Among all the ambiguity resolution techniques, the Full Ambiguity Resolution (FAR), Partial Ambiguity Resolution (PAR) and Best Integer Equivariant (BIE) estimator are widely used. Although the researches have been done on the different classes of ambiguity resolution, we still hope to find the relationships among these specific algorithms. In this work, we unify the PAR and FAR algorithms under a whole framework of BIE by applying multiple integer candidates. A concise estimation formula of the variance of Gaussian BIE estimator based on the variance of float solution and the probability distribution of the candidates is first derived. Then, we propose an algorithm named Multiple Integer Candidates Ambiguity Resolution (MICAR) to discover as many ambiguities in the BIE as possible that can be estimated more precisely by PAR (FAR) algorithm instead of BIE. In the experiments, we utilize the simulated data of GPS (Global Positioning System) + BDS (BeiDou Navigation Satellite System) + Galileo (Galileo navigation satellite system) to contrast the effects of MICAR and single candidate estimator, i.e., FAR. By taking the threshold of 5 cm at 95% confidence level as an example, MICAR accelerates the convergence process by about 3.0 min. When the positioning sequence converges, MICAR reduces the root mean square of the positioning error by 9.8% in horizontal directions and 3.5% in vertical direction, which is attributed to more fixed NL. Two new models have been recently introduced for studying the remaining rotational ambiguity in the bilinear decomposition of matrix data. One of the models is N‐BANDS, which yields two extreme profiles per sample component, corresponding to maximum or minimum signal contribution function or relative component area under its concentration profile. It is highly useful for computing the relative root mean square error due to rotational ambiguity in estimated analyte concentrations (RMSERA), which numerically quantifies the impact of the phenomenon in terms of prediction uncertainty. Since N‐BANDS successfully consider the presence of instrumental noise in the data, it is extremely useful for the analysis of real data sets. The other model is SW‐N‐BANDS, which is similar to N‐BANDS, but is applied in a sensor wise manner, that is, computing the maximum and minimum intensity value at each sensor. It provides the boundaries of the full set of feasible profiles, and helps to better understand the behavior of a given component under the application of several constraints. Both models are described in light of both simulations and experimental data, illustrating their main characteristics of importance to analytical chemistry studies. We demonstrate a rapid and high-precision dual-comb ranging method with a significantly extended non-ambiguity range (NAR). By reasonably setting the polarization combining and splitting of two optical combs, we can obtain two sets of interferograms of signal comb and local oscillator comb interchanging simultaneously. This method allows us to extend the NAR to tens to hundreds of kilometers without changing the repetition rate of the signal comb. With this scheme, we demonstrate a dynamic distance measurement when a moving target crosses a measurement dead zone that is 3–4 times the NAR. The standard deviation of the residual distance is 1.48 μm with a 925 μs update rate. The Earth rotation parameters (ERP) play a crucial role in defining the global reference frame and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is one of the important tools used to obtain ERP, including polar motion (PM), its rates, and length of day (LOD). The latest IGS Repro3 ERP products, which provided the IGS contribution to the latest ITRF2020, were generated without consideration of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) observations. The global BDS, namely the BDS-3 constellation, has been completely constructed from July 2020 and the observing stations are evenly distributed globally now. Two couple dual-frequency combinations, including the B1I/B3I and B1C/B2a combinations, are commonly used for BDS-3 ionosphere-free combination usage. With the goal of identifying the optimal dual-frequency combination for BDS-3 ERP estimates for the future ITRF definition with a consideration of BDS-3, this research evaluated the performance of ERP estimation using B1I/B3I and B1C/B2a combinations. Firstly, we conducted a comparison of the ambiguity resolutions. The mean percentage of successfully resolved ambiguities for the BDS-3 B1C/B2a combination is 86.5%, surpassing that of B1I/B3I. The GNSS satellite orbits and ERP were estimated simultaneously, thus the accuracy of orbits could also reflect the performance of the ERP estimates. Subsequently, we validated the orbits of 22 BDS-3 Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites using Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), and the root mean square error (RMS) of the SLR residuals for the 3-day arc orbit with B1C/B2a signals was 5.72 cm, indicating superior accuracy compared with the B1I/B3I combination. Finally, we compared the performance of ERP estimation, considering both internal and external accuracy. For the internal accuracy, B1C/B2a-based solutions demonstrated a reduction in mean formal errors of approximately 17% for PM, 22% for LOD, and 21% for PM rates compared with B1I/B3I-based solutions. In terms of external accuracy, we compared BDS-3-derived ERP estimates with the IERS 20C04 products. The B1C/B2a combination exhibited a slightly better standard deviation performance and a significant reduction in mean bias by 56%, 54%, 39%, 64%, and 23% for X, Y polar motion, X, Y polar motion rates, and LOD, respectively, compared with B1I/B3I solutions. We show that ambiguity aversion and deviations from standard expected time separable utility have a major impact on estimates of the willingness to pay to avoid future climate change risk. We propose a relatively standard integrated climate/economy model but add stochastic climate disasters. The model yields closed form solutions up to solving an integral, and therefore does not suffer from the curse of dimensionality of most numerical climate/economy models. We analyze the impact of substitution preferences, risk aversion (known probabilities), and ambiguity aversion (unknown probabilities) on the social cost of carbon. Introducing ambiguity aversion leads to two offsetting effects on the social cost of carbon: a positive direct effect and a negative effect through discounting. Our numerical results show that for reasonable calibrations, the direct effect dominates the discount rate impact, so ambiguity aversion gives substantially higher estimates of the social cost of carbon. When examining memory effects of semantic attributes, it is common practice to manipulate normed mean (M) ratings of the attributes (i.e., attribute intensity) in learning materials. Meanwhile, the standard deviations (SDs) of attribute ratings (i.e., attribute ambiguity) are usually treated as indexes of measurement error. However, some recent research found that recall accuracy varied as a function of both the intensity and ambiguity of semantic attributes such as