Tier 2 interventions are implemented similarly across students and thus serve as an efficient and cost-effective method of behavior support in school settings. Check-in/check-out is a Tier 2 intervention with documented effectiveness (e.g., Hawken & Horner, 2003; Todd, Campbell, Meyer, & Horner, 2008). Key features of the intervention include brief morning and afternoon meetings with the intervention coordinator, use of a point card on which the teacher monitors student behavior, and teacher feedback at predetermined times. The present study sought to add to the literature by examining the relative contributions of the teacher-feedback components of check-in/check-out via the use of a component analysis. Working with 4 children in a general education setting, we first evaluated the effectiveness of the procedure using reversal designs. Next, we systematically removed teacher-feedback components to assess effects on problem behavior and academic engagement. For 3 of 4 participants, we were able to remove all teacher-feedback sessions and the point card; for the 4th participant, we removed only 2 of 3 teacher-feedback sessions due to time constraints.

Due to the prosperity of sports and continued growth of sports media, colleges and universities are offering an increasing number of courses and majors related to the sports media industry. Via a systematic analysis of 76 syllabi from courses under the sports media umbrella at 30 colleges and universities, this study reveals what is being communicated to students. It also scrutinizes how diversity, equity, and inclusion–related topics are incorporated into sports media course syllabi. Findings include three broad themes across all courses' descriptions and calendars: targeted skill-based approaches, current events/trends, and experiential learning. Providing library instruction, often via one-shots in someone else's classroom, may reduce feelings of agency or job control for academic instruction librarians. This study addresses potential differences in job control across core responsibilities, specifically looking at the difference between job duties overall and instruction responsibilities. As we consider the characteristics of library instruction, we should examine how those characteristics impact librarian agency in teaching spaces and acts. Ethnography is an exceptionally difficult subject to teach and learn in a classroom setting. This article, written by an ethnography professor and five graduate ethnography students, reflects on how a short-term and collectively executed fieldwork study can help alleviate this problem. Within three months, we logged over 100 hours of observations on district court proceedings in greater Boston. Our field notes, memos, and seminar discussions brought to life three key topics in ethnography: theorization, positionality, and intervention. While not without its challenges, we ultimately found this exercise to be an effective and efficient way to sharpen our ethnographic sensibilities. It is often asserted that to facilitate student engagement, encourage participation and create optimal learning environments, the classroom should be a safe space. In this paper, we explore the idea that 'safety' is at odds with the very nature of academic enquiry. Using data from a qualitative study with staff at a UK University, we illustrate how the expectation of safety is troublesome and works to inhibit learning, particularly in the social sciences which explore difficult and sensitive subject matter. The responsibility for creation and maintenance of safe classrooms is often presumed to lie with teaching staff, and the impact of this is under researched. We consider alternative constructions of the classroom space and ways forward which can potentially support tutors with the challenges of teaching difficult topics. The present study examined whether secondary school (SE) teachers (N = 324, Mage = 37.97) and university (UNI) teachers (N = 225, Mage = 44.80) with a firmly grounded and well-explored teaching identity would report better work-related well-being and would adopt a more motivating teaching style. We expected the opposite for teachers ruminating about their teaching role and also considered the mediating role of teaching motivation. Results from multiple group analyses confirmed the hypotheses, showing that teachers with a well-defined teaching identity reported more satisfaction and less emotional exhaustion during teaching and were less likely to leave the profession. They also reported making use of a more motivating teaching style, characterized by more autonomy support and structure, and less control and chaos. Conversely, teachers who ruminated about their teaching role generally showed opposite correlations. Teaching motivation mediated at least partially these associations, with the results generally holding across SE and UNI teachers. Overall, the present study underscores the importance of considering teachers' sense of identity and teaching motivation as they might underlie their well-being and motivating teaching style in the classroom. Using many years of experience in the UK's state primary schools, I consider that a limited understanding of time has damaging implications for both pupils and adults within the education system. The sector neglects the fact that time has much potential, many definitions and is a powerful influence on man. I share how education took clock‐time and manipulated it to an extreme, leading to the rule clock‐time now has over our schools. We are being held to account by time, and it has become our foe; however, I believe that it can become our friend. I explain why education should accept time's many facets and use them to help reshape its structure and practice. Time, in educational spaces, could be understood and experienced differently, taking in to account the human and all manner of other relevant things, for the greater good. In this paper, I