The environment is directly needed for all activities carried out. Therefore, the protection of the environment and the co-management of economic activities have constituted the most important issues occupying the agenda of the international community. Sustainable development can be achieved by combining economic, social and environmental approaches and balancing the sub-goals of these three systems. The 1960s were years when concerns about environmental protection increased with the effect of industrialization. Public debates on economic growth and environmental protection came to the fore with the Limits to Growth report published by the Club of Rome in 1972. In 1992, the United Nations organized an environment and development conference. At the conference, a declaration named Agenda 21, which includes sustainable development principles in different fields, was created with the participation of nation leaders. These principles focus on what should be done in areas such as environment, economy and urbanization for development. As an economic approach in the 21st century, sustainability is closely related to activities based on technology and innovation. Technological transformation must take place not only in the use of technology but also in all economic activities. In this study, in the context of the historical evolution of sustainable development and the United Nations sustainable development goals, Turkey's Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure objectives are being investigated. If activities based on technology and innovation to ensure sustainability are carried out in the coming years, it will be able to produce solutions to the problems that may occur in the field of manufacturing, agriculture and natural resources. Innovative systems will both increase productivity and ensure efficient use of resources and help social and economic development. Therefore, the developments in Turkey over the industrial infrastructure and innovation objectives in the study were examined. For sub-targets and indicators set by the United Nations for 2030, an official report has been prepared in 2019 in Turkey. In this study, in order to explain the course of the indicators determined for the industrial innovation and infrastructure target from 1997 to 2018, indices were created by obtaining data from different sources, and the heat map method was used to reveal more visually effective results. Thus, Turkey's current situation was analyzed and policy recommendations were presented based on the analysis results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
