The experiment was conducted to study the effect of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction plus or minus compound Chinese medicine preparation on milk quality and serum biochemical indexes of dairy goat. Eighteen lactating Guishan goats with similar somatic cell numbers (more than one million/mL) were randomly divided into two groups, with three replicates in each group and three goats in each replicate. The control group was refined supplement, and the test group added 3% Buzhong Yiqi Decoction plus or minus compound Chinese medicine preparation to refined supplement. The test period was 8 d. The results showed that the number of fresh milk somatic cells in test group was extremely lower than that in control group (P<0.01). The milk fat rate of the test group was extremely higher than that of control group (P<0.01). The milk protein rate was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The study indicates that adding 3% Buzhong Yiqi Decoction compound Chinese medicine preparation to diet of Guishan goats can effectively improve the quality of goat milk and prevent the occurrence of latent mastitis of dairy goats.