valence, categorization, concreteness, and meaningfulness. These findings challenged the traditional interpretation of attribute rating SDs as noise indexes. In the current study, we examined the recognition effects of ambiguity, intensity, and Ambiguity × Intensity interactions for 21 attributes using mega study data for over 5,000 words. Our results showed that attribute ambiguity had reliable recognition effects beyond those of attribute intensity, and that it sometimes explained more unique variance in recognition than attribute intensity. Thus, we concluded that attribute ambiguity is a distinct psychological dimension of semantic attributes, which is processed separately from attribute intensity during encoding. Two theoretical hypotheses had been proposed for the memory effects of attribute ambiguity. Differential code bias (DCB) of satellite is an error that cannot be ignored in precise positioning, timing, ionospheric modeling, satellite clock correction, and ambiguity resolution. The completion of the third generation of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) has extended DCB to multichannel code bias observations and observable-specific signal bias (OSB). In this paper, the DCB and OSB products provided by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) are analyzed and compared. The DCB parameters for the BDS satellites are applied in both single- and dual-frequency single point positioning (SPP), and the results are intensively investigated. Based on the satellite DCB parameters of the BDS, the performance of precise point positioning (PPP) with different frequency combinations is also analyzed in terms of positioning accuracy and convergence time. The standard deviations (STDs) of DCBs at each signal pair fluctuate from 0.2 ns to 1.5 ns. The DCBs of BDS-2 are slightly more stable than those of BDS-3. The mean values and STDs of C2I and C7I OSBs for BDS-2 are at the same level and are numerically smaller than their counterparts for the C6I OSBs. The mean OSBs for each signal of the BDS-3, excluding C2I, fluctuate between 12.35 ns and 12.94 ns, and the STD fluctuates between 2.11 ns and 3.10 ns. The DCBs and OSBs of the BDS-3 of the IGSO satellites are more stable than those of the MEO satellites. The corrections for TGD and DCB are able to improve the accuracy of single-frequency SPP by 44.09% and 44.07%, respectively, and improve the accuracy of dual-frequency SPP by 6.44% and 12.85%, respectively. The most significant improvements from DCB correction are seen in single-frequency positioning with B1I and dual-frequency positioning with B2a+B3I. DCB correction can improve the horizontal and three-dimensional positioning accuracy of the dual-frequency PPP of different ionosphere-free combinations by 13.53% and 13.84% on average, respectively, although the convergence is slowed. Wind turbines and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are intermittent and uncertain energy sources that disturb grid planning operations. In this paper, we establish a multi-objective distributionally robust optimization model for optimal locations of wind turbines and solar photovoltaics (PV) that minimize the variance of renewable energy sources and maximize power production. Moreover, this paper evaluates the accuracy of the Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA), Deep Learning Gated Recurrent unit (GRU), and Deep Learning Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) as forecasting models for wind speed and solar irradiation and compares their root mean square errors (RMSE). Using the forecasting error information, we characterize the uncertain variables in the ambiguity set, incorporating the bounds, means, and covariance values. Furthermore, we propose a modified multi-objective non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) approach to achieve a tractable Pareto front solution. To verify the effectiveness of the model, we use the actual candidate sites for wind turbines and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Saudi Arabia. The results demonstrate that our proposed model is an attractive and less conservative solution than a multi-objective robust optimization model when considering forecasting uncertainties. Objectives: In October 2019, the International GNSS Service(IGS) began the third data reprocessing campaign(repro3). To enable more robust ambiguity resolution(AR) in precise point positioning (PPP), one of IGS important tasks is to combine satellite clock and code/phase bias products. Methods: We elaborated the precise satellite clock product model, code/phase bias product model, as well as prior corrections and specific processes for the combination of global navigation satellite system(GNSS) satellite clock and code/phase bias products. What􀆳s more, entrusted by the IGS Analysis Center Coordinator, we combined the clock/bias products of repro3 from 2000 to 2020 successfully. Results: Through the statistics of the combination, it is concluded that the integrity rate of combined clock can reach more than 95% after stabilization, which is superior to most of the products of IGS Analysis Centers. The average root mean square error of GPS and Galileo satellite navigation system satellite clock reach 6.13 ps and 5.63 ps respectively, which prove that the correction models in the combination can significantly improve the consistency. The average weight of Graz University of Technology participating in the combination reaches 21.83%, which has better precision than that of other analysis centers. The weight of phase/integer clock is higher than that of legacy clock, with better stability and precision. Furthermore, 103 stations with uniform global distribution were selected for the static PPP-AR solution to validate the positioning precision of the combined products. The results showed that the average fixed rates of GPS wide and narrow-lane ambiguity based on combined products are 90.16% and 86.72% respectively, and those of Galileo are 97.11% and 93.77% respectively, which are about 1-5 percentage points higher than those based on Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (COD) repro3 products. The average positioning precision based on combined products in the east, north and high directions is 0.154, 0.178 and 0.542 centimeters respectively, which is 20% to 30% higher than COD. Conclusions: The multi-GNSS satellite clock and code/phase combination method can effectively solve the problems of the consistency among products of analysis centers,and enable more robust ambiguity resolution in PPP-AR. Objectives: Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellite chip shape distortions lead to individual biases in the pseudorange measurements. These biases are the results of the correlator's tracking response and thus depend on the correlator and front-end design of the receiver. As a result, different receivers are likely to exhibit inconsistent biases, called receiver-related pseudorange biases. The researches show that the receiver-related pseudorange biases cannot be absorbed by clock offset, which will affect GNSS precision applications. Methods: We estimate the receiver-related pseudorange biases of global positioning system (GPS)/BeiDou satellite navigation system (BDS) /Galileo satellite navigation system (Galileo) from 9 short/zero-baselines stations from the multi-GNSS experiment network using double difference method. The baselines are divided into three groups according to the combinations of two receivers of one baseline. Results: The results indicate that the receiver-related pseudorange biases of receivers with different manufacturers even the same manufacturers with different models cannot be neglected. For base‐lines with receivers from different manufacturers,the inconsistences of pseudorange biases can reach up to 160 cm. Conclusions: Among GPS, Galileo and BDS, Galileo shows the smallest pseudorange biases, while BDS in general is the largest. Furthermore, the stability of pseudorange biases is analyzed, the results suggest that estimated receiver-related pseudorange biases are quite stable with the standard deviation less than 12 cm for the three systems. We investigate the effect of receiver-related pseudorange biases on integer ambiguity resolution and pseudorange relative positioning, with the pseudorange biases correction, the root mean squares of fractional parts of double difference Melbourne ‐Wübbena combination are decreased by 17%, 22%, and 14% for GPS, BDS, Galileo, respectively. An improvement of pseudorange relative positioning accuracy is also confirmed, the 3D positioning errors of GPS, BDS, Galileo are reduced from 84.4, 77.3 and 60.0 to 80.1, 72.1 and 57.0 cm, respectively. We describe the [somewhat tedious] process of digitising from a 1955 report that lists over 1000 vertical deflections in India and some surrounding countries. It involved error-checking with closed-loop tests and resolution of an ambiguity surrounding the meridional vertical deflection at the Kalianpur origin of the datum. We transformed these Kalianpur coordinates to geodetic coordinates on geocentric datum to compute absolute vertical deflections. However, due to many changes to the Everest spheroid due to different feet to metre conversions and readjustments of the Kalianpur datum, we were restricted to using the abridged Molodensky transformation parameters for the 1975 Kalianpur datum and Everest 1956 spheroid based on only seven common points from the WGS84 technical manual. We compared these transformed absolute vertical deflections with EGM2008 and GGMplus (for both models: meridional standard deviation: ∼±2″; prime vertical standard deviation: ∼±3″), showing that the effort of digitisation and scrutiny of historical geodetic data is indeed worthwhile. • The ISB between the BDS-2 and BDS-3 is considered in UPD estimation. • The time-varying characteristics of ISB and the quality of BDS UPD are analyzed. • The satellite-induced bias of BDS-2 in UPD estimation is evaluated. • The impact of ISB is evaluated from the performance of BDS PPP and PPP-AR. Intra-system biases (ISBs) between BDS-2 and BDS-3 are of critical importance when combining observations from the BDS-2 and BDS-3 systems, which is meaningful to fully take advantage of the BDS positioning capability. Meanwhile, ISBs should also be considered in the estimation of BDS uncalibrated phase delays (UPDs). In this research, we present a BDS-2/BDS-3 joint-processing scheme, as well as a method for estimating BDS UPDs. The characteristics of ISBs and the quality of BDS UPDs are analyzed based on 30-day data from 130 multi-GNSS experimental (MGEX) stations. Our results indicate that the ISBs are related to the type and version of the receiver. The ISBs can be regarded as constant across the course of a given day, and the mean standard deviation (STD) values of ISBs over one month for different types of receivers are generally within 0.2 m. Moreover, to assess the quality of UPD products, the residuals of the estimated UPDs and the utilization rates of the observation data are computed. The results show that the quality of BDS UPDs can be improved by correcting the satellite-induced pseudo-range variations, and by estimating the wide-lane (WL) UPD difference between BDS-2 and BDS-3. The average RMS values of the estimated residuals of WL UPD and narrow-lane (NL) UPD are 0.07 and 0.09 cycles, respectively; moreover, the utilization rate of the observation data of WL UPD and NL UPD can reach above 90 %. The performance of BDS precise point positioning (PPP) and PPP ambiguity resolution (PPP-AR) is analyzed in terms of positioning accuracy and convergence performance in both the static and kinematic modes. Compared with PPP ambiguity-float solutions, the positioning accuracy of PPP-AR is significantly improved, especially in the east direction. This article presents a direction‐finding method based on phase difference measurement for wide‐ranging applications of electronic intelligence. By including three processing steps of rotating, re‐scaling, and rounding of phase plane, the proposed method is able to obtain the actual phase shift of the longest baseline from the ambiguous phase differences measured from incoming signals with low computational cost. The method's performance is analysed and evaluated in terms of angle of arrival (AOA) estimation accuracy and probability of unambiguity by several interferometers of long baselines designed by multiple antenna elements. Consequently, an optimised array configuration of four antenna elements is taken into account to obtain high AOA estimation accuracy via several productive simulations and intensively validated with device measurement in the practical environment. Regarding the simulation of angle estimation accuracy, the proposed method remarkably outperforms two other existing methods, including second‐order difference array and correlative interferometers. In the experimental measurement, high AOA determination performance is achieved with the transmitter located around 35.5 m far from an antenna array and the small average angle estimation error of 1.86° at the direction of 20°. For various directions from −60° to 60° with the steps of 5°, the results satisfy the actual directions of the transmitter with a standard deviation of less than 0.5°. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Numerous organizations and Analysis Centers (AC) currently offer various Ambiguity Resolution (AR) products using various methodologies. However, there are no associated studies on their use for time-frequency transfer. This paper examines 16 Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) stations with external high-precision atomic clocks to constitute 15 international time comparison links, and uses AR products data from CNES, SGG, CODE, and PRIDE laboratories, using three ambiguity-fixed strategies, to thoroughly evaluate the effects of various strategies and AR products for high-precision time-frequency transfer. We reach the following results by using the IGS final clock product as a reference and comparing it to ambiguity-float. With various ambiguity-fixed procedures, the time stability Standard Deviation (STD) of time transfer is increased for a single GPS, and the improvement ranges from 10 to 40%. The frequency stability has barely improved; up to 40%, the most notable improvement comes from FCB with GRM products. The time