analyze the 26 picturebooks with a spatial theme in order to show that Probst is a « spaces maker » and that he uses serial, diegetical and pictorial spaces to turn the series in what we decided to call a « geographer-series ».

On peut aussi l’envisager sous un autre angle : celui d’une éblouissante réussite commerciale, due à des stratégies de déclinaisons plurimédiatiques et internationales qui ne laissent rien au hasard. Cet article explorera les deux faces de cette aventure éditoriale. The Barbapapa series, born in 1970, is often presented as the result of an unexpected creative impulse, born in a Franco-American couple and stimulated by the context of Parisian life. It can also be seen from another angle: that of a dazzling commercial success, due to multi-media and international strategies that leave nothing to chance. This article will explore the two sides of this editorial adventure.

La série des Aventures de Sylvain et Sylvette, créée par Maurice Cuvillier (1897-1957) en 1941, a dépassé les quatre-vingts ans d’existence. Cette bande dessinée diffusée d’abord dans la presse a été déclinée dans un grand nombre d’albums (295 titres, plus de vingt millions d’exemplaires vendus). Pour toutes ces raisons, elle méritait d’être enfin prise en compte dans l’histoire de la littérature pour la jeunesse. Mais une autre raison s’ajoute à celles-ci : l’intérêt de cette série, moins simple qu’il n’y paraît. Elle présente deux enfants perdus dans les bois, un frère et une sœur, qui y vivraient heureux dans leur chaumière en compagnie de quelques animaux apprivoisés s’ils n’étaient pas harcelés par un groupe d’animaux sauvages, les compères. Ceux-ci (loup, renard, etc.) rapprochent la série du conte et de la fable, tandis que l’isolement des héros l’associe à la robinsonnade. L’intemporalité du conte est brouillée par des ancrages dans la modernité. La visée éducative y est forte, tant à travers la présentation des comportements des enfants entre eux, des animaux les uns vis-à-vis des autres, que des enfants face aux animaux qui sont placés en situation d’enfance. La question du langage partagé ou non entre enfants et animaux est très intéressante et montre que les animaux ennemis pourraient être une métaphore du monde adulte et de ses dangers. Série traversée par de nombreux phénomènes d’intertextualité et de décrochages temporels, elle met en œuvre un art de la simplicité, proposant à son public une éducation à la lecture dans un cadre fixe et rassurant. Les aventures de Sylvain et Sylvette, a series created by Maurice Cuvillier (1897-1957) in 1941, has now been running for more than eighty years. This comic strip series first appeared in the press and was later published in a long series of picturebooks, for a total of 295 titles and more than twenty million copies sold. It deserves to be considered in the history of children’s literature for these reasons. But there is an additional reason: the series is less simple than it appears. It depicts two children lost in the woods, a brother and sister. They would have a happy life in their thatched cottage, together with some tame animals, if they were not being harassed by a group of wild animals, the “old pals”. The group’s members (a wolf, a fox, etc.) link the series to the fairy tale and the fable, while the heroes’ isolation draws it close to the robinsonade. The timelessness associated with fairy tales is blurred by references to modern life. There is a strong educational intent, both in the presentation of the children’s behaviour among themselves, the animals’ behaviour among themselves and that of the children towards the animals, who are treated as if they were children. The question of language being shared or not between children and animals is highly interesting, showing that the hostile animals could be a metaphor for the adult world and its dangers. The series is traversed by many examples of intertextuality and of changing timeframes, yet exploits an art of simplicity, teaching its public to read in a stable and reassuring framework.

