There are two key factors in the fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces. One is to have the appropriate micro/nano structure, and the other is to reduce the surface energy of the solid surface. In this work, the cyclic voltammetric electrodeposition method (CVE) was used to construct the micro/nano rough structure of zinc oxide nanosheets (ZnO NS) on steel sheets. Triethoxy(octyl)silane (TTOS) is used to reduce the surface energy of solid surfaces. Their synergistic effect fabricated a superhydrophobic surface (ZnO NS-TTOS). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and contact angle measurement (CA) confirmed the successful fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces. The surface roughness and morphology were characterized by 3D optical profiler and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that the hydrophobic modification of TTOS thickened the zinc oxide film and greatly enhanced the anti-corrosion performance of the zinc oxide film. The influence of voltage range on contact angle and the synthesis mechanism of zinc oxide nanosheets are discussed. In addition, the Tafel curve shows that the fabricated superhydrophobic surface can achieve 99.83% corrosion inhibition rate compared with blank steel and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is used to explore its anti-corrosion mechanism. Finally, anti-fouling performance and photoelectric effect tests show that the fabricated superhydrophobic surface can resist and photodegrade pollutants, which further improves the versatility of the superhydrophobic surface. Low hardness and poor wear resistance greatly limit the application of superhydrophobic coatings. In this work, the steel substrate was first subjected to simple sandblasting and acid treatment, then a superhydrophobic coating was fabricated through electrodeposition and hydrophobic modification. In addition, fabricated Ni-W-TiO 2 coating and Ni-TiO 2 coating with TiO 2 nanoparticles as the reinforcing phase. The stability test shows that the hardness of the Ni-W-TiO 2 composite coating can reach 771 ± 25 HV, and it can still reach a water contact angle of 157.4 ± 2° under the conditions of a pressure of 2613 N/m2 and a wear distance of 1000 mm. The introduction of tungsten element and TiO 2 nanoparticles can significantly improve the hardness and wear resistance of the coating, which has positive significance for the practical application of superhydrophobic coatings. The wettability test shows that the water contact angle of the superhydrophobic composite coating can reach 163 ± 2°. The electrochemical test is used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the composite coating. The results show that the corrosion inhibition rate of the superhydrophobic composite coating can reach 99.63% under the same corrosion conditions (3.5% NaCl solution, 25 ℃). In general, the fabricated superhydrophobic composite coating has great hydrophobic properties, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and broad industrial application prospects. The prepared superhydrophobic composite coating has extremely low surface energy, can form "air valley" on the surface, reduce the contact area between the surface and the corrosive medium, and effectively resist the erosion of the aqueous solution. A two-step method was used to fabricate a superhydrophobic surface on steel sheet, nickel foam (NF), and stainless steel mesh (SS). The micro-nano structure of Layer Double Hydroxide (LDH) is obtained by hydrothermal method. The synergistic effect of triethoxy(octyl)silane (TTOS) and FeNi-LDH produces a superhydrophobic surface. Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used for structural characterization, which confirmed the synthesis and hydrophobic modification of FeNi-LDH. The time of the hydrothermal reaction was discussed, and the results showed that the water contact angle (WCA) of the superhydrophobic surface fabricated by setting the reaction time to 12 h can reach 169 ± 2°. Electrochemical tests also show that the prepared superhydrophobic surface can achieve a corrosion inhibition rate of 96.3%. In addition, the superhydrophobic NF and superhydrophobic SS prepared by the same method were tested for antifouling and oil-water separation performance. The results show that, due to the excellent non-wettability of the surface, the preparation method of this superhydrophobic surface has great potential value in the fields of anti-corrosion, anti-fouling and oil-water separation.
