The article presents a study which examines the factors that affect the swimming pattern and migration of Atlantic salmon kelts in Canadian gulfs with the use of underwater acoustic telemetry. It states that 49 kelts were tagged with the acoustic telemetry transmitters in 2006 and 2007 to monitor the migration behaviour of the fishes. It mentions that the study also examined the physical habitat characteristics and swimming depth patterns of the kelts. It adds that there was no tidal current directions in the migration of the kelts. Moreover, it concludes that kelts are residing in the delta for a long period of time followed by their migration to coastal embayment.
