Abstract

The article reports that acrylamide and tris(2-chloroethlyl) phosphate (TCEP) were recommended by Health Canada to be added to the country's list of toxic substances due to their carcinogenic effects to humans. It notes that the agency will not limit the use of acrylamide in nonfood sources but in the use of formation of certain foods. Furthermore, risk management operations for TCEP that could include replacement with an alternative compound is being considered by the government.
