This report presents an experience report about the realization of a psycho-social rehabilitation group from the perspective of Popular Health Education (PHE) in a Psycho-social Care Center for Alcohol and other Drugs (CAPS AD, abbreviation in Portuguese), in the context of operation of the Residence, with an emphasis on Collective Mental Health, from the School of Public Health of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. During this period, 21 weekly meetings of the group were held with users from the referred center in 2019. The group aimed to promote psycho-social rehabilitation, autonomy and critical reflection of its participants and was guided by the PHE methodology. Based on this experience, it has been analyzed how its realization could promote psycho-social rehabilitation of its participants, by identifying how the instruments adopted in the realization of this group contributed to the promotion of psycho-social rehabilitation. By highlighting PHE practices, this report contributes to the qualification of health care offered in the Unified Health System (UHS) and also it contributes to the strengthening of the Popular Health Education Policy. In addition, this study presents PHE as an alternative methodology to develop groups that aim at psycho-social rehabilitation in different UHS services. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
