The article discusses how the organization DIY Girls at diygirls.org founded by Luz Rivas changed the life of Sylvia Aguiñaga, director of curriculum at the organization, focusing on the do-it-yourself approach of the organization toward STEM education for girls. It presents the views of Aguiñaga on working with the DIY Girls and Rivas on how she started the STEM education program for girls and women and encouraging students to use the design thinking process.
