The article discusses various aspects of on how to reduce the level of repetitive stress injuries in pork processing plants in Canada. Topics include pre-injury reporting, carpel tunnel syndrome and tendinitis. Also highlighted are points on how to diminish the chances of an injury, full-fledged serious illness and rates of injury reporting.

Abstract

The article reports on the most common repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) affecting musicians in Canada. RSIs include carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition where there is excessive pressure on the median nerve running through the wrist and hand, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, which causes pain in the wrist and forearm just above the thumb, and trigger finger, a condition where there is inflammation on the tendon. Discomfort, impairment and loss of muscle strength and function characterized RSIs.
