The aim of this paper is to provide a heat power balance for a PV module to get the operating temperature and the percent-age contributions of individual heat exchange processes: radiation (shortwave and long-wave), convection and electric power generated for outdoor installation such as ground-mounted PV system. The percentage contributions are in function of incoming solar radiation. Four different cases are studied and the issues are shown in the paper as a function of tilt angle, ambient temperature and in-coming solar radiation variation. The result obtained can be used to optimize the cooling of ground-mounted PV installations and to maximize the electric energy conversion efficiency.