describe moments from a first-grade classroom whereas co-researchers, the classroom teacher and I found ourselves challenged by ways we experienced disruption in the classroom. Upon further analysis we saw these moments as opportunities to embrace culturally sustaining pedagogies, recognizing students' enactment of their culturally situated ways of knowing and being as important, disrupting traditional approaches to schooling. Insights described provide recommendations for practice as well as questions to consider regarding how educators can engage in this approach, as well as how administrators and higher education faculty can support and mentor educators in developing their pedagogical practice to value and sustain students culturally diverse ways of knowing and being in early education classrooms. The arrival of COVID-19 disrupted the everyday life of the classroom. This interactional sociolinguistic research explores a teacher providing directions to students about COVID-19 safety protocols, delivered on the first three days of the students' return to the classroom in August 2020 after a multi-month hiatus. Using audio-data collected over multiple hours as part of an ongoing long-term study of classroom interaction in a rural Canadian high school, it examines teacher strategies for delivering directives regarding COVID-19 safety policy, with particular attention to linguistic forms aimed at student compliance during the fraught early days of return. The findings outline strategies of delivering unambiguous directives regarding relatively mundane procedures, as well as strategies of avoidance—indirections—which were framed as negotiation and revoicing. This study explores the tenuous balance of risk and the everyday in the classroom, where the teacher attempts to reset the interactional order in light of new restrictions, new requirements, and new threats. This systematic review addresses the relevance of instruction in oral expression during the Primary Education stage. Initially, 305 articles were identified, of which only 12 form the basis of this paper. These articles were selected following specific selection criteria according to the PRISMA statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis). The results obtained reveal that the teaching of oral skills in the classroom context in Primary Education has been the subject of little study. Forty-four states have recently taken formal policy steps to limit how teachers can teach about so-called "divisive issues." This paper examines teachers' perceptions of what they need to be prepared to teach in states where "divisive issues" legislation exists. Teacher interview data where restrictive legislation exists were used to explore what inservice teachers need to teach within the constraints of states' divisive issues legislation, and what teacher preparation programs should focus on when preparing new teachers to do the same. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are platforms teachers can use to seek guidance on different strategies to update their teaching skills. This study finds the effectiveness of MOOCs in developing professional performance and skills of school teachers. It tries to show the extent to which school teachers can benefit from these courses and how they apply them in their practical teaching. A mixed-method sequential explanatory (following up the quantitative findings with qualitative ones) method by using multiple data sources, including the MOOC system's log files, final grades and the discussion forum, with additional of face to face class snapshots was used. Some of the data were analysed using statistical, correlations and clustering models, with others coded in excel to develop different themes based on reported experiences. Results indicated how TPD core features uncover school teachers' knowledge and skills level through their learning behaviour variables for the MOOC platform, which will help to transform their pedagogical and instructional approaches while shifting their classrooms into 21st Century classrooms. Generally, this study contributes fresh insights into the literature on the importance of MOOCs for teachers' professional growth while sustaining their work and connections for networked learning. Within classroom research, there has long been agreement on the importance of dialogue and discussion for student learning. However, how the concept of knowledge influences classroom conversation needs further investigation, as this has key implications for students' active participation. Our research sought to conceptualise the assumption of knowledge in standards-based curricula and explore some implications of teaching based on this kind of curriculum. To do this, we drew on a larger research project undertaken in Sweden, which involved a comparative classroom study. Four natural science lessons were examined in terms of student's opportunities to engage in the teaching content. The analytical framework was based on curriculum theory, the concepts of a lesson as a curriculum event, and students as co-authors of teaching content. We analysed two concepts of knowledge – social realism and transactional realism – in relation to an openness towards 'critical moments' during lessons, either noticed or unnoticed, and related them to the logics of curriculum and knowledge. When framed by classroom teaching designed from knowledge criteria, students' opportunities for acting as co-authors can become restricted, with critical moments overlooked because of a teaching focus necessarily limited by curriculum. Thus, opportunities for creating spaces to pay attention to students' questions and reactions can be constrained. Standards-based curricula, a concept of knowledge with a strong focus on subject-specific facts and ways of reasoning, together with high-stakes assessment, may lead to fewer openings for genuine discussion and student reflection. Although