A carbon–carbon-linked, ultrathin, two-dimensional (2D) polymer film was prepared at the air/water interface through photochemically triggered [2 + 2] cycloaddition. The preorganization of the monomers on the water surface and the subsequent photo-polymerization led to the successful preparation of the ultrathin 2D polymer film. The obtained film is continuous, free standing, and has a large area (over 50 μm2). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) give clear evidence of the ultrathin film morphology. Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicate successful photo-induced [2 + 2] polymerization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We report a facile strategy to prepare a large amount of ultrathin graphdiyne (GDY) with good crystallinity in the mixture of oil–water systems. By simply mixing the solution of GDY monomer in CHCl3 and the copper acetate solution as a catalyst in water and stirring at room temperature, ultrathin GDY films with a thickness of ∼4 nm were obtained in a yield of 95 %. This work provides a feasible path for the substantial preparation of GDY films and may pave the way to the development of substantial preparation of the GDY materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two‐dimensional polymers (2DPs) have attracted much interest due to their unique 2D atomic‐thick covalent network with periodically linked monomers. The preparation of mono‐ or few‐layered 2DPs with highly ordered structures is still a big challenge. Herein, we report a preparation of ultrathin 2DP film based on photo‐triggered [2+2] cycloaddition at the air/water interface. The pre‐assembly process induced by the D–A interactions before the polymerization plays a key role in constructing the highly ordered structure. The precise structure and chemical compositions of the continuous 2DP films were proved by selected area electron diffraction (SAED), Tip‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) and molecular‐mechanics‐based structural simulation. Graphdiyne (GDY) has been ideal candidate support for atomic catalysts (ACs) due to its unique conjugated two‐dimensional (2D) structure comprising both sp‐ and sp2‐hybrid carbon atoms. ACs/GDY can display excellent catalytic ability and high selectivity, emerging as a cutting‐edge research area in the past few years. Recently, a growing body of work has been done in ACs/GDY, ranging from screening appropriate combinations theoretically, continuous improvement to prepare few‐layered GDY to meet the critical challenge in this area, and successfully fabricating ACs/GDY in facile way. This Minireview briefly introduces recent advanced progress in this field, including the synthetic method for both thin GDY film and ACs/GDY, as well as theoretical analysis of different ACs/GDY systems, characterization, and applications. In the end, the challenges and further opportunities of ACs/GDY are summarized and proposed. Graphdiyne (GDY), as a new carbon allotrope, possessing both sp‐ and sp2‐hybridized carbon atoms, has attracted extensive attention due to great application potentials in various fields. To realize a fundamental understanding of the intrinsic properties of GDY, the controllable synthesis of ultrathin and highly crystalline GDY is necessary and challenging. Herein, a confined interfacial synthetic strategy towards highly crystalline ultrathin GDY at the water/oil/organogel interface, with greatly improved control over GDY structures, is reported. The morphology and chemical composition of GDY was characterized accordingly. After loading with gold, the as‐prepared hydrophobic Au/GDY system showed excellent performance in the nitrogen reduction reaction, reaching the highest yield of 4.15 μg cm−2 h−1 with a Faraday efficiency of 1.95 %. All‐inorganic metal‐halide perovskites CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) exhibit higher stability than their organic–inorganic hybrid counterparts, but the thermodynamically instable perovskite α phase at room temperature of CsPbI3 restricts the practical optoelectronic applications. Although the stabilization of α‐CsPbI3 polycrystalline thin films is extensively studied, the creation of highly crystalline micro/nanostructures of α‐CsPbI3 with large grain size and suppressed grain boundary remains challenging, which impedes the implementations of α‐CsPbI3 for lateral devices, such as photoconductor‐type photodetectors. In this work, stable α‐CsPbI3 perovskite nanowire arrays are demonstrated with large grain size, high crystallinity, regulated alignment, and position by controlling the dewetting dynamics of precursor solution on an asymmetric‐wettability topographical template. The correlation between the higher photoluminescence (PL) intensity and longer PL lifetime indicates the nanowires exhibit stable α phase and suppressed trap density. The preferential (100) orientation is characterized by discrete diffraction spots in grazing incidence wide‐angle scattering patterns, suggesting the long‐range crystallographic order of these nanowires. Based on these high‐quality nanowire arrays, highly sensitive photodetectors are realized with a responsivity of 1294 A W−1 and long‐term stability with 90% performance retention after 30‐day ambient storage. Stable α‐CsPbI3 nanowire arrays with high crystallinity, large grain size, and preferential crystallographic orientation are demonstrated on an asymmetric‐wettability topographical template. The suppressed grain boundary and surface trap of these nanowires are reflected by longer photoluminescence lifetime and long‐range crystallographic alignment.
