The authors focus on a study conducted by researcher D.C. Morton and colleagues on the relationship between satellite-observed increases in canopy greenness during dry seasons in Amazon forests and sunlight. Topics discussed include relationship between increase in greenness in Amazon forests and seasonal variations in sun-sensor geometry, the need to carefully interpret remote-sensing data and studies showing no impact of drought on the greenness of Amazon forests.