teachers' autonomy support and structure are considered essential elements of the classroom environment to promote effective learning strategies, prior research has sometimes provided conflicting results. This inconsistency may stem from how autonomy support and structure relate to some outcomes but not others. Alternatively, this variability might be attributed to nonlinear relations, which have been scarcely tested thus far. In this cross-sectional study, we revisited this issue by examining both the linear and curvilinear relations of autonomy support and structure to challenge-seeking, novelty avoidance, and procrastination. Participants were 3,271 adolescents (Mage = 15.91, SD = 0.34 years; 59.8% females) from 116 classrooms. Multilevel polynomial regression analyses revealed that, compared to structure, autonomy support was a more reliable predictor of challenge-seeking, both at the student and the classroom levels. In contrast, structure predicted novelty avoidance and procrastination more reliably at both levels than autonomy support. Response surface analyses indicated that the most desired pattern existed at the line of congruence. Our findings suggest that both autonomy support and structure are needed to enhance students' learning strategies. What makes a teacher? How might educators be oriented toward children, rather than institutions? How might we grow pedagogies through humans, instead of systems? In a time of scope, sequence, standards, and scripted lessons, the orientation of teachers is often turned away from the actual people who inhabit the classrooms: the children and the teachers themselves. But what is that alternative? How might we frame teacher education and practice toward and through the classrooms themselves? This narrative, auto-ethnographic study examines a non-traditional path into teaching. This unique path, absent the formalized structures and expectations of what teaching is/should be, invites reconceptualizations of how teaching might emerge through communities, rather than institutional systems. Through the experiences of a young settlement house "teacher" and her classroom of young children, I explore the possibilities of building a curriculum, a democracy, a practice and a lifetime of teaching in collaboration with children, and all members of the community. Classroom monitoring using information communications technology (ICT) plays a significant role in enhancing teaching-learning in a blended learning environment. Learning analytics (LA) is such a popular classroom monitoring tool. LA helps teachers to the collection, interpretation, and analysis of students performance data generated during teaching and learning process. However, designing interactive LA is challenging for real-time blended classroom use. We observed significant flaws in handling large classroom monitoring challenges in a state-of-the-art system. To address those flaws and challenges, we propose the "Manas Chakshu" - a real-time ICT-based interactive LA for large blended classrooms. The core idea of the visual LA system consists of two interactive levels. The overview and the overview+detail levels are used to optimize the screen-area utilization of the available display. The system computes classroom status with the help of novel weighted states and Euclidian distance for highlighting critical classroom regions. We compare the theoretical performance of our aid with the state-of-the-art system. We found that Manas Chakshu performed better in 89.12% of the cases based on theoretical performance analysis. We also implemented Manas Chakshu as an Android application and conducted an empirical study with 39 teachers. Study results show that our system reduces average classroom monitoring time by 27.96% compared to the state-of-the-art system. We found the perceived usability in terms of teachers' satisfaction, efficiency, and learnability ratings of the proposed system were high. The average mean ratings on a five-point Likert scale are 4.06, 3.86, and 4.02. The results show the perceived usabilities and high system usability scale (SUS) scores (average 76.86) of the proposed system were highly acceptable to the teachers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Editing techniques enable audiovisual producers to merge viewpoints of a single subject and condense time and space between scenes, leading to more engaging videos. However, for content aimed at young children, these techniques may compromise intelligibility if not correctly understood, thus posing a risk to the overall learning experience. This study investigates the impact of first-order editing techniques and various shot types on the effectiveness of educational videos for preschool children, comparing edited videos with continuous, unedited shots. A total of 92 Portuguese preschool children participated. Results showed no significant difference in learning outcomes between unedited videos (continuous shots) and edited videos (diverse shot types, such as wider and closer shots), with both groups demonstrating high success rates. These findings suggest that the cognitive load related to processing first-order editing techniques and different shot sizes does not hinder learning experiences. The study also highlights the importance of early exposure to audiovisual content in enhancing media sign literacy and promoting a better understanding of editing techniques. Our research supports the notion that preschool children can process and integrate first-order editing techniques and various shot types, thus enabling effective learning from edited videos when crucial visual information is centered on the screen. Future research should further explore the relationship between the comprehension of editing techniques and the level of exposure of children to audiovisual media across different content types. Over the past ten years, there has been an increasing focus on physical learning spaces in higher