Abstract

The article presents a study which determines changes in the frequency of thunderstorms or hailstorms associated with atmospheric conditions in the Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany. The study used methodologies such as a linear regression model to detect long-term changes, use of insurance data to examine frequencies, and data analysis. The results showed an increase of hail damage in the past 20 years and that temperature and moisture affect trend directions.