stability STD of combinations has improved after the addition of the Galileo system compared to the single GPS, and the improvement ranges from 2 to 9%. Most strategies have been improved, while a few techniques have been weakened with the GEC (GPS + Galileo + BDS) combination. We feel that the stability has not significantly increased with the systems' increase in terms of short-term stability after comparing multiple groups of linkages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: High-accuracy and high-reliability satellite orbit is the fundamental requirement for precise applications of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites. Due to the uncalibrated phase delay (UPD) originated from receivers and satellites, the phase ambiguity cannot be estimated as integer values. Fixing phase ambiguity to proper integer number is one of the key issues to improve the precise orbit determination (POD) accuracy. The algorithms and methods of single-difference (SD) ambiguity resolution (AR) based on integer clocks are demonstrated. The reduced dynamic POD and kinematic POD with SD AR are implemented and the performance is analyzed. Methods: Integer clock is the precise clock product that absorbs satellite UPD. By applying integer clock products, the receiver UPD can be eliminated by forming SD am-biguities between two global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites. And the SD ambiguity recover its integer nature and can be fixed to integer value by a rounding strategy. The onboard gravity recovery and climate experiment follow on (GRACE-FO )data (GRACE-C/D) and integer clocks from Centre National d’ Etudes Spatiales/Collecte Localisation Satellites (CNES/CLS) of April and May 2019 was employed to evaluate the improvement of reduced dynamic POD and kinematic POD accuracy with SD AR. Results: The wide-lane ambiguity fixing rates of both reduced dynamic and kinematic POD reach 99% and the narrow-lane fixing rates are about 95%. For reduced dynamic POD, the 3D root mean square error (RMSE) values of overlapping orbit difference reduced from 7.1 mm and 7.4 mm to 4.2 mm and 3.6 mm for GRACE-C/D, respectively. The standard deviation values of satellite laser ranging (SLR) residuals decrease from 15.9 mm and 14.4 mm to 10.8 mm and 11.0 mm, with improvements of 32% and 24%. Besides, the RMSE values of K-band ranging residuals reduced from 8.0 mm to 2.9 mm, demonstrating that SD AR can also improve the relative position accuracy of LEO satellites. As for kinematic POD, the 3D RMSE values for orbit difference with precise science orbit (PSO) of ambiguity-float solution are 37.5 mm and 36.4 mm, while those of ambiguity-fixed solution are 27.7 mm and 25.5 mm, with improvements of about 28%. Moreover, the SLR residuals results also improved by 20%. Conclusions: With the integer clock products, SD AR can be achieved using onboard observations of a single LEO satellite. Objectives: It is difficult to effectively evaluate and weaken the impact of observation environment change on data quality. To solve the problem, this paper studies a multi-point hemispherical grid model which can be applied to various satellite navigation systems.Methods: It integrates the observations of different global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellite pairs in different observation periods to establish a global optimal multipath model. GNSS multipath error can be estimated effectively using multi-point hemispherical grid model (MHGM), image-based inverse of multipath effect and reflect the orientation of interference sources in the observation environment around stations. Results: To a certain extent the observation environment around stations can be modelled. The test under deliberate high multipath environment reveals that using MHGM significantly improved the root mean square error (RMSE) of the double-differenced carrier phase observation residuals in the period of fixed ambiguity, reducing the mean RMSE from 0.983 cm to 0.318 cm, a 67.7% improvement. In addition, the abnormal areas with large value of correction in the MHGM results is consistent with the direction of the baffle mounted at the corresponding stations. This model indicates multipath effects on GNSS carrier phase observations in different directions from the station. The test with International GNSS Service historical observations shows MHGM can effectively reflect the influence of changing multipath interference around stations on carrier phase observations, with an average improvement of 29.5% in the RMSE of residuals over the past 18 years. Conclusions: This model can be used to evaluate the changes in observation environments surrounding stations over time. Until now, RTK (real-time kinematic) and NRTK (Network-based RTK) have been the most popular cm-level accurate positioning approaches based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals in real-time. The tropospheric delay is a major source of RTK errors, especially for medium and long baselines. This source of error is difficult to quantify due to its reliance on highly variable atmospheric humidity. In this paper, we use the NRTK approach to estimate double-differenced zenith tropospheric delays alongside ambiguities and positions based on a complete set of multi-GNSS data in a sample 6-station network in Europe. The ZTD files published by IGS were used to validate the estimated ZTDs. The results confirmed a good agreement, with an average Root Mean Squares Error (RMSE) of about 12 mm. Although multiplying the unknowns makes the mathematical model less reliable in correctly fixing integer ambiguities, adding a priori interpolated ZTD as quasi-observations can improve positioning accuracy and Integer Ambiguity Resolution (IAR) performance. In this work, weighted least-squares (WLS) were performed using the interpolation of ZTD values of near reference stations of the IGS network. When using a well-known Kriging interpolation, the weights depend on the semivariogram, and a higher network density is required to obtain the correct covariance function. Hence, we used a simple interpolation strategy, which minimized the impact of altitude variability within the network. Compared to standard RTK where ZTD is assumed to be unknown, this technique improves the positioning accuracy by about 50%. It also increased the success rate for IAR by nearly 1. Recent progress in using real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning has motivated the exploration of its application due to its high accuracy and efficiency. However, poorly-observed satellite data will cause unfixed ambiguities and markedly biased solutions. A novel partial ambiguity resolution method, named the irrespective of integer ambiguity resolution (IIAR) model, is proposed and applied to improve the reliability of ambiguity resolution. The proposed method contains initial ambiguity resolution and irrespective of integer ambiguity processes. The initial ambiguity resolution process applies an iterative partial ambiguity resolution method to obtain an approximate solution. The irrespective of integer ambiguity process transforms the approximate solution to a high-precision solution. Experiments show that the