A key to genera of South American Deltocephalini Dallas, 1870 based on adult males is presented. Two new genera, each based on a single new species from Argentina are described and illustrated: Corrientesia gen. n. based on type species C. ochrescens sp. n. and Salnogia gen. n. based on type species S. fletcheri sp. n. A new species of Graminella DeLong, 1936, G. schrocki sp. n. from Argentina is also described and illustrated. Graminella stelliger (Berg, 1884) equals Fusanus acristylus Cheng, 1980, syn. n. A new combination, Limpica pallida (Linnavuori & DeLong, 1979) comb. n., transferred from Reventazonia Linnavuori, 1959, is also proposed. The genus Actinopus Perty, 1833, is revised for Argentina, comprising a total of 23 species. The female of A. insignis (Holmberg, 1881) is described for the first time; the species is found in northern Buenos Aires, southern Santa Fe, and Uruguay. The female of A. longipalpis (Koch, 1842), previously known only from the male type from Uruguay, is described for the first time, and the species is newly cited for Argentina (Entre Ríos). Twenty new species are recognized, described and illustrated. New morphological characters that can help solve phylogenetic relationships within the genus are described. A dichotomous key for all the species from Argentina is provided, as well as maps of the known geographic distribution for all the species. Anaballetus gen. nov., Anaballetus chilensis sp. nov. (tribe Sogdini) and Neohydnobius irregularis sp. nov. (tribe Pseudoliodini), both from Chile, are described and distinguished from related and similar taxa. A key for the identifi cation of the described world genera of the tribe Sogdini is presented, and the placement of the new genus is discussed; it is considered most closely related to still-undescribed genera known from Australia and New Zealand. A key is also provided to all described species of Leiodinae known from Chile and Argentina. A new species of flea of the genus Cleopsylla Rothschild, 1914 (Siphonaptera: Stephanocircidae) is described from sigmodontine rodents from northwestern Argentina. A new species ofHapalotremusSimon, 1903 from northern Argentina is described and illustrated.Hapalotremus martinorumsp. nov. differs from all other congeners by the colour pattern of live specimens. Males differ in the male palpal bulb morphology, with thickened and less curved embolus having a blunt subapical keel and less-developed apical keel. Females differ in the shape of the spermathecae, with the lateral bases more pronounced than the superiors and the upper edge more rounded. Liothrips ludwigi (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae) is described and a key to differentiate it from the other four species present in Argentina is provided. This species can be distinguished by the following characters: major setae on head and pronotum slender and brown yellowish; anteromarginal setae short (14u-21u), and metanotum reticulated with hexagonal cells. Liothrips ludwigi feeds and reproduces on Ludwigia grandiflora (Michx.) Greuter & Burdet and L. grandiflora ssp. hexapetala (Hook. & Arn.) G.L. Nesom & Kartesz (Myrtales: Onagraceae). Abstract: The genus LeptopeltusBernhauer, 1906 (Staphylininae: Staphylinini), distributed from western Venezuela to northwestern Argentina, is revised using characters of external morphology and male and female genitalia. Leptopeltus comprises five species, of which two are described as new: L. carchiensis and L. weyrauchi. Other valid species of the genus are: Leptopeltus flavipennis (Erichson), L. montivagans Bernhauer and L. netolitzkyi Bernhauer. Lectotypes are designated for Leptopeltus flavipennis (Erichson) and L. netolitzkyi Bernhauer. Leptopeltoides gen. nov., from western Colombia and Ecuador, is described for the following four new species: Le. chingazensis, Le. columbiensis, Le. ecuatoriensis and Le. napoensis. Both genera are revised herein, with keys for identification, diagnoses, descriptions, illustrations, a cladogram, and distributional maps. The cladistic analysis shows that Leptopeltus and Leptopeltoides are both monophyletic genera and sister groups and they belong to a natural group of Neotropical genera of Philonthina (Staphylinini). We provide an overview of diapriid wasps associated with ants in Argentina and the diversity of interactions they have developed with their hosts. As a result, we report 16 species of nine genera of Diapriinae, two new geographic distributions, three new association records, illustrations, and photographs. We highlight myrmecophile symphylic species, with a high degree of integration with the host ants, adaptation being morphological and behavioral. A table with diapriid species and ant hosts is given. In the present paper we report for the first time the presence of Snellenius bicolor Shenefelt in Argentina and Bolivia. These records represent the southernmost occurrence of this species. Information on the distribution of the genus is also provided. Redescriptions of S. bicolor and S. tricolor Shenefelt were made based on male (paratypes) and female specimens, including new information on their morphology. Drawings of both species are presented. The Neotropical genus Scotobius Germar (Tenebrioni-nae: Scotobiini) comprises 61 species distributed from central Peru and southern Brazil to southern Argentine and Chile. In this contribution two species of Scotobius: S. punctatus Eschscholtz, 1831 and S. andrassyi Kaszab, 1969, that inhabit in western San Juan, Mendoza, and Neuquén provinces (Argentina) and in central Chile, along the "Cordillera de los Andes" and extra-Andean mountains in Argentina, are revised. Redescriptions using new morphological data and photographs of habitus and pronota are provided. This article informs about the geographic distribution, altitudinal ranges and the biogeographic provinces that these species inhabit. All four species of the Fáltala Oman leaftiopper group occurring in Argentina, Ealtala brachyptera Oman, F. furcipennis Cheng, Clorindaia hecaloides Linnavuori and C brasileira Zahniser & Webb, are reviewed. The female of Ealtala furcipennis is described for the first time and some additional traits for the male and female genitalia of F. brachyptera, F. furcipennis and Clorindaia brasileira are included. A key to identify the four Argentinean species, based on male and female genitalia - including the specific differences in microsculpturing of the first valvulae- and the external morphology is presented.
