The article discusses a field survey that was conducted in West Azerbaijan Province in Iran from 2009 to 2010 to analyze the impact of infestation of the oak powdery mildew Erysiphe alphitoides on the distributions of cynipid oak gall wasps. Calculations were made for parameters such as the Simpson's index and the Sorensen similarity quotient while estimations were performed for the species diversity and richness of gall-forming wasps. The survey's results showed that the highest richness and diversity of oak gall-forming wasps were found on uninfected trees and that gall-forming wasps' number and diversity were negatively correlated with the extent of pathogen infection.