approximate solution is unreliable when the initial ambiguity resolution process has small redundancy, and the proposed method can obtain better results for those cases. The IIAR method showed about a 40% improvement of multi-GNSS ambiguity success rate and about a 25% improvement of standard deviation. By convention, IGS precise clock products are computed using the ionosphere-free linear combination. Due to the broad use of IGS products, this convention is exploited in PPP-RTK models not using such a linear combination. So, in different carrier phase combinations, the code hardware biases are contained in different combinations, thus making the problem of separating biases from integer ambiguities more complicated. In this paper, we proposed a novel clock parameterization which allows facilitating this problem. Based on the proposed parameterization, we derived a dual-frequency PPP-RTK model for the undifferenced measurements and assessed this model for the static positioning case in terms of positioning accuracy, convergence, and ambiguity resolution performance. The results showed that a cm-level accuracy level is achievable with the derived models with nearly instant convergence and almost 100% successfully resolved ambiguities. We demonstrated the use of this parameterization for slant ionosphere estimation. We derived the analog of the equation linking the wide-lane, geometry-free, and ionosphere-free biases from the Fast-PPP system and used it to retrieve slant ionosphere information. Our TEC estimates showed some evidence of capability to reach an agreement of 1–2 TECU and the standard deviation of 3–4 TECU with GIM TEC values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The complementary principle function presents a framework for estimating evaporation but faces long-term challenges in calibration with a free parameter-equilibrium evaporation coefficient. The blending the evaporation precipitation ratio with complementary principle function is proposed to provide a physical basis for estimation of the equilibrium evaporation coefficient within the Budyko framework; however, it overlooks the limited possible maximum evaporation and precipitation condition from Fu's equations. In this study, we expanded the numerical ambiguity boundary conditions of Fu's equations and introduced a new parameter γ c into the blended function to fully capture the environmental conditions, aiming to mitigate errors related to extreme climates. The result indicated our improved blended function performed better than the original function. Compared to the original function, the estimated annual average evaporation across stations improved from 0.12 to 0.57 in coefficient of determination (R2) and from 322.83 mm to 172.47 mm in Root Mean Square Error. For daily evaporation estimation, the Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency coefficient (NSE) increased from 0.32 to 0.47 and R2 increased from 0.38 to 0.48 in all validation sites. The modified blended method showed a better performance in most of the AmeriFLUX stations, especially with the highest improvement in extremely dry and wet sites. Our new approach represents a promising evaporation method in extreme climate conditions and provides support for future research to identify the rigorous equation constraints of Budyko equations. The depth conversion process is a significant task in seismic interpretation to hstlbatse the link between the seismic data in the time domain and the drilled wells in tehdepth domain. To promote the exploration and development of tehSubba oilfield, more accurate depth conversion is required. In this paper, three approaches of depth conversions: Models 1, 2, and 3 are applied from the simplest to the most complex on Nahr Umr Reservoir in Suba oilfield. This is to obtain the best approach, lehsstvt s ahss itst with the actual depth at well locations and good inter/extrapolation between or away from well controls. The results of these approaches, together with the uncertainty analysis provide a reliable velocity model and more accurate predicted depth that reduced the ambiguity of the subsurface. The uncertainty analysis reveals that Model 3 is considered a more practical and most accurate approach because it gives a minimized standard deviation value of 14 with less residual and error values. The uncertainty of the depth conversion and the standard deviation values is raised towards the eastern part of the field due to an increase in the dipping depth in this region that affects the depth conversion results. The surface wave investigation and monitoring (SWIM) aboard the China-France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT), a pioneer conically scanning wave spectrometer, was successfully launched on October 29, 2018. Its innovative configuration composed of one nadir and five rotating near-nadir beams is designed to simultaneously observe the directional wave spectrum at a global scale. In this study, we systematically implement the spectral analysis of the radar backscattering with the periodogram technique to obtain the fluctuation spectrum for each azimuth direction. The 2-D fluctuation spectrum of the three spectral beams ($\theta = 6^\circ $ , 8°, and 10°) combines all the azimuth directions within one entire rotation of 360°. The case study demonstrates that the wave features (peak wavelength and direction) are roughly consistent between the estimated fluctuation spectrum and the collocated WaveWatch III wave slope spectrum. A marked up-to-downwave asymmetry of the fluctuation spectrum with larger spectral level in the upwave direction for all the three spectral beams is observed. A ratio is defined between the fluctuation spectrum within the [0°, 180°] sector relative to the [180°, 360°] sector. Statistics display that this ratio is greater than 1 when it denotes the up-to-downwave ratio and smaller than 1 for the down-to-upwave ratio. This observed spectrum asymmetry is linked to the asymmetric modulation from upwind to downwind. In addition, we employ such finding to help remove the 180° wave direction ambiguity from a practical point of view. Preliminary results of the direction ambiguity removal display a bias of 41.3°, 40.6°, and 36.7° for the beams. The 10° beam shows slightly better performance compared to the other two beams in terms of bias and standard deviation. The estimation of various components in science always faces with errors and inaccuracies that are presented in the form of an uncertainty in identifying the considered components. This uncertainty can be represented in different shapes, one of which is the representation of estimated components in the form of fuzzy numbers. In a situation where a shortage of information or ambiguity in the studied system can be seen, fuzzy numbers can be used to express the ambiguity available in the components. In this study, we will introduce new approach for the formation of type-2 fuzzy numbers in which the mean and standard deviations of data are used to determine the uncertainty zone. Finally, with proposed type-2 fuzzy numbers, in proportion to any situation we have, we face with the claims related to the mean and assess with the subject of the