Shirley Hughes published six picturebooks about siblings Lucy and Tom between 1960 and 1987. The set of connected titles fulfills a major condition of being a series: the stories are related and feature the same characters. But the books do not follow the kind of set pattern of seriality that we normally expect: they do not follow each other in a predictable sequence, nor do they abandon sequence for reiteration and repetition of an unchanging story time. This article investigates how these books relate to each other in terms of occupying a “big world” that overflows the boundaries of a single title. It explores their condition of existing “beside” each other instead of before or after and instead of simple reiteration. Finally, it examines what these books offer to the novice interpreters who engage with them. Shirley Hughes a publié six albums centrés sur Lucy et Tom, deux jeunes sœur et frère d’une famille anglaise, entre 1960 et 1987. L’ensemble de ces titres remplit une condition majeure pour être une série : les histoires sont liées et présentent les mêmes personnages. Mais les livres ne suivent pas le type de schéma de sérialité auquel nous nous attendons ordinairement : ils ne se suivent pas dans une suite prévisible, et ils n’abandonnent pas non plus la suite pour la réitération et la répétition d’une temporalité narrative immuable. Cet article étudie comment ces livres se rapportent les uns aux autres en termes d’occupation d’un « grand monde » qui déborde les limites d’un seul titre. Il explore leur propriété d’exister « à côté » l’un de l’autre plutôt qu’« avant », « après » ou « encore ». Enfin, il examine ce que ces livres offrent aux interprètes novices qui s’y livrent.

Cet article se propose de s’attacher au phénomène des séries dans le domaine de la bande dessinée pour enfants en prenant appui sur la série des Marion Duval qui, de par sa longévité, occupe une place particulière dans l’œuvre d’Yvan Pommaux. En appui sur la réception des albums par des lecteurs actifs notamment dans la blogosphère, il s’agira d’essayer de comprendre ce phénomène éditorial et de montrer comment se construit autour de l’héroïne un monde fictif à la fois ancré dans le réel et ouvert aux aventures les plus rocambolesques. Cette analyse permet un regard transversal sur la prégnance emblématique de la bande dessinée et de la création sérielle dans une œuvre d’auteur à la fois très diversifiée et très organique. This article proposes to focus on the phenomenon of series in the field of children’s comics, taking as a starting point the Marion Duval series which, due to its longevity, occupies a special place in the work of Yvan Pommaux. Based on the reception of the series by readers talking about their reception mainly online, the aim is to understand this publishing phenomenon and to show how the series builds around the heroine a fictional world that is both anchored in reality and open to the most unbelievable adventures. This analysis allows a transversal look at the emblematic influence of comics and serial creation in an author’s work that is both very diverse and very organic.

Les albums de Dora l’exploratrice participent d’une vaste production plurimédiatique dont la conception, inspirée des jeux vidéo, repose sur la notion d’interactivité ; cette notion est ici discutée dans la mesure où elle est confondue avec la réponse à des stimuli et surtout où l’album imprimé ne permet pas au lecteur d’intervenir dans le récit. La mise en avant de cette interactivité sert à légitimer des albums qui ne présentent fondamentalement pas de caractère novateur, sinon dans le choix d’un personnage, Dora Marquez, issue de ce que l’on nomme aujourd’hui la « diversité ». Ces histoires, qui bénéficient d’une grande faveur auprès de très jeunes enfants, semblent davantage encore plaire aux parents et aux médiateurs, qui en apprécient la dimension morale et éducative. Dora the Explorer’s picturebooks are part of a vast multi-media production whose design, inspired by video games, is based on the notion of interactivity ; this notion is discussed here to the extent that it is confused with the response to stimuli and especially that the printed picturebooks does not allow the reader to intervene in the narrative. The emphasis on this interactivity serves to legitimize picturebooks that are fundamentally not innovative, except in the selection of a character, Dora Marquez, from what is now called “diversity”. These stories, which receive great favour among very young children, seem even more appealing to parents and mediators, who appreciate their moral and educational dimension.

