The article reports on the study of Hebblewhite and colleagues, according to which life of mountain caribous are critically endangered at Banff National Park (BNP) in Alberta, Canada and their extinction from the area is also speculated. It questions the responsibility of national parks which are supposed to protect threatened species and safeguard them for future generations. It discusses three reasons which stated to compare the work of national parks with the provincial land in British Columbia and Alberta. It includes the ignorant behavior of stakeholders and managers, lack of political consensus for caribou conservation, and consensus among researchers related to predator-prey interactions.