statistical hypothesis test with fuzzy approach. The quality and availability of Uncalibrated Phase Delay (UPD) solutions are crucial to the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) service, and the long-term temporal variability and its contributing factors should be better understood. In this paper, we comprehensively investigate the long-term time-varying characteristics of each UPD product respectively generated by a global and regional network and their interoperable application in PPP-AR (ambiguity resolution), the sampling of the WL and NL UPDs are daily and 30 s, respectively. Firstly, in terms of our 30 day Wide-Lane (WL) UPD products of 31 satellites, the Standard Deviation (STD) of each satellite WL UPDs ranges from 0.04 to 0.06 cycles, indicating that the long-term prediction accuracy of satellite WL UPD is sufficient for fixing Wide-Lane ambiguities. Secondly, when a satellite in eclipsing the discontinulity may corrupt the determination of Narrow-Lane (NL) UPD in form of offset, as a result of lacking or poor satellite attitude dynamic modeling. When the influence of discontinuity is removed, the STD of our estimated satellite NL UPDs is less than 0.05 cycles. Thirdly, the STD of our estimated receiver WL UPDs is mainly below 0.2 cycles, which implies that its stability is one order poorer that of the satellite. In addition, if they are used for stations in and around the network covered region, the stability of the UPD products from the CMONOC (Crustal Movement Observation Network of China) is better than that from a global network, benefit from the fact that all the CMONOC stations are equipped with the same receiver type. Finally, the PPP-AR results show that a rate of 82.9% for stations with a WL-ambiguity-fixed rate of over 90% while 69.5% for stations with an NL-ambiguity-fixed rate of over 80% can be achieved when using UPD from the global network, which is worse than that of using UPD from the CMONOC (85.7% for stations with a WL-ambiguity-fixed rate of over 90% while 75% for stations with an NL-ambiguity-fixed rate of over 80%). The results of the experiment on the UPD interoperable application in PPP show that the global network UPD products can provide a fast AR at any single station, and the convergence time is well below 25 min. Particularly, when the location of a station is in and around the regional network, our results show that the PPP results obtained using regional UPDs enable the consistent use of global UPDs. When the location of a station is far away from the regional network, using the regional UPDs can not achieve PPP-AR. Finally, the WL UPDs of the previous day is used for forecasting to estimate the NL UPDs, the stability analysis results of NL UPDs solution and positioning results are demonstrate the validity of forecasted UPD products. In this paper, a new two-stage approach, involving an integral treatement of all quasi-random effects limiting the accuracy of relative GPS positioning and the method of moments to obtain final variance components regarding the effects of short-term ("far-field") multipath (factor β), joint action of long-term ("near-field") multipath and receiver antenna phase center offset and variations (factor α1), as well as joint action of tropospheric and ionospheric refraction (factor α2), is presented. In the study, GPS data collected on five baselines were used. Variance components of the quasirandom effects were obtained for the three relative GPS coordinates (e, n and u) using individually monthly datsets including daytime- and those including nighttime-wise ambiguity-fixed baseline solutions. The related results show that statistically significant inequality exists when comparing corresponding variances obtained for daytime and nighttime periods. Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is still considered a new technique of GNSS measurements intensively developed in recent years. One of the main advantages of this method is the autonomous mode of measurement, requiring only one receiver, which ensures the high accuracy of the measured position. The accuracy, in some modes of measurement and processing, is similar to the results obtained with the use of Relative GNSS technique (RGNSS). The main disadvantages of PPP include the need to introduce a set of corrections, which in the RGNSS are reduced using differential equations and a relatively long time (about 20 min or more) needed for ambiguity resolution. The analysis conducted so far concerning the determination of the PPP accuracy focused mainly on the results obtained from long (daily) static observation. The results obtained from the sub-daily observation, less often analysed, involved longer time intervals (1–8 h). In this paper, time series of position components derived from sub-hourly (30 min) PPP solutions were analysed. The analysis was based on 30 days of observations performed at 8 ASG-EUPOS system stations. For processing the collected GNSS observations (in different variants) the NAvigation Package for Earth Orbiting Satellites (NAPEOS) software was chosen. If it will be assumed that standard deviation (SD) can be a good measure of the accuracy of the obtained results, the conducted analyzes prove that the sub-hourly PPP technique can provide accuracy in the order of 0.5 cm (SD below 0.5 cm) for the horizontal position components and 1 cm (SD below 1 cm) for the vertical position component. The above accuracy was obtained in the multi-station PPP approach (fixed ambiguity solution). In float ambiguity solution scenarios the standard deviation increases up to 1 cm for horizontal components and up to 2 cm for the vertical component. The periodicity, in the obtained position components time series, were analysed using the Lomb-Scargle periodogram. Spectral analysis showed clear periodicity in the obtained results (especially for GPS-only fixed and float solutions). The Ambiguity Dilution of Precision (ADOP) is a well-known scalar measure that can be used to infer the strength of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) model of the carrier phase ambiguities involved in precise relative GNSS positioning. Odijk and Teunissen (2008a) derived closed-form expressions for single-baseline GNSS models that allow verifying the factors affecting the ambiguity resolution as well as the probability of its correct resolution as integer values. However, this weighted-ionosphere ADOP closed form assumes that the standard deviation of the ionosphere delay is dependent on a function associated with the baseline length. This means that a baseline of the same length at different locations around the world and in different moments in time would have the same standard deviation, which in practice is not true. This becomes even worse in regions like Brazil, where the ionospheric anomalies are more intense and frequent, especially in periods of high solar activity. In this work, a new method for calculating the ionospheric delay standard deviation that considers the ionospheric scintillation S4 index is proposed to improve the closed-form ADOP performance. Experiments with a baseline of 280 m located in Presidente Prudente, Brazil (magnetic latitude of around −13°), were