Resumo: Neste artigo, discuto masculinidade em mulheres por meio da análise de uma personagem oriunda de uma série de Video On Demand. Com base no conceito de anômalo de Deleuze e Guattari e na teoria performativa de Butler, a personagem Maggie, da série Godless, foi aqui investigada. A partir do exercício analítico operado, dois eixos teórico-analíticos foram concebidos. O primeiro, voltado para a relação entre abjeção e anômalo, o segundo, a partir da desterritorialização de Maggie, que a constituiu enquanto fenômeno de borda. Como efeito, Maggie colocou em questão a própria abjeção enquanto efeito inevitável no processo de constituição do corpo ambíguo, de modo a compor o que nomeei, com base na teoria deleuzo-guattariana, devir-sapatão. Abstract: This paper discusses masculinity in women through the analysis of a character from a Video On Demand series. Based on the anomalous concept of Deleuze and Guattari and Butler’s concept of gender performativity, Maggie, a character from Godless, is here investigated. Two theoretical-analytical categories were conceived. The first was focused on the relationship between abjection and anomalous, the second, based on the deterritorialization of Maggie that constituted her as a border phenomenon. As an effect, Maggie did put in question the process of abjection itself as an inevitable effect of the constitution of an ambiguous body, which led her to compose what I have named, based on the Deleuzo-Guattarian theory, becoming-dyke. Resumen: Este artículo trata sobre la masculinidad en mujeres a través del análisis de un personaje de una serie de Video On Demand. Partiendo del concepto anómalo de Deleuze y Guattari y la teoría performativa de Butler, aquí se investiga el personaje Maggie, de la serie Godless. A partir del ejercicio analítico operado se concibieron dos ejes teórico-analíticos. El primero, centrado en la relación entre abyección y anómalo, el segundo, basado en la desterritorialización de Maggie que la constituía como un fenómeno de borde. Como efecto, Maggie cuestionó la abyección en sí misma como un efecto inevitable en el proceso de constitución del cuerpo ambiguo, para componer lo que he denominado, con base en la teoría deleuzo-guattariana, devenir-sapatão.

« Je m’appelle Justice. Dr Benjamin Justice. Médecin attaché à l’OMS. Un médecin volant en quelque sorte. Abonné aux lignes aériennes internationales » : c’est ainsi que se présente régulièrement le personnage de bandes dessinées créé par Jean Ollivier et Raffaele Marcello pour le magazine Pif Gadget. Ce médecin de l’OMS, pratiquant les arts martiaux, guidé par les enseignements de son maître shaolin comme le héros de la série Kung Fu au début des années 1970, apparaît pour la première fois dans le numéro 69 de juin 1970. C’est, d’après les propres mots de Jean Ollivier, un « médecin errant ». Au fil des 124 épisodes de la série, il parcourt le monde, se rendant sur tous les « points chauds » de la planète des années 1970-1980. Pendant vingt ans, la série Docteur Justice a su s’adresser à un lectorat de jeunes adolescents et lui montrer l’actualité brûlante, lui donnant le pouls du monde dans lequel il s’apprêtait à vivre et à trouver sa place. La série a ainsi participé à la construction d’un capital culturel et spatial pour les jeunes lecteurs de Pif Gadget. Elle leur a fourni des ressources spatiales matérielles, immatérielles et idéelles qu’ils pourront mobiliser pour habiter le monde. Ollivier et Marcello ont conçu une série que je qualifierais de « géographe » dans la mesure où elle fait « acte de géographe ». Le récit iconotextuel délivre des informations géographiques qui peuvent modifier le regard du lecteur. En en analysant les 124 récits et le rapport texte/image, cet article veut montrer que cette série est bel et bien une « série-géographe » et que Benjamin Justice est un « habitant du Monde, habitant mobile et multiple résident ». « My name is Justice. Dr Benjamin Justice. WHO Doctor attaché. A sort of flying doctor. Subscribed to the international airlines »: this is how the French doctor introduces himself at each beginning of one of his adventures. The comics character was created by Jean Ollivier and Raffaele Marcello for Pif Gadget Magazine. This WHO doctor, practicing martial arts, guided by his shaolin master’s lessons, like the hero of the series Kung Fu at the begining of the 1970s, appears for the first time in the issue number 69 on June 1970. He is, according to Jean Ollivier, a « wandering doctor ». All along the 126 episodes of the series, he travels all over the world and goes on all the hotspots of the planet in 1970s-1980s. During 20 years, the series « Dr Justice » could speak to young teen readers and show them the warming actuality and giving them the pulse of the world in which they were going to live in and find their place. So the series participated to the construction of a cultural and spatial capital for the young readers of Pif Gadget. The series provides them with some spatial material, unmaterial and mental ressources that they will be able to mobilize so that to live in the world. Ollivier and Marcello conceived a series that we could qualify of « geographer » in so far as it is a geographer act. The iconotextual narrative gives some geographical informations that can modify the reader’s vision. With the analysis of the 126 stories and the relationship between text and image in the series, this article wants to show that this series is really a « geographer-series » and that Benjamin Justice is an « inhabitant of the World, a mobile and multi-resident inhabitant ».

