The article reports that compliance of U.S. manufacturers, importers and distributors on the European Union's Globally Harmonized System (GHS) on hazardous products labels also comply with the hazard communication standards of the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). Director Richard Fairfax of the Directorate of Enforcement Programs of OSHA says that citations will be given as long as the labels comply with OSHA provisions. Among the label contents include hazard warnings.

In a lawsuit involving Summit Contractors, it argued that agency's Field Inspection Reference Manual multi-employer citation policy was inconsistent with the OSHA standard. Other issue concerning multi-employer worksite citation policy is noted.
