Abstract: The Acheulean site of the Errayah (Mostaganem, Algeria) in its geological context. The Acheulean site of the Errayah locality has been discovered in 1996; it is a very interesting site in the prehistory of the western coastal of Algerian regions. The stratigraphy of the site consists mainly in fine sandy deposits, lying on a substratum of marl dating back from the Pliocene period. This site contains two archaeological layers with rich lithic components; the tool clusters bear witness to a technological development from the ancient Acheulean to a final Acheulean, a sign of the advent of Middle Palaeolithic.
