The present study was designed to determine the quarter-wise prevalence of sub-clinical mastitis in cattle on the basis of various indirect mastitis detection tests. For this purpose, nine hundred eighty (980) quarter milk samples from 247 cows were screened by various mastitis detection tests viz Milk pH test, modified California mastitis test (MCMT), somatic cell count (SCC) and electrical conductivity (EC). The overall quarter wise highest prevalence of SCM was found in somatic cell count (24.49%) followed by electrical conductivity (23.47%), modified California mastitis test (22.45%) and milk pH (21.94%). Right side hind quarters were more affected than the left side fore quarters in each mastitis detection tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
