Most of the validated 'events exposure' questionnaires are focused on lifetime burden and are hardly applicable to Argentina owing to its sociocultural and natural conditions, where corruption and economic crises have been hitting middle-class people's lives in a cyclic manner. This prompted us to develop a new questionnaire, validated in Argentina, to assess the occurrence of exposure to events and their severity over a limited period. Deductive (bibliographic search) and inductive (by a Delphi group) selection was used to create an initial group of 24 questions, which were condensed into a final 14-item questionnaire. After administration to 512 inhabitants of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires and other major cities in Argentina, the questionnaire was shown to have an intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.996 and an internal consistency, measured by the omega coefficient, of 0.86. Because this study was conducted during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, an additional question on how this situation affected individuals was included. The time span used to measure event exposure was 1 year prior to the study. In the case of an affirmative event exposure, the responder selected the severity of the stress perception generated on a Likert-like scale, ranging from 0 (nothing) to 5 (severe). Fifty-eight per cent of the responders were women, and the mean age was 47.14 years (SD: 13.97). The average annual event incidence per person was 2.5 events (SD: 1.88). Thirty-two per cent (164/512) reported at least one 5-point event on the severity scale. Ten per cent (51/512) responded that the COVID-19 pandemic affected them in a different manner than events related to personal or family disease, or the death of a close family member or friend. Stressful or potentially traumatic events in Argentina's middle class are different from those reported in other countries, which drove us to create and validate a specific 14-item event exposure questionnaire with the addition, in the current context, of a COVID-19-related question. Aside from its function as a valuable meta-text from the Grotowskian poetry,the article "Towards a Poor Theater" becomes an early and precursor affirmation of the theater philosophy in upward semiotic status and "linguistic turn" theories times. Published in Odra in 1965, the article was soon disseminated by several European magazines and collected in books in English in 1968 and in Spanish in 1970. Thanks to the Mexican Siglo XXI edition it is in circulation in Argentina since the beginning of the 70s. The objective of this work is to highlight some affirmations of "Towards a Poor Theater" as possible antecedents and sources for the central postulates of the theater philosophy. As an attempt to think about the clinical approach in nowadays psychoanalytical practice and its theoretical articulation, the authors present a clinical case where the complexity of the situation offered an opportunity to think about the frontiers of psychoanalysis and also about the "different psychoanalysis" that nowadays challenge the clinical practice. The clinical situation: The patient was a seven years old boy brought to consultation due the presence of symptoms that configured a severe depression. He was going through a "peculiar mourning" since his father, after a car accident remained alive but in state of coma. The whole family moved from a fare away city to Buenos Aires, looking for better conditions for the father and simultaneously the boy began a treatment that lasted eight months. We consider that these months allowed the boy to open some gaps that marked the path to a working through of his mourning. He began to fill the representational emptiness generated for the traumatic episode. We thought how does the child psyche elaborates this peculiar presence/absence and in what ways can he inscribe and represent this situation? Is this episode traumatic in itself or is the presence of this dead/alive father a "real" in the lacanian sense that is operating as traumatic?