carried out. The results showed that in periods of both weak and strong ionospheric scintillation, the introduction of S4 into the ionospheric delay standard deviation was beneficial for ADOP. The average improvement of the ADOP closed form was of around 72% in the analyzed period of weak scintillation and of 35% in the period of strong scintillation. In addition, the results showed that in periods of strong scintillation, relative positioning accuracy is around 100 times worse, up to 30 m, when compared to periods of weak ionospheric scintillation. Frequency division multiplexing of GLONASS signals causes inter - frequency bias(IFB) in the receiving equipment. IFB significantly prevents GLONASS ambiguity resolution and limits the accuracy and reliability of GLONASS positioning and orbit determination. Therefore, we present a new method for GLONASS ambiguity resolution. Firsly, it weakens the influence of inter-frequency code bias, and wide-lane ambiguities are calculated directly based on the wide-lane combined observations. Then, according to the range of inter-frequency phase bias rate, a step-by-step search schedule is designed to remove the impacts of inter-frequency phase bias on wide-lane and narrow-lane ambiguities. Finally, the ambiguity resolution can be achieved successfully. An IGS experiment network is carried out to verify the validity of this method. Experimental results show that the maximum, minimum and mean success rate of fixed ambiguities within the month were 95.4%, 88.8% and 93.45%, respectively. After ambiguity resolution, the repeatability and root mean square error (RMSE) of N, E, U components were improved; especially for E component, the repeatability and RMSE were improved 20% and 14%, respectively. Motivation Split-alignments provide base-pair-resolution evidence of genomic rearrangements. In practice, they are found by first computing high-scoring local alignments, parts of which are then combined into a split-alignment. This approach is challenging when aligning a short read to a large and repetitive reference, as it tends to produce many spurious local alignments leading to ambiguities in identifying the correct split-alignment. This problem is further exacerbated by the fact that rearrangements tend to occur in repeat-rich regions. Results We propose a split-alignment technique that combats the issue of ambiguous alignments by combining information from probabilistic alignment with positional information from paired-end reads. We demonstrate that our method finds accurate split-alignments, and that this translates into improved performance of variant-calling tools that rely on split-alignments. To eliminate the appearance of false peaks in underwater passive distributed cross-location, a cross-location algorithm with windowed deconvolution in the spatial domain is proposed. The algorithm can effectively detect and locate passive targets and effectively eliminate passive cross-location false peaks. First, the windowed deconvolution algorithm is applied in an integral form to individual narrow sub-band spatial spectra. The spatial spectra are summed to obtain the broadband spatial energy spectrum. The estimated propagation loss and the one-dimensional broadband energy spectrum are used to deduce the sound source level of the two-dimensional scanning grid points. In the proposed method, the mean value and standard deviation of the source level are inversely deduced using multiple arrays, and the standard deviation is used to weight the fusion result for each scan point to weaken the energy output corresponding to the false position. Simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively detect and locate targets in the presence of strong interference. Reliable and rapid ambiguity resolution (AR) is the key to fast precise point positioning (PPP). We propose a modified partial ambiguity resolution (PAR) method, in which an elevation and standard deviation criterion are first used to remove the low-precision ambiguity estimates for AR. Subsequently the success rate and ratio-test are simultaneously used in an iterative process to increase the possibility of finding a subset of decorrelated ambiguities which can be fixed with high confidence. One can apply the proposed PAR method to try to achieve an ambiguity-fixed solution when full ambiguity resolution (FAR) fails. We validate this method using data from 450 stations during DOY 021 to 027, 2012. Results demonstrate the proposed PAR method can significantly shorten the time to first fix (TTFF) and increase the fixing rate. Compared with FAR, the average TTFF for PAR is reduced by 14.9% for static PPP and 15.1% for kinematic PPP. Besides, using the PAR method, the average fixing rate can be increased from 83.5% to 98.2% for static PPP, from 80.1% to 95.2% for kinematic PPP respectively. Kinematic PPP accuracy with PAR can also be significantly improved, compared to that with FAR, due to a higher fixing rate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: A new dual phase-shifting moiré projection method is proposed for microscopic three-dimensional surface profilometry. One of the most difficult technological challenges encountered in employing moiré triangulation projection for automatic optical inspection (AOI) is to detect high contrast projected fringes from an object''s surface having vast variation of surface reflectance. Surface reflectance from different surface regions could vary significantly due to diverse surface characteristics, such as texture and roughness, in which returning light may be arbitrary combination of specular reflection, diffusion and scattering. Undesired measurement results are common when deformed moiré fringes cannot be satisfactorily detected by an imaging detector. To resolve this, the proposed method generates a moiré fringe formed by employing a combination of the deformed fringe detected from the object''s surface and a virtual sinusoidal grating self-generated by the computer. A spatial averaging approach is applied to phase-shifted moiré interferograms formed between one deformed fringe and virtual fringes having an equal shifted phase, such as π/2. High-contrast phase-shifted interferograms can be generated for more accurate 3-D surface reconstruction via phase wrapping and unwrapping. One great advantage of the method is its tunable control over the moiré fringe period for reaching more measurable step heights without encountering phase ambiguity problem. From the experimental analysis using standard targets and industrial PCB, it is verified that the method can significantly improve measurement accuracy with a measuring standard deviation less than 0.14% of the overall measuring depth range when measuring a low reflected industrial object surface. Commonly used sums-of-squares-based error or deviation statistics—like the standard deviation, the standard error, the coefficient of variation, and the root-mean-square error—often are misleading indicators of average error or variability. Sums-of-squares-based statistics are functions of at least two dissimilar patterns that occur within data. Both the mean of a set of error or deviation magnitudes (the average of their absolute values) and