A recent study conducted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences introduces a stretchable electronic facial mask (SEFM) for skin electroporation, which enables transdermal drug delivery. The SEFM is reusable, water-resistant, low-cost, and portable. The researchers made innovations in the grinding and doping modification of conductive ink and the mechanical structure design of the electrodes to enhance adhesion and conductivity. Rat experiments showed a 3-4 times increase in drug intake compared to the control group, and safety and efficacy were confirmed in human volunteers.
