X-ray microtomography is used for non-destructive reconstruction of the internal morphological structure of objects. The influence of the tomographic experiment conditions and the projection-data preprocessing on the results of calculating the morphological parameters of a porous ceramic SiC membrane has been studied. The membrane parameters (porosity, specific surface area, and average sizes of the matrix grains and pores) have been analyzed. A dependence of the values of morphological parameters, calculated using a binarized image, on the degree of polychromatic-radiation filtering is demonstrated. It is shown that the procedure of automatic γ-power correction of sinograms makes it possible to increase the reconstruction quality and the accuracy of calculating the morphological parameters. A correspondence between the calculated values of porosity and grain sizes and the measurement results obtained using alternative methods is demonstrated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
