Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections nationwide. The COVID‐19 pandemic has greatly influenced on the HPV prevention project. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of the pandemic on HPV prevalence and genotype distribution in Beijing, China. A total of 44 401 genital swabs were obtained from outpatients at Peking Union Medical College Hospital during two distinct periods: the prepandemic stage from January 2017 to December 2019 and the pandemic stage from January 2020 to December 2022. During the prepandemic and pandemic stages, a total of 33 531 and 10 870 swabs were respectively collected. Fifteen high‐risk HPV (HR‐HPV) DNA type and a combination of two low‐risk (LR‐HPV) types (6/11) of genital swabs were detected to compare the HPV infection rates and genotype distributions in two stages. The results showed that the pandemic period witnessed a decrease in the overall HPV infection rate from 33.43% (11 245/33 531) to 29.43% (5527/18 780) compared to the prepandemic. There were statistically significant differences in infection rates between females and males (p < 0.05). Single infection was the predominant type while multiple infection was more prevalent in males than females in both prepandemic and pandemic periods. HR‐HPV infection constituted the majority of infections and cannot be disregarded. The distribution of HR‐HPV genotypes exhibited little variation before and after the outbreak, but there were some differences between females and males. HPV 16, 52, 58, 56, and 66 were the most commonly detected genotypes in females, whereas HPV 16, 52, 51, 58, and 18 were frequently detected in males. Additionally, HPV 6/11 exhibited a higher prevalence in males than in females. Notably, the age group of 31−40 years old exhibited the highest prevalence of HPV and the lowest infection rate was detected among individuals aged ≤20 years (p < 0.05), which remained relatively consistent before and during the pandemic. These findings underscore the importance of monitoring the trend of HPV epidemic and offer valuable insights for the prevention, treatment, and scientific investigation of HPV in the post‐COVID‐19 era. Objective: To assess the efficacy of aspirin, prednisone, and multivitamin triple therapy in treating unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA).Methods: Data were reviewed from women with early RSA attending a hospital in Beijing, China, 2013-2017. Those with no abnormal indices (e.g., endocrine, coagulation, immune, genetic) were diagnosed as having URSA, and received aspirin, prednisone, and multivitamin therapy (triple therapy group, n=106) or folic acid monotherapy (control group, n=65). Treatment efficacy was evaluated as the rate of successful treatment (12-week pregnancy with obvious embryo and embryonic heart, nuchal translucency thickness <0.25 cm, size consistent with gestational age, no early malformation).Results: Overall, 362 women had early RSA and 171 (47.2%) had URSA. The rate of successful pregnancy was similar between the triple therapy (89.6%) and control (92.3%) groups (P=0.343). The rate of successful treatment was higher in the triple therapy (86.3%) than in the control (53.3%) group (P<0.001). In multivariate logistic regression analysis, triple therapy was associated with higher odds of successful treatment, whereas the number of spontaneous pregnancy losses was associated with lower odds of successful treatment.Conclusion: The triple therapy of aspirin, prednisone, and multivitamin was found to be a good treatment option for women with URSA. This study aimed to delineate internal genitalia phenotypes in patients with ovotesticular disorders of sex development (OT-DSD). Therefore, a cohort of 22 OT-DSD patients admitted to the Peking Union Medical College Hospital from March 1977 to August 2019 was analyzed retrospectively. The characteristics of karyotype, gonad type and location, and internal genital organs were reviewed and compared to 242 pooled cases from the Chinese literature. As a result, the most common karyotype was 46,XX (68.2% in 22 cases of our hospital, 60.8% in the domestic literature). The combination of gonads was separated (ovary-testis, 45.1%), unilateral (ovotestis-ovary, 17.4%; ovotestis-testis, 13.0%), and bilateral (ovotestis-ovotestis, 24.5%). All the cases in our hospital had a uterus on the side of the ovary or ovotestis. Among the 19 female patients, 5 had a hysterectomy due to genital tract obstruction, 9 had vaginal dysplasia, 3 had premature ovarian failure, and only 2 women gave birth to a child. In conclusion, OT-DSD is a typical model of unilateral gonadal determinism: the uterus is present on the side of the ovotestis and ovary and the internal genital organs predominantly exhibit female characteristics. Rapid population growth and increased economic activity impose an urgent challenge on the sustainability of water resources in Beijing. Water resources system is a complex uncertain system under climate change which is of vulnerability. But water resources system vulnerability research is relatively weak. In this study, we present a multifunctional hierarchy indicator system for the performance evaluation of water resources vulnerability (WRV) under climate change. We established an evaluation model, i.e., analytic hierarchy process combining set pair analysis (AHPSPA) model, for assessing WRV, in which weight is determined by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and the evaluation degrees are determined by the set pair analysis (SPA) theory. According to the principle of scientificalness, representative, completeness and operability, the index systems and standard of water resources vulnerability evaluation are established based on the analysis of sensibility and adaptability which include five subsystems: climate change, water resources change, social and economic infrastructure, water use level and water security capability. The AHPSPA model is used to assess water resource vulnerability in Beijing with 26 indexes under eight kinds of future climate change scenarios. Certain and uncertain information quantity of the WRV is calculated by connection numbers in the AHPSPA model. Results show that the WRV of Beijing is in the middle vulnerability (3 or III) under above-mentioned different climate change scenarios. The uncertain information is between 37.77 and 39.99 % in the WRV evaluation system in Beijing. Compared with present situation, the WRV will become better under scenario I and III and will become worse under scenario II, scenario IV, scenario representative concentration pathways (RCP)2.6, scenario RCP4.5, scenario RCP6.0 and scenario RCP8.5. In addition, we find that water resources change and water use level factors play more important role in the evaluation system of water resource vulnerability in Beijing. Urban bio-retention system is meaningful in reducing rainfall runoff and enhancing infiltration capacity. But the moisture migration in bio-retention systems are not clear under climate change. The spatial and temporal distribution of moisture under different rainfall events in bio-retention systems are studied in this paper based on experimental data in Beijing. Richards model is introduced to simulate the spatial and temporal distribution of moisture including pressure head, hydraulic head and water content under different initial and boundary conditions. As a result, we found that from the depth of the node to the lower boundary, the values of pressure head and hydraulic head increase with depth and decrease with time, while the values of water content represent opposite trends relative to the distribution of pressure head and hydraulic head in bio-retention systems. To determine risk for avian influenza virus infection, we conducted serologic surveillance for H5 and H9 subtypes among poultry workers in Beijing, China, 2009-2010, and assessed workers' understanding of avian influenza.
