In the present investigation, the deposition process was optimized to prepare the thin films of pure ZnO using spin coating technique. The prepared films were characterized through XRD, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-Visible spectrometer. The parameters such as molar concentration (sol-gel concentration), number of coating (spins) and chuck rotation speed (spin rate) on the structural and optical properties of pure ZnO were investigated. It was found that, thin films prepared with 0.8 M, 10 spin and 3000 rpm speed show good transmittance and crystallinity under optimum laboratory conditions. The microstructure of the films prepared under optimum conditions show the distribution of small uniform grains and thickness (550 nm) throughout the film, confirming the good adhesiveness of the film to the glass substrate.