Chemical burns raise diagnostic and treatment issues because they have specific appearances and evolution. Our objective was to study the characteristics of chemical burns and to assess the quality of our treatment. This retrospective observational study examined the records of all patients admitted for chemical burns to the burn treatment center of Saint Louis Hospital in Paris from January 1, 1990, through December 31, 2015. During this period, 162 patients came to our center for chemical burn treatment. Most of them were men (67%). The majority of the burns were caused by alkalis (27%) and resulted from workplace accidents (29%). The average time before consultation was 5.36 days. The areas mainly damaged were the hands (36%) and the burn areas averaged 1.2% of the total body surface area (TBSA). Forty-eight patients had at least one deep patch. In total, 59 patients (36.4%) were hospitalized for an average duration of 4.18 days. Thirty-eight of them underwent surgery. Lastly, 92% of the operations had been anticipated from the first consultation. In our center, the population affected, the circumstances and the topography of our patients' burns were similar to the data from the literature. It appears that the principal specificity of our series is a very low body surface burned. This can be attributed to the prevention measures we have in France and underlines their importance. Only 8% of the patients who had surgery were underestimated or their burns became deeper secondarily. This number is lower than the data from other series. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

From the theoretical perspective of the Discourse Analysis (PÊCHEUX, 1969, 1975), this work aims to analyze some discursive sequences, DShenceforth, in the series "Quem sou eu?" (Who am I?), which has been broadcasted by Fantástico, between March and April of 2017. The series approached transsexuality and its relevant demands attached to the transsexual individual, such as: the "choices" of whom was born in the "wrong" body, the issue of self-medication and treatment(s), the sex reassignment surgery and the relationships in the "transgender world". The goal is to analyze how the series, which is metaphorically told by the popular child story "Alice no País das Maravilhas" (Alice in Wonderland) (Lewis Carroll), brings up transsexuality. Thus, this work intends to understand how the meaning effects are sustained - mentioned and not mentioned - in produced discourses on the topic approached in the series "Quem sou eu?" (Who am I?). El presente artículo analiza los sentidos y funcionamientos de la categoría de décalage en la teoría materialista y, en particular, en la teoría materialista de inscripción pecheutiana. Se trata de una expresión que, en español, ha recibido diversas traducciones: “distanciamiento”, “desplazamiento”, “ruptura”, desajuste”, “desfasaje”. En términos epistemológicos, coloca un problema relevante para comprender la teoría pecheutiana, en particular, en lo que atañe al concepto de discurso, entendido por la relación estructural entre dos instancias distintas: interdiscurso e intradiscurso. En trabajo se organiza en tres secciones. En primer lugar, se presentan tres series de recortes textuales extraídos de Para leer El Capital [Lire Le Capital] (2004 [1967]), por la relevancia que esta publicación de Althusser y Balibar presenta para una aproximación materialista al problema del décalage. En segundo lugar, el trabajo se detiene en Las verdades evidentes, traducción al español de Les vérités de La Palice (Pêcheux, 1975). Finalmente, se despliega un conjunto de consideraciones relativas al modo en que el problema del décalage permite revisar aspectos del campo del “análisis del discurso de vertiente francesa”. This paper discusses the senses and functions of the décalage category in materialist theory and, in particular, in the materialist Pecheux theory. This term has received in Spanish various translations: “distanciamiento”, “desplazamiento”, “ruptura”, desajuste”, “desfasaje”. In epistemological terms, it places a relevant problem for Pêcheux theory, in particular as regards the concept of discourse, understood by the structural relationship between two distinct zones or levels: interdiscourse and intradiscourse. The work is organized in three sections. First, three series of textual formulations taken from To Read The Capital [Lire Le Capital] (2004 [1967]) are analyzed, due to the relevance that this publication of Althusser and Balibar presents for a materialist approach to the problem of décalage. Secondly, the paper works this question in Las verdades evidentes, Spanish language translation of Les vérités de La Palice (Pécheux, 1975). Finally, a set of considerations are presented concerning how the problem of décalage allows to review aspects of the field of “french discourse analysis”.

