Purpose. The aim of the paper is to present the participation of the Mobile Library Service of Zagreb City Libraries in the period from 2018 to 2022, in the projects of the Institute for Youth Development and Innovation (IRIM) dealing with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field. The projects are as follows: "The STEM revolution continues: Libraries", "The Digital citizen", and "The Digital libraries for local development". The mentioned projects encourage the use of digital technologies in libraries in order to develop libraries into advanced centers for the acquisition of digital skills. By providing a mobile library service, the libraries strive to reduce the consequences of social exclusion and raise the quality and standard of life in the community for all citizens, thus contributing to the realization of the right of each individual to access information, knowledge and culture, which also includes the presentation of new technologies to all children, regardless of whether they live in urban or suburban areas and whether they attend central or branch primary schools. Approach/methodology. The paper describes the participation of the Mobile Library Service of Zagreb City Libraries in the period from 2018 to 2022 in the projects of the Institute for Youth Development and Innovation: "The STEM revolution continues: Libraries", "The Digital citizen", and "The Digital libraries for local development". Through the presentation of the five years of participation in the projects, two of which were completely marked by the coronavirus epidemic, it will be shown how successful the implementation of the projects was in 2018 and 2019, as well as the stagnation that followed in 2020 and 2021, and the start of the revitalization of the projects in 2022. The data was collected in the reports on the work of the Mobile Library Service, on the Zagreb City Libraries website, and from the professional and other papers on the Mobile Library Service of Zagreb City Libraries. Findings. By presenting the participation in the projects, an attempt was made to indicate the success of their implementation and the development of activities in accordance with the modern IFLA Mobile Library Guidelines (2011). Also, it will be shown that the work program is based on social and demographic changes in the local communities, the computerization of the library systems and the modernization of the IT equipment of the Mobile Library Service, as well as an excellent inter-institutional cooperation. Furthermore, the paper points to the most important thing, which is that by providing a mobile library service, libraries strive to reduce the consequences of social exclusion and raise the quality and standard of life in the community for all citizens, thus contributing to the realization of the right of each individual to access information, knowledge and culture, which also includes the presentation of new technologies to all children, regardless of whether they live in urban or suburban areas and whether they attend central or branch primary schools. Social implications. By being included in the IRIM projects, libraries, as well as mobile libraries, thus develop into advanced centers for acquiring digital skills. The social significance is manifested in the effort to reduce the consequences of social exclusion by providing a mobile library service that also includes the presentation of new technologies to all children, regardless of whether they live in urban or suburban areas and whether they attend central or branch primary schools. Purpose. The aim of the paper is to show the beginning of the Mobile Library Service, which was founded in 1976, and the operation of the same Library Service in 2021, or forty-five years later in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County. From the time of its establishment until today, the Library Service has changed a number of vehicles, employees, library stops, has renewed the library holdings, has changed the way of operating and providing library services, and has introduced a new work program in accordance with the current IFLA Guidelines for Mobile Libraries (2011), but one thing has remained the same - the work with the library members at bookmobile stops every two weeks at the same time in the same place. Approach/methodology. The paper presents the activities of the Mobile Library Service of the Zagreb City Libraries at the time of its establishment in 1976 and the activities of the Bookmobile Service in 2021. The data were collected in the archives of the Library Service, on the website of the Zagreb City Library, and from professional and other papers on the Mobile Library Service of the Zagreb City Library. Findings. A historical overview of the development of the Mobile Library Service of Zagreb City Libraries presented in this paper shows changes in the library services and programs over the past 45 years. It has been shown that the program is conducted in accordance with the current IFLA Guidelines for Mobile Libraries (2011), and that it is following the social and demographic changes in the local community, computerization of the library system and modernization of IT equipment of the Bookmobile Library Service and cooperating with many institutions and associations. The paper points out what has remained the same and equally important over the years - working with the library members at bookmobile stops in accordance with a well-defined work plan and program. Social implications. The social significance is reflected in the value of the Bookmobile service for the local community. Promoting equality in providing of the most flexible library service by increasing the possibility of access to it according to the needs of a changing population regardless of place of residence is the guiding idea of every mobile library service, including the Mobile Library Service of the Zagreb City Library. The paper is a significant contribution to a relatively small amount of published professional literature on the activities of the Mobile Library Service of Zagreb City Libraries at the time of its founding in 1976 and forty-five years later in 2021, and could be a starting point for a more detailed research and a more comprehensive analysis. Purpose. The aim of the paper is to present the possibilities, achievements and good practices of the Mobile Library Service of the Zagreb City Libraries that aim to achieve the goals of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030. The Mobile Library Service is included in many activities of the Zagreb City Libraries. Currently, the Mobile Library Service is contributing to the following Agenda objectives: Objective 4 - Quality education, Objective 10 - Reducing inequality, Objective 11 - Sustainable cities and local communities, Objective 16 - Peace and equality, Objective 17 - Partnership for goals. Approach/methodology/design. The paper is based on a chronological follow-up of good practice examples of the Mobile Library Service of the Zagreb City Libraries which contribute to achieving the stated goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Findings. In accordance with the evaluation of the regularly scheduled stops of the Bookmobile Service in June, a number of new stops will be opened at the beginning of the next school year, and some of the existing ones will be closed because the evaluation has shown that they are no longer needed in the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb County. The reorganization is aimed at promoting equality in the provision of library services and enhancing access to them. The mission is to provide everyone with equal access to library materials, information and knowledge. In 2018, the Mobile Library Service visited 77 stops, out of which 55 are in the City of Zagreb and 22 in the Zagreb County. The total number of mobile library members was 4,505, out of which 2,870 were children and 1,635 were adults. Within the Project 65 Plus, in the Book-to-Door program, the library collaborates with the nursing homes and visits the users individually. The acquisition of audiovisual and electronic material has also been intensified, including tailored material in the DAISY book format, intended for the blind and partially sighted persons. Social implications. The Mobile Library Service promotes equal opportunities providing the most customizable library service by increasing access and thus meeting the needs of the changing population regardless of the place of residence. Originality/value. The paper is an example of good practice and activities of the Mobile Library Service since 2017, when it started to actively organize and implement its own programs to promote projects, activities, and events such as the Croatian Book Month, the 65 Plus Project, Read to Me!, the Night of the Museums, the Book Night, the Days of Media Literacy campaign.
