The author reflects on road traffic accidents as the major cause of death and maxillofacial injuries in the world. He believes that continents including Australia, Europe and North America have decreased this incidence because of systematic approaches adopted by the society which includes development of safer vehicles, using safety belts, traffic education and strict legislation. He states that the culture of a country not its economy was the reason why traffic accidents is still a problem.