En el presente trabajo se hace un repaso de su obra de microficción, del tratamiento de la temporalidad y la incertidumbre como mecanismo disparador de la escritura y se analiza "Serie 201", un conjunto de textos breves que despliegan un tratamiento de lo ominoso en el sentido freudiano entramado con ciertos rasgos constitutivos de lo fantástico.When perusing Luisa Valenzuela's broad work, the reader can trace the central lines of the texts, the relationship among them and the differences and similarities between her earlier writings of past decades and her current production. This paper provides an overview of her microfictions, the treatment of temporality and uncertainty, the last one as a trigger mechanism. It also analyses the writing of "Serie 201", a set of short texts that displays an ominous treatment in a Freudian sense intertwined with traits of the fantastic genre.

O texto traz o histórico e a evolução dos campos 4XX - Séries do Formato MARC 21 para Dados Bibliográficos. Aborda a recente mudança que tornou obsoleto o campo 440 em favor dos campos 490 e 800-830. Ilustra a aplicação dos campos 490 e 800-830 em registros bibliográficos por meio de exemplos, relacionando-os com as regras do Código de Catalogação Anglo-Americano, 2ª edição e descreve o impacto desta mudança nos catálogos bibliográficos.This text presents the history and evolution of the fields 4XX - Series statement fields of the MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data. Recent change is discussed about the field 440 which was substituted by the fields 490 and 800-830. The application of the fields 490 and 800-830 is illustrated in the bibliographic records by examples mentioning their relation to the norms of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition, describing the impact of this change on bibliographic catalogs.

« Audacieuse », « originale », « novatrice », « réaliste », « unique », la doxa médiatique ne manque pas de qualificatifs laudatifs pour faire l’éloge de tout un ensemble de séries télévisées actuelles qui, depuis une dizaine d’années, à l’en croire, seraient toujours plus singulières et en phase avec les préoccupations des publics auxquelles elles s’adressent. Au-delà de ce mode de légitimation culturelle, il est un aspect qui distingue indiscutablement ces séries de leurs antécédents historiques : la place de premier plan que peuvent y occuper les personnages de femme, comme dans Desperate Housewives (2004-2012), Alias (2001-2006), The L Word (2004-2009), The Good Wife (créée en 2009), Veep (créée en 2012) ou encore Scandal (créée en 2012). Mais ce phénomène de « prolifération féminine » a-t-il pour autant contribué à pluraliser ou même à infléchir les identifications de genre et les conceptions de la sexualité que ces fictions ont l’habitude de proposer au public de femmes auquel elles se destinent prioritairement ? Cette contribution vise à explorer cette question en se penchant sur deux réalisations emblématiques du discours encenseur qui accompagne la production sérielle contemporaine : Homeland et Girls. À partir de l’analyse des représentations genrées issues ces deux productions, qui fait également intervenir des éléments d’ordre paratextuel, l’auteur interroge le regard que portent ces séries sur leurs personnages féminins en vue d’évaluer dans quelle mesure elles questionnent, transgressent ou confortent les normes dominantes en matière de conduite genrée. ‘Bold’, ‘original’, ‘groundbreaking’, ‘realistic’, ‘unique’ : those are some of the laudatory adjectives commonly used by the medias to praise a set of recent TV shows, which, for ten years and according to those medias, are deeply singular and in tune with the concerns of the audience they are aimed at. Beyond this mode of cultural legitimation, there is undoubtedly an aspect that distinguishes these series from their historical antecedents : the prominence given to female characters, as in Desperate Housewives (2004-2012), Alias (2001-2006), The L Word (2004-2009), The Good Wife (created in 2009), Veep (created in 2012) and Scandal (created in 2012). But has this phenomenon of ‘female proliferation’ contributed to pluralize or even to weight on the gender identifications and the concepts of sexuality that these fictions are accustomed to offer to the audience of women to which they are primarily destined ? This contribution aims to explore this issue by focusing on two contemporary series that are paradigmatic of the laudatory discourse that accompanies these productions : Homeland and Girls. By analyzing the gendered identities conveyed by those two shows, on a textual as well as on a paratextual level, the author interrogates the way those series represent their female characters to assess to what extent Homeland and Girls question, destabilize or reinforce the dominant standards of gendered behavior.

