Abstract

The article presents an overview of the lives of siblings Peter Yordy, Christian Yotty, and Jacobina Yordy who arrived in Tazewell County, Illinois from Bavaria between 1839 and 1842. Peter who was born in France on July 12, 1815 is said to have come to the U.S. as a stowaway and entered the country as an illegal immigrant. The evidences that will prove Yotty is the brother of Peter and Jacobina is also discussed.
