We recorded the complete day/night nesting attendance of a Common Loon (Gavia immer) pair using a remote video camera. We found that the male and female share incubation duty equally, but that the female incubates primarily at night (95.8%) when the male defends the territory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