This paper discusses masculinity in women and lesbianity on a Tv show through an analysis on the character Nan, from the Tv show Tipping The Velvet (2002). To this end, it rescues the concept of anomalous (DELEUZE & GUATTARI, 1997) and the performative theory (BUTLER, 2013), in order to enable a discussion about the resistance to abjection as a process and the emergence of the anomalous. The theoretical and methodological perspective also includes the screen ethnography (RIAL, 2004). From the analytical exercise performed, Nan was conceived as facing the anomalous, being summoned to forge an alliance with a Drag King character. Consequently, Nan redefined the limits of gender and sexuality intelligibility, producing what I have named, based on the Deleuzean theory, becoming-dyke. Este artículo analiza la masculinidad en la mujer y la lesbianidad a través de un ejercicio analítico sobre el personaje Nan, de la miniserie de televisión Amor na Ponta da Língua (2002). Por tanto, rescata el concepto de anómalo (DELEUZE & GUATTARI, 1997) y la teoría performativa (BUTLER, 2013), para permitir una discusión sobre la resistencia a la abyección y la emergencia de lo anómalo. La perspectiva teórica y metodológica de este texto también comprende la etnografía en pantalla (RIAL, 2004). A partir del ejercicio analítico realizado, Nan fue concebida como frente a lo anómalo, convocada para forjar una alianza con un personaje Drag King. En consecuencia, Nan redefinió los límites de la inteligibilidad del género y la sexualidad, produciendo lo que llamé, basado en la teoría deleuzeana, devenir-dique. Este artigo discute masculinidade em mulheres e lesbianidade em um produto audiovisual, por meio de um exercício analítico operado sobre a personagem Nan, da minissérie televisiva Amor na Ponta da Língua (2002). Para tanto, resgata o conceito de anômalo (DELEUZE & GUATTARI, 1997) e a teoria performativa (BUTLER, 2013), de modo a possibilitar uma discussão sobre a resistência à abjeção e emergência do anômalo. A etnografia de tela (RIAL, 2004) compõe a metodologia. A partir do exercício analítico operado, Nan foi concebida como em face do anômalo, convocada a forjar uma aliança com uma personagem Drag King. Consequentemente, Nan ressignificou os limites de inteligibilidade do gênero e da sexualidade por meio do audiovisual, produzindo aquilo que nomeei, com base na teoria deleuze-guattariana, devir-sapatão.

Through a podcast series of three recordings, this bachelor's thesis deals with products that originated in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1989 and are still being produced or reproduced today. These are products that are generally known and mostly popular among the inhabitants of the Czech Republic, so even today they have a fixed place in the society and they are not just historical objects that could fall into oblivion. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the phenomenon of podcasting, especially its history, along with its significance in today's world, and outlines certain differences between podcasts and radio broadcasting. Furthermore, this section presents in detail the procedures and methods used in creating the entire podcast series, along with its detailed presentation. The practical part is the series itself called Classic with three approximately ten-minute podcast works that describe individual Czechoslovak products. Specifically, these are Prim watches, Prestige shoes and chests of drawers by designer Jiří Jiroutek. The parts include information about the history and present of the products, as well as various interviews with people who are interested in the given things, produce them, collect them or have any relevant relationship to them.