their variability influence the value of a sum-of-squares-based error measure, which confounds clear assessment of its meaning. Interpretation problems arise, according to Paul Mielke, because sums-of-squares-based statistics do not satisfy the triangle inequality. We illustrate the difficulties in interpreting and comparing these statistics using hypothetical data, and recommend the use of alternate statistics that are based on sums of error or deviation magnitudes. The article evaluates the theoretical and methodological aspects of the method of equal-appearing intervals and of modifications of this procedure, which have been used in scaling attitude items. By using this procedure scale values and measures of dispersion or ambiguity are determined for each item; and on the basis of these plus other factors-which vary according to procedures proposed by various workers-items are selected to form an attitude scale. Variations in methodology of collecting judgments have negligible effects on the ordering of items according to scale value or on size of the scale values themselves. Measures of ambiguity--both interquartile ranges and standard deviations--appear to be relatively less stable than measure of scale value. The attitude positions of different sorting groups, whether moderately or extremely different, do not affect the judged order of items. It is not completely clear whether this difference is a function of diversity of opinion or of attitude area being considered. Effects on measures of ambiguity seem not to have been studied.

To derive surface displacement, interferometric stacking with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data is commonly used, and this technique is now in the implementation phase in the real world. Persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) is one of the most universal approaches among in- terferometric stacking techniques, and non-linear non-parametric PSI (NN-PSI) was proposed to overcome the drawbacks of PSI approaches. The estimation of the non-linear displacements was successfully conducted using NN-PSI. However, the estimation of NN-PSI is not always stable with certain displacements because wider range of the velocity spectrum is used in NN-PSI than the conventional approaches; therefore, a calculation procedure and parameter optimization are needed to consider. In this paper, optimized parameters and procedures of NN-PSI are proposed, and real data processing with Sentinel-1 in the Kanto region in Japan was conducted. We confirmed that the displacement estimation was comparable to the measurement of the permanent global positioning system (GPS) stations, and the root mean square error between the GPS measurement and NN-PSI estimation was less than 3 mm in two years. The displacement over 2 π ambiguity, which the conventional PSI approach wrongly reconstructed, was also quantitatively validated and successfully estimated by NN-PSI. As a result of the real data processing, periodical displacements were also reconstructed through NN-PSI. We concluded that the NN-PSI approach with the proposed parameters and method enabled the estimation of several types of surface displacements that conventional PSI approaches could not reconstruct. In this study, an uncombined precise point positioning (PPP) model was established and was used for estimating fractional cycle bias (FCB) products and for achieving ambiguity resolution (AR), using GPS, BDS-2, and Galileo raw observations. The uncombined PPP model is flexible and efficient for positioning services and generating FCB. The FCBs for GPS, BDS-2, and Galileo were estimated using the uncombined PPP model with observations from the Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) stations. The root mean squares (RMSs) of the float ambiguity a posteriori residuals associated with all of the three GNSS constellations, i.e., GPS, BDS-2, and Galileo, are less than 0.1 cycles for both narrow-lane (NL) and wide-lane (WL) combinations. The standard deviation (STD) of the WL combination FCB series is 0.015, 0.013, and 0.006 cycles for GPS, BDS-2, and Galileo, respectively, and the counterpart for the NL combination FCB series is 0.030 and 0.0184 cycles for GPS and Galileo, respectively. For the BDS-2 NL combination FCB series, the STD of the inclined geosynchronous orbit (IGSO) satellites is 0.0156 cycles, while the value for the medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellites is 0.073 cycles. The AR solutions produced by the uncombined multi-GNSS PPP model were evaluated from the positioning biases and the success fixing rate of ambiguity. The experimental results demonstrate that the growth of the amount of available satellites significantly improves the PPP performance. The three-dimensional (3D) positioning accuracies associated with the PPP ambiguity-fixed solutions for the respective only-GPS, GPS/BDS-2, GPS/Galileo, and GPS/BDS-2/Galileo models are 1.34, 1.19, 1.21, and 1.14 cm, respectively, and more than a 30% improvement is achieved when compared to the results related to the ambiguity-float solutions. Additionally, the convergence time based on the GPS/BDS-2/Galileo observations is only 7.5 min for the ambiguity-fixed solutions, and the results exhibit a 53% improvement in comparison to the ambiguity-float solutions. The values of convergence time based on the only-GPS observations are estimated as 22 and 10.5 min for the ambiguity-float and ambiguity-fixed solutions, respectively. Lastly, the success fixing rate of ambiguity is also dramatically raised for the multi-GNSS PPP AR. For example, the percentage is approximately 99% for the GPS/BDS-2/Galileo solution over a 10 min processing period. In addition, the inter-system bias (ISB) between GPS, BDS-2, and Galileo, which is carefully considered in the uncombined multi-GNSS PPP method, is modeled as a white noise process. The differences of the ISB series between BDS-2 and Galileo indicate that the clock datum bias of the satellite clock offset estimation accounts for the variation of the ISB series. This article presents information related to the exploratory work of scholar H.W. Hogan in which a highly significant correlation was obtained between scores from a specially constructed symbol test for intolerance of ambiguity (SF test) and scores from the verbal Adorno authoritarianism scale. The median F score for the guards was 141.9 out of 196 possible; their median SF test score was relatively higher at 29 out of a possible high of 30. By contrast, the median F and SF scores for the present student sample were 87.0 and 23.0, respectively; for the original student sample reported on earlier, the median F score was 87.0. With respect to the unexpected inverse relationship, between the guards'F and SF scores, this outcome may, of course, be as much the result of the general insensitivity of the SF test to subjects with the prison guards' personal and social characteristics. The narrower the range, the smaller the correlation coefficient tends to be. Thus, for the guards, their restricted SF scoring range (as indicated by a median SF score of 29 of 30 possible) is matched by the SF test's low Spearman-Brown reliability coefficient of .15.
