The article focuses on the popularization of science as a concept and discusses science communication as an interactive and participative process. The authors discuss science communication and emphasize the importance of enabling novel approaches for constructing scientific knowledge using contemporary media resources. The distinguish their approach from what they refer to as the diffusion model of scientific popularization. The authors also comment on media visibility of science and technology and scientific initiatives in Brazil.
