The article titled "Transposition of hippos: population understood as an ecological repertoire for the rehabilitation of the biogeochemical cycle of silicon" analyzes the controversy surrounding the hippos imported from Africa to the Colombian Magdalena Medio in 1981. It argues that classifying these hippos as exotic and invasive species has led to incorrect and inadequate diagnoses, ignoring their value in the hydrological regulation of the African continent. According to the One Health approach, the transposition of Colombian hippos is proposed as a rational solution to territorial conflicts between species, instead of their annihilation.