education. By now, what do we really know about the relation between space and student learning? What does the research landscape look like, and how has it developed? A systematic review of peer-reviewed 108 articles on the physical learning space for the period 2009–2019 was performed. A broad and fragmented field emerged that is to some extent under-researched and under-theorized. Few articles contain theory sections, and very few authors refer to each other's work in their articles. On the other hand, a diversity of themes, methods and perspectives can be seen. Sport psychology scholars have long called for the field to take intersectional approaches to research and applied practice. Missing from this call is the study of intersectionality in the classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this practice paper is to provide a resource for sport psychology practitioners to take an intersectional approach in their teaching. First, the author provides a brief overview of intersectional theory and approaches to using anti-oppressive practices in the classroom. The author then reflects on their experience utilizing an intersectional lens as a neophyte instructor. Finally, the author discusses lessons learned from this teaching experience. This practice paper serves as a resource for sport psychology scholars and practitioners to integrate the study of intersectionality in their roles. While this paper is written for the higher education classroom, all readers will gain knowledge on intersectional theory and how it can be integrated in their scholarship or applied practice. In higher education settings, instructors play a critical role in integrating Human-Centered Design (HCD) in existing and new courses. This study explores how instructors teach about and through HCD in higher education settings and what challenges they encounter as they do so. Participants were four faculty members and four graduate teaching assistants from four different courses. The participants were interviewed after their course ended for the semester. A phronetic iterative analysis approach was used to analyze the transcribed interview data. Findings indicated that when teaching about and through HCD, instructors intentionally and purposefully plan to integrate HCD, implement targeted instructional strategies to scaffold students' learning of disciplinary content and HCD concepts, provide multiple forms of assessment and feedback, and facilitate collaboration between students, peers, and classroom visitors for deeper engagement in learning. Nevertheless, teaching about and through HCD is challenging and requires further specific teaching competencies that can empower instructors to integrate HCD in their courses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This essay explores how Margaret Cavendish’s The Blazing World works differently when taught and read on its own and in combination with Cavendish’s other works. Focusing specifically on the graduate classroom, I examine and present strategies for teaching the book alongside works by other early modern women and for teaching it in a single-author course. While in isolation, The Blazing World allows for discussions that focus primarily on questions of gender, genre, class, and politics, read in tandem with Cavendish’s other works, in particular her philosophical writings, The Blazing World becomes a source for reflections on questions of creaturely identity, nature, and interdisciplinarity. The article discusses the need for a comprehensive approach to teaching Asian American histories and narratives in K–12 education, beyond superficial celebrations like Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. It emphasizes creating a diverse and accurate representation of Asian American experiences and histories in the classroom, advocating for an inclusive and ongoing educational framework.

This research contributes to ongoing debate surrounding primary teachers' perceptions of key benefits, challenges and effective practice associated with whole-class teaching and learning in the primary school. A review of pre-existing literature relevant to the practice and perceptions of whole-class teaching and learning informed the scope and design of the study. A mixed methods exploratory approach was employed through the distribution of digital questionnaires and one-to-one semi-structured interviews, involving thirty-eight primary teachers employed across ten schools in the East Midlands and South East England. Statistical analysis and thematic, inductive and theoretical coding of the resulting data highlighted perceived social benefits alongside challenges surrounding whole-class adaptive teaching. The findings concluded that whole-class pedagogy may be most effective when diverse approaches to questioning and verbal discourse are collectively embedded within a shared directive for practice, and when the engagement of all pupils is continually promoted and sustained throughout teaching and learning. Purpose: Sustainability has emerged as a key concept in 21st-century education. The purpose of this paper is to identify faculty's behavior and barriers to incorporating sustainability in business school classrooms and suggest potential ways to tackle them. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses focus groups and interviews with faculty at a European business school using the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to explore their beliefs and practices in incorporating sustainability in the classroom. Findings: The results show that business school faculty have a strong awareness of sustainability and a desire to incorporate it into the classrooms. Recommendations for deans and curriculum creators are proposed to reduce obstacles to successful implementation. Originality/value: The perceptions of faculty, a key agent of change in the incorporation of sustainability in the classroom, are analyzed, and practical steps to support them are suggested through the use of a TPB framework. This paper explores teachers' educational values and how they shape their judgements about physically active learning (PAL). Twenty one teachers from four primary schools in Norway participated in focus groups. By conceptualising PAL as a didaktikk approach, the findings indicated that teachers engaged with PAL in a way that reflected their professional identity and previous experiences with the curriculum. Teachers valued PAL as a way of getting to know pupils in educational situations that were different from those when sedentary. These insights illustrate how PAL, as a didaktikk approach to teaching, can shift teachers' perceptions of pupils' knowledge, learning, and identity formation in ways that reflect the wider purposes of education. The paper gives support to a classroom discourse that moves beyond the traditional, sedentary one-way transfer of knowledge towards a more collaborative effort for pupils' development. A critical aim of teacher quality research is to identify and distil its multiple components. While many such components have been identified in the literature, there is a scarcity of research that has attempted to empirically investigate how these elements integrate within a larger profile of teacher quality, including how particular teachers' beliefs, behaviours and outcomes cluster into unique profiles of teachers. In this study, a group of Australian high‐school teachers completed an extensive teacher beliefs questionnaire, undertook the Visible Classroom program to record and document their use of high‐leverage teaching practices and had their students complete a survey based on perceptions of effective teaching. The results were analysed using cluster analysis to determine if distinct groups of teachers could be identified based on similarities in beliefs, behaviours and student perceptions of teaching. The results suggested multiple distinct clusters of teachers with distinguishing types of beliefs, frequency of practices and student perceptions of teaching. Most notably, the results pointed to a unique cluster of teachers who were most distinguishable in their self‐efficacy, intrinsic motivation and personal responsibility beliefs, as well as highly active teaching behaviours in the classroom. This group also possessed the highest levels of student perceptions of teaching. In recent years, the architectural legacy and so-called 'difficult heritage' of Fascist Italy has become a flourishing field of research. These topics have also begun to make their way into the undergraduate classroom. To date, however, there has been little research carried out into the methods we use to teach the history of Fascism in particular. In this short article, we outline how we have applied problem-based learning and scenario-based learning approaches to tackle this topic. After presenting three assignments, we explain the benefits associated with a PBL/SBL approach, summarised under the headings of interdisciplinarity, creativity and authenticity, before highlighting some aspects on which colleagues may wish to reflect if they are considering adopting a similar approach in their teaching. Teachers are designers and an essential act of the profession is the crafting of learning experiences to meet specific purposes. In this study, we follow a Norwegian physical education (PE) teacher in the design and teaching of a unit informed by a pedagogical model called the practising model (PM). Two research questions guided the study: (1) How does a teacher experience conducting a teaching unit informed by the PM? (2) How does the teacher's role enactment develop throughout the teaching unit? Qualitative data were gathered from workshops, observations from PE sessions in a 10th-grade class, and interviews with the teacher and his students. By applying the joint action in didactics framework, we discuss three key findings: (1) a rough start – feelings of chaos and inadequacy, (2) a shift in the teacher's role enactment, and (3) closing in on the students' practising. The study concludes that applying the PM framework challenged the usual PE practice of this class. Too many different learning trajectories and didactic sub-milieus, a reconceptualisation of roles and teaching strategies, and epistemological breaches and task overload challenged the teacher considerably. The turning point for the teacher emerged as a conceptual shift, leaving behind the role of an organiser, and instead pursuing the role of a close, curious, and questioning teacher, drawing on different teaching styles to meet students' needs. Modelling new pedagogical reforms and establishing adequate pedagogical tact certainly requires practising the practice, allowing new roles, expectations, requirements, and strategies to settle as the new normal. The concept of models-based practice has arguably provided the field of sport pedagogy with the means, lens, and tools with which to start to transform the discipline into a more desirable, equitable, and purposeful space. Despite this, there remains a need to experiment with this concept further in non-traditional ways and to continue to construct new pedagogical models meant to serve youth in ever-changing pluralist societies. The purpose of this paper, therefore, was to outline an affective-oriented composite pedagogical model, titled The Spectrum Model, by drawing from Mosston and Ashworth's theory for the spectrum of teaching and learning and neo-Aristotelian virtue ethics. To achieve this goal, I begin by highlighting the need for studying the synergy between the spectrum and models-based practice more closely. Thereafter, I attempt to clarify spectrum theory, virtue ethics, and the concept of models-based practice. Finally, I conclude by presenting two broad main ideas, three critical elements, six intended learning aspirations, and a series of suggested pedagogies acting