One specimen of Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegelii Hilgendorf, 1880 was caught by using a fish net at a depth of 7 m on 14 May 2022 from Akçakoca, Düzce in the Black Sea. In this study, the Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegelii from the Black Sea coast of Türkiye is reported for the first time with both morphologic and genetic evidence. S. schlegelii is characterised by 5 spines on the preoperculum and 2 spines on the operculum. Genetic analyses using mtDNA COI gene region also confirmed the species as Sebastes schlegelii. This species is thought to have been transported to the Black Sea from other seas of the world, probably via ballast waters or aquarium escape. The first morphologic and genetic documentation of the short-beaked garfish Belone svetovidovi Collette & Parin, 1970 from the coast of the Marmara Sea (Yalova) and Black Sea (Akcakoca) is reported in the present study. The morphological characters and genetic (mtDNA COI) analyses confirmed the existence of this species both in the Marmara and Black Seas. B. svetovidovi is genetically distinct from the anther species of this genus Belone belone. A single specimen of Dusky Grouper Epinephelus marginatus (Lowe, 1834) on 14 November 2021 at a depth of about 10 m from the southwestern Black Sea (Amasra, Turkey) was captured by a fisherman with fishnet. Hydrozoan Geryonia proboscidalis (Forskål, 1775) was observed in July 2012 in Iskenderun Bay (Samandag), for the first time in the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Two male specimens of blue crab Callinectes sapidus were captured by commercial gillnet fishery on 25 September and 2 November 2013 at a depth of 14.5 and 18 m from Düzce and Zonguldak on the Black Sea coast of Turkey, respectively. The morphologic and genetic variations of Engraulis encrasicolus (L. 1758) were studied based on morphometric, meristic and allozyme analyses. Samples were collected throughout the Black, Marmara and Aegean Seas. Discriminant function analysis of both morphometric and meristic characters indicated the existence of four morphologically differentiated groups of E. encrasicolus. The Aegean Sea and Marmara Sea samples were the most isolated from all others for morphometric and meristic characters. Genetic analyses indicated great variability but suggested low levels of differentiation in the eastern Black Sea samples. However, the low genetic distance between this and other samples suggests the existence of hybridization between the Azov and eastern Black Sea populations. Nonetheless, genetic analysis showed that these levels were significant and the population structure should be analysed using markers able to detect a greater degree of population differentiation. The distribution of some heavy metals in the muscle tissue of Merlangius merlangus (whiting), Mullus barbatus (red mullet), Engraulis encrasicholus (anchovy) from Black and Mediterranean Seas were studied. Aequorea forskalea Péron & Lesueur, 1810 was recorded for the first time from the Turkish coastal waters. A. forskalea was observed from January 2012 until September 2012 in Iskenderun Bay, the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
