This paper analyses Angola's long-run and short-run money demand, identifying its determinants using data from January 2000 to August 2013. A theoretical model is presented and the estimated results show that money mass, income, inflation, exchange rate and interest rates are cointegrated, revealing a long-run equilibrium relationship between these variables. The cointegration relationship is unstable in the short run. The results are in line with the monetary policy undertaken by the Central Bank of Angola and also in line with published papers on money demand. Policy implication is derived. This article analyses the relationship between investment and savings for Angola using the Feldstein–Horioka puzzle, with monthly data from January 2000 to December 2013. Integer and fractional integration and cointegration techniques are employed to investigate the relationship between investment and savings. This artical analyzes the efficiency and productivity growth of a representative sample of Angolan oil blocks from 2002 to 2008, using the directional distance function and the Luenberger productivity indicator. The primary advantage of this approach is that both input contractions and output expansions are considered. The model generates a productivity indicator that is decomposed into the two usual constituents of productivity growth: technological change and efficiency change. For comparative purpose a Malmquist productivity index is presented. The results show that, on average, Angolan oil blocks did experience some productivity growth during the period analyzed. This paper analyses the cost efficiency of Angola-Luanda hotels using a Bayesian stochastic frontier model. The results confirm that Luanda hotels have increased their cost efficiency over the period of study to reach an overall average of 67.11%. Results from the returns to scale also indicate that further improvements in efficiency are possible if Luanda hotels would increase the size and scale of their operations.