to inform the proposed Spectrum Model. This model has the potential to influence how practitioners and scholars understand the spectrum of teaching and learning within the broader notion of models-based practice. The application and integration of moral philosophy into a well-established pedagogical framework might also help pedagogues of all kinds to envision how they could help youth to obtain a fully flourishing lifestyle through their teaching. Twelve hands-on workshops were assigned to one fifty-person lecture class of heat transfer, while a second class of the same size was given corresponding homework problems. Although everything else between the classes was maintained the same, the overall performance of the workshop class was previously shown to be significantly better than the nonworkshop class. This was true including both concept questions and quantitative problem solutions. The current paper looks in detail at specific workshops that were helpful on the topics of transient conduction, energy balance with multiple conduction pathways and relative resistances, external convection, and gray body radiation. Student feedback on the workshops is used to help elucidate what worked for each workshop and what needs improvement. This includes suggestions for better workshops on fins and lumped capacitance based on what concept is most difficult for the students to grasp. Teacher identity guides classroom choices and responses to proposed change, yet identity work and reflection are frequently overlooked components of professional development. Based in dialogic self theory, this qualitative study used narrative case study to examine teachers' perceptions of interactions between their identities, choices, and responses to change. This study determined that while teachers are aware of how their identities guide their choices, they often do not acknowledge divergences between their identities and choices and do not see responses to change as connected to their identities. The study was a descriptive survey which sought to assess how Junior High School teachers in the Kwadaso Municipality in Ghana reflect on their practices in the classroom. The target population for the study was teachers in public Junior High Schools. Convenience sampling procedure was used to select 72 teachers. Questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.88. Means and standard deviations were used to analyse the data. The findings showed that teachers reflect their practices to ensure effective delivery of their lessons. Teachers practically reflected by talking about their classroom experiences with their colleagues. Teachers cognitively reflected by reading books related to effective teaching. In line with government policy to enforce classroom-based assessment (CBA) for lower primary school, science teachers need to focus more on student's character building through establishing a fun and meaningful teaching and learning culture. Based on the standards-based school curriculum, assessment must be done holistically and authentically as part of the teaching and learning process. However, previous studies have found that teachers do not entirely understand the implementation of CBA in teaching and learning. This problem could arise as teachers find it challenging to construct instruments related to CBA, as they are more familiar with examinations that evaluate student's achievement. Thus, this study explores teachers' perspectives on the best criteria of a technology-enhanced assessment tool consistent with the current CBA practices and student's required skill development in science. Qualitative analysis revealed teachers' evaluation criteria in three categories, i.e., user control, visual and technical usability, and support. The results point to recommendations for future research on evaluating the capabilities of existing mobile apps in classroom-based assessment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Data-driven decision making is an accepted best practice in education, but teachers seldom reflect on data to drive their physical activity (PA) integration efforts. The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of a data-sharing intervention with classroom teachers on teacher-directed movement integration and students' PA and sedentary behavior. Methods: Teacher-directed movement behaviors from 8 classroom teachers in 1 primary school were systematically observed during four 1-hour class periods before (pre) and after (post) an intervention in which teachers individually discussed student movement data with a trained interviewer. Teachers' K–2 students (N = 132) wore accelerometers for 10 school days both preintervention and postintervention. Results: Multilevel mixed effects regression indicated a nonsignificant increase in teacher-directed movement from preintervention to postintervention (+7.42%, P =.48). Students' classroom time spent in moderate to vigorous PA increased (males: +2.41 min, P <.001; females: +0.84 min, P =.04) and sedentary time decreased (males: −9.90 min, P <.001; females: −7.98 min, P <.001) postintervention. Interview data inductively analyzed revealed teachers' perspectives, including their surprise at low student PA during the school day. In this article, we take seriously where we teach mobilities from and why that matters. "Where from?" asks vital questions about how teaching and learning in mobilities are located in various traditions, spaces and bodies that shape knowledges co-produced in the classroom, application beyond it, and the future of the field more widely. Asking "where from?" helps identify how our mobilities pedagogies are situated and the perspectives they emphasize and those they overlook. In this article, we reflect on the creation and evolution of a mobilities course and confront its "where-ing" in four ways, exploring the disciplinary, institutional, positionality, and spatial influences on our pedagogies.
